    After what felt like an eternity of having non-stop misfires and breaking up during WOT runs in my 2012 Audi S4, we FINALLY figured it out!!! Quite a few people DM'd me on Instagram, sent me a message via Facebook Messenger or commented on one of my previous CZcams video stating that they are or were experiencing the exact same issues that I had. With any luck this video can help them diagnose their issues and help them get the most out of their Audi B8 S4 once again.

    I had a similar issue with my modified 1987 Buick Grand National. Despite a larger FP and injectors, I had to "hotwire" the FP to the alternator directly to get enough power to it. When you said the actual issue I was like "holy shit no way" haha, but it makes total sense. Can't wait to see that first 10.8 run.

    Very interesting and really supports your data log anything impacted by the component you change out, a new added to my list voltage. Kind of interested in Braille saying that battery would support the car; was the amp rating too low on the battery? • @VancityAudi
      @VancityAudi  Před 2 lety

      The battery failed originally in my 2018 Audi RS3. There is a very specific problem in those cars where they have the inability to use lithium batteries. I think perhaps that may have hurt the battery in the first place. Even though it showed a full state of charge once I juiced it up again, maybe it wasn't able to be charged by the alternator properly. I haven't reached out to Braille again, but I will be.

      @@VancityAudi Think I figured out what the underlying issue was. Seems to be more prevalent on IE tuned 3.0T's vs 034 but it is the LPFP not being able to supply enough fuel when near and at e40. I was able to literally drop in (after finagling the siphon tube) a RS7 bottom half of the the LPFP. Part number is 4G0919051L. Motor finally pulls over 6k without fuel cut and misfire. • @GTOworshiper
    @GTOworshiper Před 2 lety

    I had the same problem in my RS3 when running that exact braille battery. Since it's lithium it has a much lower resistance compared to an OE style battery so the car sees it as fully charged when driving around.
    To "fix" the issue I unplugged the connector on the ground strap that the car uses to monitor the discharge rate of the battery. Since the car can no longer see what the battery state of charge is it defaults to juicing the battery at about 14.5V when driving now
    Could put that braille battery back into your S4 with the connector unplugged and see if it allows you to run the lighter battery and not have the same voltage issue?
    Love the content!!

    • @VancityAudi
      @VancityAudi  Před 2 lety

      I like how you put fix in quotations. I don't see that as a fix. I see that as a work around that will kill the longevity of your battery. I as well did that and will be going over what else we did in my RS3 in a future video.

    😄 I got a b7 S4 it had a 7 year old battery just replaced last month and it can be significantly noticeable. These cars have a advanced engine management systems and sadly they don’t do good jobs telling you it’s a battery because the ECU thinks it’s ignition related. most cases you get random codes or none at all until you test your battery and see the volts are below 14-13 while idle. So it was the ECU power supply below threshold. How can the ecu identify this?The cars brain needed a coffee that day bud;)

      Your data wouldn't have helped me at all sadly. You know it "required between 4 to 6 bar"... It has never dropped below 4 bar throughout this entire process. The electrical systems aren't supposed to be able to properly use lithium batteries in a bunch of VW's and Audi's yet people do so regularly without issue. I very much appreciate the offer of the data you have at your disposal though.
