I believe they are at their best with proper car items though, very funny if you have only take a little bit of interest in cars. Best of British Leyland, Grosser vs Corniche, the British Sportscar challenge, Skoda Yeti test and Spyker C8 test (including quite a bit of banter). They might not be fitting for a reaction video because of the length except for the last two, but that's no different with the specials and the races.
Jeremy meets the Neighbours was a great series too. He just went over to a European country with all of his offensive stereotypes, and made a nice documentary which could also be seen as offensive, but fun. Shame not much of that is left on YT.
When it's about jokes, best of Clarkson in QI might do.

Many years ago, I took our two sons to the Motor Show in Birmingham (the UK one). The guys from Too Gear were there and I mainly remember them being rude about Norfolk. Jeremy Clarkson said he bought some petrol and handed over his credit card to pay for it. The man in the petrol station looked at it, turned it over, looked at it again and then just put it in the till. The other one he said was that when aeroplanes fly over villages in Norfolk, the locals just point up into the sky.

The BBC is publicly funded by way of a TV license that everyone pays, which means they can say whatever they want, and routinely have, about whatever car or manufacturer they wish. They can badmouth and tear into whatever car they had on test that week without worry.
American Top Gear, on the other hand, was funded entirely by corporate sponsors, usually by way of auto manufacturers. So to bad mouth a car is to risk losing sponsor, nullifying a contract and possible litigation. Which is why, after the first season, they removed car reviews entirely, and just did silly, non-dangerous, non-legally-dubious, and often sponsored challenges.
These challenges had to be safe and presented with a "professional driver on closed course" warning to keep themselves or the network from getting sued when some idiot kills himself.

And to be fair, the American trio on History Channel were getting better before they got the axe. Also, for those not aware, there have been two more renditions of an American Top Gear in recent years in addition to the History Channel version. From what I’ve seen, they’re not very good unfortunately.

Dude the American top gear absolutely repeatedly misses the mark every damn time they try a new presenter lineup.
      I mean
In fairness, maybe the worldview of Americans being selfish douchnozzles may be why Top Gear USA seems convinced the world wants less actual banter. Just increase the horrid attempts to copy Clarkson and always remember:
Never, not once, EVER try to find presenters with any type of chemistry. Choose them at random and always commit 1000000% to the financing of the eventual shitshow without any reflecting about just how wildly awkward the USA top gear always ends up. Please just find some mechanics that hail from the Midwest, then southern states and 1 from the cleanest and rust free states.
Then let the friggin presenters maybe organically work out what the show will contain. At least a bit. Top Gear UK is legendary because the shit talking was absolute beautifully done and no one was above some UK sarcasm.
Man I hope the USA isnt deliberately knee capping USA top gear just to hope no one gets offended. It takes all entertainment right out of the entire show.

I have been really missing this obvious point. Yeah, makes perfect sense the dang companies would never allow the damn criticizing of the auto makers, no matter the severity of the recalls continially churned out.
I am sincere here, I really didn't grasp why US top gear wasn't even a parody of the UK show.
This righr here done lit the dim bulb of final comprehension. I dont know how I didnt put that all together myself, but hey.

Add another inch if manhood and send him down the line."
Turns out you can be good lookin and hung, just sacrifice social cue comprehension and a general understanding of the female attraction cues. Even if i was gorgeous, id be having to ask for confirmation even if the lass was already wearing her freshly tightened up birthday suit.
Subtlety is not easy for me. The resulting absolute confusion when other people point out I missed the plot some lady was trying to lay down.

Just thought I’d mention, when Jeremy Clarkson was driving a lorry saying it was a hard job “change gear change gear change gear murder a Prostitute”
He was making a joke about one of Englands most brutal and notorious serial killers, who was a truck driver who murdered dozens of prostitutes in horrible ways and had the entire regional police force just completely confused
So yeah that one was rough🤣

  • @TheExplosiveGuy

The original Top Gear produced by the BBC was an absolute riot, my entire family and I watched that show for years, we had a lot of special family moments laughing our butts off together while learning lots of cool stuff about cool/some not so cool cars. The celebrity (mostly British) races were really funny too, it was always interesting seeing what kind of drivers they were lol. Simon Cowell was at the top of the leaderboards for a while lol, he was definitely a fast driver, not the guy I'd expect with how much of a prick the guy is🤣, I'd have expected him to be the type that only rides in limos lol.
The American version though, I don't know, it kinda lost its magic after that, I've never been able to get back into it, everything just feels too forced and scripted. It's too bad Jeremy Clarkson punched that BBC director in the face and got himself fired🤣, that's why the American version happened lol. James May and Richard Hammond quit with Jeremy, they wouldn't do the show without him and the director wouldn't budge so the show was canceled.

The guys in the prison van in that clip were the Top Gear Australia presenters and they did a hilarious episode where they “competed” with them in various challenges. Top Gear was broadcast all over the world but in most markets it was edited, the "full fat" version in the UK was possible because it was on the BBC and therefore no advertisers to be scared of. So they can come straight out and say "that's rubbish" or when Jeremy described the then newly launched Porsche Panamera as looking like "genital warts", could you ever imagine a US network broadcasting that, the lawyers would be in meltdown.

I was under the impression Top Gear is on TV in the USA, Clarkson, Hammond and May did the show for about 10/15 years, its been on TV with different presenters since the 1970s to the present day.
Its these 3 you want to search out, they take the piss out of anything, everything and especially each other.

Top Gear with these 3 is a must watch. It was far more than a Car Show. They had some amazing adventures and took great delight in winding each other up, but they were proper friends. Dive in and enjoy the ride.
By the way, I have no interest in cars and loved the shows. I regularly watch reruns over in the UK (on every day). The star in a reasonably priced car had some epic moments. They had to do a lap of a track in boring standard car, but the stars had the best time. Watch the one with Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise or the one with Amber Heard and watch the interview before the lap. It's hilarious.
