You have made my XS650 build WAY LESS daunting. Working on the 1980 build and seeing these videos have been tremendously helpful. Keep up the great work and can't wait to see your next build!
Subscribed! Great video, keep ‘em coming!
Thanks mate
You’re doing an awesome job man! Definitely helping with my own XS journey. Keep up the awesome work mate 🤙🏻
Awesome video was thinking about getting one on Mike'sxs now I will
ah another great tip on longer clutch arms all helps mate pity i just put the polished clutch cover back on, didnt even use a new cable..
Thats awesome. Didn't realize new assy had longer actuator. I will definitely install on mine. Cheers
Another excellent video - my 76 is suffering from a heavy clutch so particularly useful vid.. Well done mate.
LoL! the gear lever did not want to come off!
My mates 650 had the lever welded to the shaft!
Out with the cutoff saw to get that one off!
Looking forward to the next build already! 👍👍👍
Fab work mate !
Another build. Cool. Look forward to it.
Keep them coming mate youre doing great. Keen as for your next project, but id still like to see XS stuff whenever you get the chance. Cheers legend
Thanks for this (and all of your videos). You've been an incredible resource in helping me with my 1981 xs650. Only because I'm an absolute nerd that I noticed you didn't use the seal included in the assembly kit. Is it not necessary? Cheers
Awesome vid!!! Can't wait to see the next update!!
Great video!

Don’t forget my neutral light wiring video!!
Enjoyed it thanks.
Nice video!’
And with good taste maybe grow some finger muscles!
My Aprillia RSVR has a hydraulic clutch with less than 15mm between on and off on the lever, its brutal and is not recommended for long rides!
It was stupid heavy. I have since moved the cable to the inner hole on the arm of the new clutch screw as I wasn't getting enough throw and it is still way lighter than the flogged out original. It must have been binding.
I’m looking to do this to my xs650.
How much lighter did it make the lever ??
My lever is ridiculously heavy.
Cheers mate 👍
Would like very much to hear the various notes given out of those mufflers mounted! Deep and rich yet clear notes?
Hi, just purchased my first xs650 so here I am... Great vids! Question, where did you get that seat... It really suits the bike.. thanks
Thanks mate. I made it. There is a few videos I put on it.
Hi Great videos! Just curious if you left out the rubber dust seal on purpose? Thanks.
thx a lot for sharing !!! question do you think this problem affect also when i am riding is very difficult to find the neutral and down shifting ? has to be with a little twist of the throttle , feels like harley !! very harsh !!! i tried to adjust the cable but nothing happen , this bike was in a storage before i bought it for about a year !! thx a lot
Sounds like the clutch isn't disengaging fully. Might be sticky plates from being stored. I ended up moving the cable to the inner position on the new clutch screw arm as I was having a similar problem and wasn't getting enough throw on the lever.
@@2wheelworkshop thanks a lot i will try first moving the cable , and if nothing happen i will go with the clutch !!! thx again and great videos you have !!!
Like your videos, but I would suggest fixing the mic. I am sure you would get more viewers if they could hear you a little better.
@@2wheelworkshop Get yourself a Zoom H1n recorder. Its a very good entry level recording device. It will dramatically increase the quality of your videos. Audio is everything, you could have crappy video, but if the audio is crappy people wont watch. Eventually you might also want to invest in a lavalier microphone. Just my 2 cents.
Would help if the video was in real time. Super speed up makes seeing a lot of the installation impossible to follow or see.
And sorry to be a on old school pain in the arse!
Please put the Makita away and just use spin tights!
The old school threads will reward you with less damage and repairs!
I'm an grumpy old fart but I have been around bikes for just on 50 years.
I have raced 500hp nitrous 1985 Suzuki's to 7.30's on the quarter mile at 194mph and build those engines.
Hopefully I can assist and not impede on your work!
I get it, but I'm impatient. It's gutless and can't even break a torqued 6mm bolt loose.
@@2wheelworkshop LoL! Just get the drivers out, its somewhat therapeutic and rewarding with the outcomes.
And from watching you lever fork seals out I'm sure you can handle 6-8-10-12 mil bolts with ease!
So you couldn't figure out where that rubber seal in the kit was supposed to go either LOL
@@2wheelworkshop I done the mod tonight and was blown away by how much lighter the clutch lever feels. I also replaced the clutch cable and lubed it with silicone spray. Highly recommended mod.
I ended up needing g to shift the cable to the inner position because I wasn't getting enough throw and I couldn't select neutral when the bike warmed up. Still way lighter than before though.
Sorry about my previous comment about the rubber seal (deleted now) I was thinking of a different video/bike.
@@2wheelworkshop yeah I found the exact same thing with getting into neutral today on my test ride. Shifting was fine, but neutral was hard to get. I'll try the other position. I lubed a new clutch cable with silicone spray, too. The lever is SO much lighter. More so than I had expected.
It was like night and day when I did mine
