    Already booked in Advance version, pearl white metallic .. Top 🔝 of the range with all the optional.. Full hybrid, with super diesel fuel consumption and respect for the environment .. I'm really very happy with the new civic... Silence to the maximum and sportiness at the same time. Honda one step towards the others..

      100% true. The previous gen was overdesigned.

    Gonna drive the same car tomorrow :). So excited. Coming from an Alfa Romeo Giulia, this Civic felt at least as plush to sit in the showroom, and a lot more modern. The salesman warned me of road noise, so that'll be something I'll try to understand if it would be a showstopper. Previous cars (B8 Passat, G20 BMW 3 series and Alfa Giulia) were all low on road noise.

    • @Specproof
      @Specproof  Před rokem +1

      Nice! I suppose the road noise levels will be similar to the Passat more or less. But I would temper my expectations when coming from Giulia and G20. That said, it's great to drive despite an FWD vehicle. Power to fuel economy is excellent. And overall it feels very natural for a hybrid drivetrain.
      Mõnusat sõitu!

      What made you get rid of the Giulia?

    • @PriitKaru
      @PriitKaru Před rokem +2

      I haven't gotten rid of the Giulia yet. Just keeping my eyes open to new experiences ;). With the Civic I'd get a brand new car with a nice body shape, packed with updated safety tech and way better fuel economy. Based on my calculations which take into account monthly lease price, fuel, insurance, repairs and maintenance, the cost per kilometre would come down 15-30% depending on spec, compared to running a 5 year old Giulia Veloce.
      The Civic impressed me a lot by the way. The powertrain acted quite hybrid'y as one would expect, aka there were times when what the engine rpms were doing didn't always have 100% correlation with your acceleration. The "virtual gear shifts" on mid-to-hard accelerations were pretty nicely done though. The engine note I thought was quite rough. The steering, while praised by many journalists, doesn't come even close to the Giulia's, but then again almost nothing does.
      I really liked the interior (Advance model), most touch points felt so posh and squidgy, the seating position was excellent. And of course the fuel economy. My 1hr test ride I got 5,1l / 100km and I did not do eco driving. Road noise was lower in town compared to the Giulia, slightly higher at 120kph, but the car had winter tyres on with 7 degrees plus celsius, so that probably had its effect. Overall a really really nice car, would recommend. Not sure at this point if I'd make the switch from the Giulia :).

      @@PriitKaru I had a Giulia Veloce and sadly had to get rid of it due to a non existing service network in the UK and trust me, you need a good workshop if you own a Giulia 😜 it was an awesome car to drive though, not sure if I will ever feel like this about a car I own!!

    • @Specproof
      @Specproof  Před rokem

      For me it was totally fine - quiet enough for the class. That said - yes the Golf 7/8 is a bit more refined when it comes to noise.

    I thought this car has an eCVT. Why does it sound like it’s shifting gears?

    • @Specproof
      @Specproof  Před 6 měsíci

      Great question! In the case of new Honda hybrids, the gearbox situation is rather difficult to explain. They don't have a conventional transmission as such. There's a motor generator instead of a gearbox. I suggest you google it if you're interested.

    I’m thinking of swapping my 2020 BMW M340i for this great looking, well engineered and built Civic eHEV! My previous cars were 2018 BMW 440i Coupe, 2017 Audi S5 Coupe, 2016 Mercedes C43 Coupe, 2016 Jaguar XE-S Supercharged, 2015 Mercedes E400 Convertible and 2012 Mercedes C350 (petrol) V6. I’ve got to the stage where although I can afford nice six cylinder engined cars, I’m just not sure it’s worth it on today’s congested roads and the lefty woke brigade’s relentless war on speed in the U.K.!

    • @Specproof

      That's amazing to hear that someone with a car history like you is considering a Civic! And you really have a point here. Civic is an excellent vehicle for that money and for a hybrid, it's pretty quick. At this point, I'm certain that Honda makes better, more natural-feeling hybrids than Toyota.
