Met (my now ex) wife in Whitby, where we married, when I was based at Royal Air Force Fylingdales.
My best man was my best mate from my days at RAF Newton, in Nottingham.
Part of his speech, "One hot summers day, Paul and I were walking back from Nottingham to Newton, along the side of the River Trent, Paul being Paul suggested as it was quiet and it was red hot we should cool off and go skinny dipping in the Trent. I thought sod it, why not, so we got in in.
Aftrr a while of cooling off we could hear voices approaching so got out and went for our clothes. As this bunch of lasses approached, Paul put t-shirt around his waist and I put mine around my head.
After lasses passed us, we started getting ready, Paul asked, "why on earth did you put your t-shirt around your head and not your waist"?
I responded with, "where I come from they recognise us from our faces"....

I've actually sat through a similar wedding speech before. But by the brides Dad. Every comment & story he told were how he'd tried to talk the groom out of marrying his daughter. What made it bearable was that each story was followed by 2-3 seconds of silence in the room.... then my ex-wife would bark out a very loud & singular drunken laugh, while I commented to myself (stupidly) how the speech should stop, or how someone should shoot her Dad for these tales, or something along those lines.
The Bride said the only thing that got her through that speech was my wife's drunken laughter.
This then got a wee bit worse/funnier a week later when the bride & groom brought the wedding video round to show us. Turns out that the guy recording it had been stood at my right shoulder the whole time! Mildly stoned me hadn't noticed him. & had caught every comment I'd made about the speech. I'm just glad they both saw how funny it all was for such an awful speech.
I can't top that. The cringiest one I've been to was when the best man seriously ripped into one of the groom's exes, not realising she was at the wedding.

Angry drunk mother of the brides can be very entertaining, especially when standing abusing the guests...
My parents' wedding bore remarkable similarities to THIS and the wedding in 'Killing Eve' S3 Ep01.
As with those two examples above, the festivities ceased in uproar and the attendees disbanded into two hostile camps. Sadly unlike the examples mentioned, my parents' marriage didn't end there ...it limped on for another 35 years like an airship looking for somewhere to crash and burn*.
I can't say my mother wholly resembled Catherine Tate's 'drunk bride' ...she wasn't ginger, BUT she suddenly found herself between a mother who didn't want her (she was a then 'old-maidish' 26 years old) and a husband who chose to run after his fleeing mother, and on the way should really've realised his terrible mistake.
