Damn, not even a minute in and I have to comment.
That officer that lied in his report needs to be charged with filing a false report. Qualified immunity doesn't apply here. Even if they dropped the charges, doesn't make lying like that any better, it makes it far worse. How many other times has this department lied about stuff by just taking the officers word?
To be honest Ben should have sued them instead of just sending the footage. There is no excuse for this cop to lie, if it had not been recorded Ben would have been liable by the cop's lies and this cop should be fired for their action.
He wont be. And it probably happens all the time.
Guys I know it looks bad but the cop might have genuinely believed they had the lights on. It looks like he was in the process of responding to a call at was being negligent. Everyone's memory is fallible so he genuinely may have just been going through the motions of turning on the lights even through the crash and after the fact thought he actually had them on before the contact.
I'd er on the side of him probably lying about this but you need to understand that we don't have all the information and there's a big chance the situation is being misunderstood by us, the poorly informed.
Definitely not worth firing over either. Discipline sure but you don't need to ruin someone's livelihood over something like this.
@@Patrick-zr8tv You have some good points that I totally agree with, but I would think footage would be looked at before filing an official police report when there are differing stories.
@@Patrick-zr8tvso we’re supposed to be concerned for ruining that lying cop’s livelihood (what else has he/she lied about or wiling to lie about) and not the person the cop hit, with a $14,000 bill that could’ve financially ruined him especially if his insurance took the NYPD version as true and left Ben high and dry? Everyone screws up. The key is to (pardon the pun) cop to it, not lie to save your ass and screw the other person over. By filing that report with the lie, they proved they aren’t worthy of the badge and power it has.
good drivers sometimes miss their exit, bad drivers NEVER miss their exit.
The NYPD one is an officer integrity issue. That would be an immediate disciplinary review for termination in the jurisdictions I have worked with in Colorado. If an officer has a documented case of lying on an official report, it undermines their ability to do probable cause which is often inclusive of affidavits swearing to evidence.
Not here in nyc they do wat they want Smfh it’s a dam shame
It is the NYPD’s official position to lie on reports. If you report a break in, they lie about investigating it. They tell business owners to not even bother reporting crime because they won’t do anything. They blame you if your car is stolen. Illegal cars with fake plates are cleared every day by cops who don’t even look at them. They even lie about their hours to steal more money from the taxpayer. Literal crime gang.
Hahahaha well I work with cops and detectives in the Denver area on DV cases and they can certainly do whatever they want in these cases and put victims in danger with no disciplinary review unless the person dies while it’s their case. Not collecting evidence and lying about it is common. Maybe they get in trouble when they don’t take a report (while pretending to) but that’s a maybe. Never answering calls or emails from a victim in a high risk cases is not punished.
So it’s weird that lying in a fender bender would get an immediate disciplinary review?
@nicoleparreira1024 I'm really sorry that's been your experience. As you know, if you work with officers (sounds like maybe victims advocate - thank you for your service), departments vary WIDELY in how they write and operate policy. That said victims advocates often deal with the most frustrating cases. The law restricts officers and the departments and sometimes justice feels hollow beyond a first arrest mandated by DV law. Evidence to clear "beyond a reasonable doubt" can be harder to come by. I stand by what I said earlier, the departments I've worked with have an auto review policy when an officer is documented to have a false report on record. It impacts future sworn evidence and warrants. I will say if you are working with Westminster PD, DPD, or Denver Sheriff the ... Challenge is easier to understand. The large Denver area departments often struggle to maintain high standards at the scale and complexity they operate.
damn ben!!! im super glad u had that dash cam!!!! they tried to play you boss and that bogus
I hope they charged the cop with filing a false report, falsifying official documents, or whatever they call it .... but I'm not going to hold my breath.
It's nypd thats definitely not going to happen
Its the police in general, they cover each other's butts. No matter how at fault they are. I watched an officer kill a Man's dog, the officer completely ignored the sign "beware of dogs" he opened the rear door without any warrent then the kitchen door, the stupid but innocent dog who loves to play with everyone wanted to play with the officer and he pulled out his gun and shit the dog 3 times killing it. Similar things happen in Canada.
In the end police said he was in the right to kill the dog cuz he felt threatened.
Should be in prison for life.
11:20 despite his "lack of driving skills" that save was insane!
Lmao yeah that was lowkey wicked
Yeah I rewatched that a few times cause he didn't hit anything which is tough when you were just going 95 mph 😂😂
Very smooth exit.
i was thinking the same lmao he clearly saved that
saw the inside pov of this part on insta idk how he saved it but it was crazy
@9:00 It's funny that Yensen said, "Stay safe out there" when he didn't pull over for the flashing lights or the wrong way driver that crossed the line right in front of him
Yeah maybe Yensen should follow his own advice and learn how to pull over for emergency vehicles.
Yeah. I was yelling at the screen "pull over, pull over". Instead they stayed in the middle as close as possible to the action. Kind of a dumb move.
You need to pull over, why?
@@Re69.it’s a law where you have to give the right of way to emergency vehicles in the USA. This is for the safety of everyone. He’s lucky that the police were busy with another person
@@hazadoor I would understand you need to give way to make room. Why would you need to pull over when their lane is empty? Makes no sense, they just wanna drive on the wrong side of the road for no reason? 😂
If I was Ben, I would demand charges because that officer filed a false police report. What a scumbag department.
Time to Lawyer Up and Sue!
6:48 that guy forgot his passport 😂
Crooked cops always out to protect their own!! Thank goodness for Ben's dash cam!! 😮
The entire worlds policing system isn't here to protect their citizens (who pay for that service). The system exists its to control you without honesty being a part of their mandate.
I have 6 kids and 3 sons-in-law and I have bought them all dashcams after watching your videos. None of them have said they have needed them. But I'm sure in time they will.
Of course #6 in the Charger might be a Hollywood stunt driver, in which case his stylish performance in reaching the exit lane in such a spectacular manner was near perfect.
As for #1, that was hilarious. One angry pickup driver gesticulating at heaven knows who, blaming them for his own stupid mistake in failing to sure his load properly.
"Slap it twice and say that ain't going nowhere". I think Robby Layton started that. His whole crew is great and so fun to watch. Don't worry, I love watching yours too Wham Baam! Thanks for bringing us these great videos!
2:20 that certainly gave a whole new meaning to air mattress. Lol 😂
I hope Nick kept this license plate as a "trophy" for repairing his totaled car...
The police kept the plates unfortunately😔
I like how Wham Baam does not blur out licence plates or anything else. Keep being the best!
They only blur it out if it's a legal requirement from the country the submission is in. The US isn't one of those countries.
The fact that a cop can just lie and attempt to ruin someone’s life to cover his own ass and get absolutely 0 consequences is horrifying. He’s a clear danger to the public and deserves to be in prison.
8:50. How does having passengers mean you cant stop and check on someone?
I assumed it was a cab. Can't let them waiting!
@@Re69. that would make more sense
Or Uber or Lyft - any paying passengers.
Stopping on the freeway is bloody dangerous, fuck that.
I used to drive semi's back and forth through NYC regularly back in the 80's. That's how they drove then, and I see they still do.
I’m a truck driver. This pretty much sums up my experiences of driving in New York. I was turning into a customers street and my trailer wasn’t going to clear an illegally parked car near the corner. A NYPD officer pulls up to me comes over and says “I’m going to give you two choices: I’ll cite you for blocking the street or you can run over the car and be on your way.” Tandems went up and over the roof and hood and I was outta there.
13:11 BRILLIANT REFLEXES AND REACTION TIME BY THE DRIVER👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏💪💪💪💪💪
The cop car thing happened to me 25 years ago before dash cams were attainable by the average Joe. after the accident, the cop turned on their lights and put in the report. It was on at the time. It was their word against mine.
You should do one of these series, but about Wisconsin and every other state
Okay, that Aerosmith remix had me dying (tesla scene) 5:32 😂😂
i think theres gonna be a whole lot of big altima energy in this video lol
@5:56, #16 it sure looks like a one-lane road that just has enough room for people to pass on the right if some are turning left. I don't see any markings at all.
who else likes Nypd paint schemes?
they made it look like border patrol now
What I don't like about the NYPD is their dishonestly or need to act like Thugs in Uniform.
Isn't that all cops? Even the ones that aren't actively acting like that, they're still there ready to back up the ones that do act like that. @@Snapper314
I like them too
im more of an Arizona State Trooper paint scheme kinda fello
10:46 "always come to a complete stop"
*Rolls the stop sign just before the Tesla.
That's a great video. We need vol 2 of the worst drivers of New York
9:17 imagine being so tired you don’t care if you’re getting pulled over you just want your bed that bad 😂
The last clip is extra 🤣🤣🤣🤣
11:45 the car had tears 😭
Hello, new yorker here! I want to share my own story. A couple of years ago, i was in my dad's car driving along the south conduit (highway?) We were driving home, and we had come to an intersection that connects the 3 lanes to a road. (This was a bit ago, i might be wrong) As we pulled up to the light, we had a green. Several other vehicles were ahead of us, going the speed limit. There was a police officer behind our car. All of a sudden, a vehicle comes out of the intersection, running their red light, and striking a car 2 lanes to the left of us. The car that was struck spun out, airbags deployed at about 50 miles an hour, send flying into a structural support beam for the bridge ahead, directly in the center of the vehicle (sideways). The police car and others pulled over to check on siqd driver, attempting to remove said air bags. Unfortunately, in today's people, many were recording instead of calling 911 for assistance, since the police car had yet to pull up. The other car was on fire. I do not truly know, but it was assumed at the time the driver had deceased in the crash on impact due to the forces after striking the support beam..
Thanks for reading, took a bit to write and i barely remember this event but it is a memory that has stuck with me to always remember vehicle safety and never not wear your seatbelt.
I love this channel I don’t have a dash cam but I was at Walmart two weekends or so ago with my husband and we almost seen a jeep on Jeep collision in Walmart parking lot. Everyone was fine.
2:34 - Or since this could have been just a mistake, the cop could have aided in securing the load and allowed the driver to be free!
Clip number 5 is fairly close to my house 😂 I recognised the BQE overpass so quickly, Brooklyn Tower in the back, as well as the Firehouse when the driver took off. I think I remember getting a Citizen notification about this accident a while ago.
that is crazy
You should make a video of worst drivers: DMV edition (DC, Maryland, and Virginia)
yup def buying a dash cam vid now
I definitely have to send in my videos for the next NY segment LOL
#13 7:24 was great to see this video because the van backed into Laible's Honda and didn't drive away. The driver stuck around to give Laible his insurance information. It's nice to know some of the worst drivers are honest and will fix what they have messed up.......
I really like the New York one how he just left and left and his license plate
NYPD never fails to surprise me.
Wow, New York worst drivers. I'm a fan, Wham baam シシ
Nick with the Acura, that accident was a block away from me in brooklyn. Ppl always crash near me . 2 bridges and an expressway would do rhat 😢
Who else likes/loves wham baam securitycam?
Welcome to NY. Home sweet home. I actually know most of those locations.
Ohhh man I’ve got plenty of videos from NY I could send over to be on Whambam
I’m so glad I left NJ, I had a trucker job and his to drive to NY on Monday’s and Wednesday’s and it was terrible!!!
Happy Valentines day 2024🎉to you and all fellow fans ❤😊❤
11:25 He didn't avoid anything. He planned that.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The pickup driver in the last clip is going to have to go on hands and knees, to retrieve some of the tools that went under the pickup. I bet next time he will assure that ALL his load is secured! This makes me think of a clip I saw of bad day at work for a guy who opened one too many drawers on his tool chest -- and gravity did the rest, making it fall over forward, sending tools everywhere. lol
Wham Baam Gamercam When?
Loving this series but may be a bit bias being from the Albany NY area. Actually used to live close to the area in clip number #21 and Ny is notorious for bad drivers. Keep this going for sure!
Cool video do the worst drivers in Georgia
11:23 was in tokyo drift bro is insane😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉
whoever was in that charger KNEW exactly what HE WAS DOIN
Need more bad drivers of Ontario!!
That’s nyc the first video lawless driving all around, driver license is just an accessory 😅😂
I love how the cops try to squeeze their way out of that. The cop knows what he did was wrong
Can you make a Worst drivers of the DMV? (Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia.)
12:48 Disappointed that Simon didn't stand his ground...
Wow crazy
I'm sure you already know this but, just in case: You have got to do a Los Angeles version.
He already did that with California, but if you mean strictly LA, then that possibly could happen.
Clip one with the cop, I had same thing happen to me way back in 93. I had about 6 witnesses saying he didn't have lights on. They stuck to their story and I was found at fault. My insurance refused to pay since there were so many witnesses saying the same thing I did. I lost my license for 5 years over it. To bad dash cams weren't a thing back then.
U need to make one for the Michigan drivers (Detroit especially)
5:13 I knew I realized that area, cause I live around there lol
Love the NY edition especially in the city!!! It’s only getting worse with these drivers.
sure hope the cop was charged with a false police report when proven wrong by the dash cam in first video
Can you make about worst car about supercars
That’s crazy #20 is where I live 😂
#25 - Hope the cop that lied about the accident was fired.
that charger had it under control 😂
You see why NYC insurance is RIDICULOUS!
*NYPD* Just watched a whistleblower talk about how horrible they are and then to see this and the lie! lol 😂 the emergency lights were on lol
I drive in NYC 10hrs a day and this is normal for me
I see this everyday.
that COP should be FIRED for lying I mean can you trust him now?
10:09 I think the van only collided with one vehicle himself ^^
Great 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Same but literally the same happened to me on the first video
11:26 bro that is skill not lack of driving I wish I can do 😂 but that amazing skill 👏
That scat pack went sliding
Ik that area the taxi incident happened in, I drove through there with a locked passenger side front brake 😂 shit sucked I couldn't go over 50
Omggggg just found you ! And just Subbed !👍👍👍👍👍💜
A Prius Destroyed my Whole vehicle backing up between 2 red lights even though I was Already at the Red light behind him !!! Dumbass !!!
And EVEN THOUGH AS I SAT ON THE HORN AT A CONSTANT BEEEEEEEEP HE CONTINUED !! Wish I had had a camera. But After Seeing this today, I will Buy a 4 way dash cam .
Thank you 👌👍👌🙏🧡💛💜🧡💛💜
Video 11 looks like route 8 that runs thru CT to NY I had this exact incident to me near head on collision and Almost rear ended at 80mph due to my sudden stop! It was on rt8 north guy was heading south in Seymour/ansonia CT area
The driver kept going towards NY direction
As someone who lives near Albany I’m not surprised lol
12:42 #4 Simon says.....lololololololololololololol
If you made a video about the DMV area, even specifically Maryland or Virginia, it would be hours long
NYC is wild
hit-and-run drivers If they're found out by their Insurance complain that they did that Their insurance rate should double Triple.
11:48 When you cut through a lane that has stopped traffic. The responsibility is on the car coming through. You need to check to make sure there’s nothing coming in the opposite lane. I saw another video exactly like this one, where the guy tried to blame the woman. Saying to her, can’t you see that lane has stopped traffic letting cars out. But on her lane, there wasn’t any stop traffic it was flowing. He should’ve made sure there was nothing coming, responsibility is on him not her. Why is it that some people think that when they cut through traffic, it’s the other persons responsibility. 🤯
2 Tesla’s behaving badly? Score!!
I know wham baam said the charger had bad driving skills, but that was honestly a pretty smooth maneuver.
11:21 if bro had "lack of driving skills" he wouldn't save that
3:54 somehow I doubt they said that But I just started driving and I'm thinking of getting a dashcam too
last time i watch a video, buddy tells me to buy a dashcam 100 times
Back the blue, lol.
Hey can you tell me how to send you videos?
Same
The tri state area is a war zone on the road every last man for themselves getting home is a accomplishment
10:36 Park police have the green light to give traffic tickets now?!
I guess they have to keep them busy
