    Didn't read other comments but I am willing to bet money that the intercooler cores on the supercharger have blown. That's a $700 repair bill but can be done DIY. Just remember all new gaskets for everything. There is speculation that the failures could be caused sooner by folks who have upgraded coolant pumps - but, more than likely, the supercharger itself cannot handle the increased boost from dual pulley setups and this will keep happening.
    Still, it sucks and we don't want to see this happening to any fellow enthusiast. But hey, maybe make a video on the repair process please? I have a feeling a lot of us will need to go through this at some point.

    As much as cores suck when they leak its a good time to do a ton of maintenance and port the blower. Replace the cores, port the blower, PCV replacement and carbon cleaning. Gonna be a happy motor. Also I would look into divorcing the supercharger coolant loop if you don't have to deal with freezing Temps too often. 80/20 mix is working great here in FL. If you really want to push the IAT down, water methanol is always an option.

    • @luislozano1513
      @luislozano1513 Před 2 lety

      I've heard divorcing the system makes the bricks more prone to failure. Not your experience? I've thought about divorcing mine here in Texas but there is a lot of conflicting and views out there.

    • @Mazzerants
      @Mazzerants Před 2 lety

      @@luislozano1513 I don't see how it would cause failures. Better heat dissipation from running more water mix. I can see there being issues upgrading to the cwa100 pumps. The cores are designed with the 50pump flow and pressures in mind. Not the increases flow and pressure fom the 100 pump. I don't see my iat go above 60c from a dig in 90f weather in fl. I have the similar mods with stock pump, no TB and a 4.0T HeatXch on my SQ5.

Not the first road trip either this is my daily and occasional road trip car. Anyway so far the biggest issue has been the SC intercoolers. Also I've replaced upper control arms in the front. Just had the alternator go bad on me which was an easy repair. And I have a wheel bearing I need to replace. I guess it sounds like a lot but I've had cars with a lot less miles need just as much work but be half as fun at best as this car.
