    #Ahsoka #Ezra #Thrawn
This episode not only brought it with the easter eggs and a few meta star wars references, but I think it 'laid the groundwork for the series endgame, which will involve Anakin, Luke, Yoda, Palpatine and many more classic characters coming together to set up the next big movie.
So I’m going to talk about all of that later, but first guys-we finally got grand admiral Thrawn. So excited to see him in the flesh, and I’m very excited to finally reveal something to you: this is our grand admiral polo shirt, which is available at our merch store, screen crush merch dot com. Me and the team design these shirts ourselves, where this month we also have High ground, say no to death sticks-go home and rethink your life-and this beautiful poster or tapestry that traces the lineage of hamsters and apprentices.
We deeply appreciate all of you watching and helping us out, and supporting our store. But enough of that, let’s get to this breakdown.
Huyang and Ahsoka are passing the time, and he says [youngling stories nursery rhyme]. And you know, we have heard of this before. In the high republic stories, there is an ancient jedi nursery rhyme about a creature that turns jedi to dist-which turns out to be a real animal.
He says -stories one, 2, and 3…1 is best]. And given that ahsoka creator dave filoni is such a star wars nerd, I think this has to be a meta reference to the three star wars trilogies. And of course, the classic OT is the best-like Huyang says.
And when he tells his story, he says [far far away]. This is lovely for a few reasons. One, = this story does take place in a galaxy that is far, far away. But this is also, of cours e, how Star Wars movies begin. In the 1970s it was a way to connect star wars to escapism-your life may be sick on earth-but this story is taking place in a faraway land. The early trailers even echoed this [clip]. This iconic 10 word opening also evoked the fairy tales of our childhoods [clip]. This reference actually ties into a deeper meaning in the episode that I’ll talk about a bit later.
And with that line, the focus shifts to the faraway galaxy, and to Sabine’s journey.
The real barry pointed out that the design of peridia seems to follow the Lord of the rings. The night sister castle looks like gondor, the staties echo the kings of old-and add to this that sharks died and was reborn as ahsoka the white, like gandalf, and this als eems intentional. Maybe this is because sytar wars and the third aghe of middle earth are in similar situations. Civoizatioon is trying to rebuild, but a mysterious dark force form far away threatens the peaceful kingdom.
    4d puzzle ad
Back to ahsoka, where Sabine’s prison cell’s window is an inverted triangle-which I thought was interesting, because the symbol of the sith is often a triangle. The idea being that the Sith are ruled by a single point-a single master at the top of the pyramid-while the Jedi sit in a circle that is more like King Arthur's round table, where everyone has an equal voice.
But the night sisters-like the sith-use the dark side of the force. But their magic stems from a deeper place-and we see this with their architecture, it all seems to come up from the ground. Even in the clone wars and the game jedi: fallen order the night sister temples always seem to be carved into the rock of planet dathomir.
So an inverted pyramid shows that they are unlike the sith-not seeking power to rule and conquer. But also, with the night sisters we see the occurrence of threes. In this episode, it is the three force witches. And on this channel before we’ve talked about how in mythology the recurrence of three witches represents 3 stages of womanhood-the mother, the maiden and the crone. We use ethos in the Scottish play, and even in movies like Hocus pocus.

I loved the last episode (for obvious reasons), but THIS is the episode that Star Wars as an IP/universe needed. Desperately too I might add. This is one of the few moments where they expand on the MYTHOS of Star Wars. Not just adding lore, but history and mysticism to Star Wars. Going far beyond the established Jedi/sith trope. Nightsisters is a win.

I agree. It is not indicated in any shape or form that these stormtroopers are dead in any way shape or form. Instead they look to be loyal devoted troopers whom take pride in maintaining their gear as best they can considering their 9 years of distant exile. It would lend more credit and aura to Thrawn to have them alive and not resurrected.
I am often hearing people say that the troopers are chanting Thrawns name. This is likely an honest mistake as what we are hearing is the thematic music score provided to lend gravitas to the scene.
The actual power of the Sisters of Dathomir might be more along the lines of manipulation of hyperspace as they are Force Wielders (At least in their original incarnation in the novels), as well as the ability to commune with the Force in ways the Jedi and Sith likely failed to or forbade anyone to do.

or it could the the fact that she IS a jedi padawan. dave filoni has even said that the central theme of this show is the master/padawan relationship and how it goes from Anakin to Ahsoka to Sabine. in fact pretty much everyone in universe acknowledge Sabine as a jedi. Baylan has referred to her as such multiple times and the great mothers very quickly referred to her as reeking of Jedi. its one thing to not like that she is being trained as a jedi but it is what not only the show has said but what the person who wrote the show has said as well.

The fact that even baylan acknowledges her as a Jedi and that everyone immediately turned to her the moment it was spoken correctly showed us the intent. Baylan was a Jedi that's true but after the fall he's become something else someone not a Jedi. I believe someone even commented that the great mothers were surprised when Thrawn acknowledged him as having been Jedi. He even tells shin he was trained to be a Jedi I've trained you to be more. The fact they freely use the dark side indicated that aren't Jedi or Jedi like.

Isn't it likely that the crates being loaded from the Nightsister's catacombs into Thrawn's ship are really caskets full of dead Nightsisters? The planet is not just a graveyard for the space whales; it's also a graveyard for Dathomiri. The sisters intend to reawaken the Dathomiri when they make it back to Republic Space. Since seeing Ezra speak to Yoda in REBELS, I think Filoni has already retconned Yoda's comment to Kenobi on Dagobah when Luke left to go after Han and Leah, "No, there is another" , to be referencing Ezra - NOT Leah. Remember Luke and Ezra are only a day apart in age, so Ezra was around 14-15 (season3) when they spoke. So, considering the time the series ended and everything Ezra did in it, that would be around the same time Luke was just getting started with Kenobi's training, Age 19. I think Filoni has always planned for Ezra to be one of the greatest Jedi in SW lore and now he'll get to tell his story.

Also, I was unreasonably overcome with emotion when Ezra was revealed - I didn’t realise how invested I was in Sabine finding him, until it happened. I initially thought that he was going to be the trooper with the gold mask, until this was quickly refuted in the show.
Still, with every passing episode, I am convincing the title of the show, “Ahsoka”, is just wrong, given how much it spends on main characters from Rebels. It would have been better served being a called “Rebels”, “Fulcrum”, “Ghost Crew”, or something that ties Ahsoka and the Rebels characters together. Maybe “Ahsoka and the crew of the Ghost”? We can workshop it… :)

Here’s my crazy fan theory about Enoch. Firstly, Enoch's helmet also has a modified rebreather like Rex did with his clone trooper helmet. We've yet to see any helmet like this. (More clone style.) Also, Commander Cody stayed with the Empire after order 66. He was amongst his troops and then was no more. Thrawn saw his loyalty to the empire and renamed him Enoch which means dedicated, trained and disciplined. I would say for you to turn on your brothers and the republic that shows dedication. Secondly, even crazier I would love to see an original Dathomirian Zabrak warrior in that stormtrooper armor but still able to use the force like a night sister, would or Maul. Filoni loved Maul, and so did the fans. It would be an homage to bring a force wielding Zabrak back. He also has a double red empire insignia on his helmet that remind me of horns. Lastly, Thrawn sent away a human named Eli Vanto to help with the chiss ascendancy. I don’t know how he could connect into the situation, but he was Thrawn’s number 2. And I couldn’t help but thinking of Eli when he said Enoch, which, if we’re going off of biblical terms, which Dave Filoni loves to do, Elijah and Enoch both ascended to heaven and were no more. In the book’s Eli mysteriously vanished from the empire. As you say "He walked the Earth and then was no more, God took him." To these troops, Thrawn is their God. Enoch’s book was also removed from the Bible. It's poetry, it repeats itself. Also the red and black clothing the night sisters wear are very reminiscent of the first orders red and black flag, the final order's Sith troopers armor, and even Palpatine was garbed in red and black. Maybe Thrawn's return with the night sisters was the key to unlocking Moff Gideon's force sensitive cloning process and as to why his fleet was so massive, thousands raised from the dead or cloned in secrecy.
P.s. When Eli was sent to the Chiss ascendancy they shortened his name from Eli Vanto to Ivant because they could not pronounce his name correctly, same as did Thrawn with his name so others could pronounce it. Could Enoch be a shortened surname, based on the Chiss using the last letter of the first name and the first 4 of last name, as the Chiss did with his original #2? Ivant and Enoch both 5 letters... Thrawn trying to cling onto some Chiss pride when he hasn't seen them in so long.

Quick note: in Biblical history, Elijah loved thousands of years after Enoch.

@@boycebulldogThe actual connection between Elijah and Enoch is that both are taken to God before they died. Elijah in a flaming chariot!

Also, Eli is not legends. That’s from the newer Thrawn trilogy which is indeed canon
