I saw Ricky talking about hosting the golden globes on an interview the other day. He was asked if he was ever worried about offending celebrities and his answer was "there's 200 celebrities sitting in the room in front of him that he offends, and 200 million people sitting at home watching laughing their asses off, thats why I do it"
Exactly!!!
Excellent 👌

You’re SO right, about the audience being WAY too high-and-mighty, self-important and out of touch to even understand, or ‘get’ almost any of the jokes, or even to understand that this is comedy. Ricky Gervais is one of the most intelligent and humorous people on Earth. Hugely brave and willing to go toe to toe with any source of hypocrisy. Ricky Gervais: " Just because your'e offended doesn't mean you are right."
Really admire your reaction. As a Brit, our comedy is dark but honest however never serious. Love the fact you guys get it, got it in everyway, as you mention about our national football team. Agree! 👏 👏 👏
If anything it's even funnier
I always interpreted the joke for "and there's no sequel." to be the joke that they're all actors and there is no 2nd movie.
@@fugustogamer7512 yes… the second movie being the afterlife.
(As an aside, there’s also a slight irony to this in that Gervais’ show is called Afterlife!)
He wasn’t making fun of religious people at all he was joking about how Hollywood Celebes take themselves too seriously
You can feel the nervousness of the ‘celebs’ as he walks on
They knew what was coming for them! You guys are doing great. Just subscribed.
I grew up where Ricky did, and he’s spot on! All day long!
I love your channel, your reactions are hilarious. Ricky Gervais is brilliant, he doesn’t care, he says it as it is. The look on some of the faces in the audience are unbelievable, they are too scared to laugh, most of them are too up themselves. Look forward to watching more of your channel, love from the UK x
Can watch him all day long, living legend
Stumbled upon your channel and you guys made me laugh after a really crappy day. Ricky is the GOAT Roast Master of Hollywood. I enjoyed this very much!
We love dark wicked humour in the 🇬🇧 so pleased you're enjoying it
Even if this gig was maybe the toughest ... it didn't deal the other 4 times much differently either. My thanks go to those who had the power to decide who hosts the GG. The person (s) who hired Ricky knew exactly what he was going to do and they also knew that this was not just a short-term amusement for the audience. It is part of an awakening out of an upbringing caused by the film industry and the press, to make the viewer accept actors as new gods and make movies and the ideas they proide a larger part of our life than it should. A highly complex conditioning system was created that poured huge amounts of money into the coffers and at the same time served the narcissism of producers and actors to the extreme. The end of this time has begun and Ricky has rang the bell.
Paused this one abit to much lads. Got to love Ricky tho. Living legend
Just LOVED watching the actors looking so serious!! My stomach was aching for laughing!!!
Hollywood lines em up and us Brits are waiting to knock em back with a sting!🤣
ahaha, love the backhanded compliment: "i have to admit it was full of...great actors"
Ricky is the best...balls of steel. And it's so true. Love your reaction. 😻
