what size compresor do you use for this canbinet?
Guess you are Australia or NZ. Are there Harbor Freight stores their? Like your shop, very orderly.
My 94 is a bichhhh to start. Need the choke every time. It doesn't like to idle without the choke. I had to revv the shit out of it at red lights to keep from stalling
Need a windshield Waipa 😂😂😂 Cheers mate 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾
Much appreciated mate great video! clear, strange to the point and kept it about the task at hand
Thanks mate
Nice clamps mate. Always weld outside corner first :)
👍 like your set up, easy enough to follow, looks like it works really well..like the results you showed us too. Top job. 🙂
omg an rc owner that’s not indian
Hello. Peter again from Canada...I have a 93 zx11....and it seems to have blown the main fuse. Brief overview...starter had a dead spot, and so I hit the starter button many times quickly to see if I could get the starter to engage...after 20 quick clicks of the starter...the complete electrical system went dead...any idea where...the main fuse is? Thanks. Cheers!
Will use this tutorial next week for my Ktm rc 125. Thanks from germany, I couldn't find any other rc vid ( only duke ones). Hope it will work out, thanks anyways ❤
Just a tip. The power comes in at 6.000rpm, you gotta ring her out mate😅
if , at the end of the bleed you pull the elver back and keep it back with a zip tie overnight , youll be amazed at how firm it gets
Where i can buy the seal? What name
My 1979 650 starter does not work at all kit start only
Great Work! what did you do with the vacuum ports after balancing? Do you plug them off?
Top video mate. Very informative. Saved me a ton of work on my mates bike.
How many miles were on that engine?
nice video, i think i have to do this my self. mMy bike stoped on thy way home from work one day and i dont know what happend
Amazing job mate ! Such great information condensed in this video !
why didn't you placed the bars inside the miter joint? i am confused!
Excellent video. At least I'm not the only one to have this problem. My 96 is very difficult to start. Once running it'll back fire and running very rough. Before it was rideable one it popped and back fired it ran good. Now it won't run smoothly at all. You know how they sound running good makes that beautiful whining sound.
You need a clean and set on the carbs.
Mvh Anders
Hey mate, amazing work. Do you do freelance rebuilds? Let me know if I can get in touch to discuss. It’s for a 79 xs650.
2:54 that Deutsch (German), not Dutch (The Netherlands). 😮 That said, good review. I'm planning on buying this bike this year.
these videos are a life saver, cheers m8. whats the part you install at 24:45?
Great bike! What is it's average consumption if you ride it civilly? Thank you
Great video and bike ,hope you made swing out of that back tire!
I see you use 40psi. What is the flow rate (SCFM) required by the compressor? Mine is a DeWalt 60 gal. 3.7hp and will push up to 13 SCFM. Is that sufficient for this rig?.
I've just done the same mod, for some reason I'm not picking up any mediato my gun no matter how much PSI or how open or closed my valve is, any idea what im doing wrong?
isnt it possible to divert some of the air to blast on the screen to keep it clear?
I loved my '72 XS-650. I bought it new for $1200. About 6 months later when I was going about 90 MPH at full throttle, my 650 went into a high speed wobble. Somehow, I was able to hang on. Scared the crap out of me. I took it back to the Yamaha dealer and gave them an earful. Their mechanic showed me how loose the swing arm was. He put the bike on its center stand and grabbed the back wheel. He pushed and pulled it side to side. It moved about an 1/8" in each direction from center (1/4" total movement). He said the swing arm bushings had failed and Yamaha replaced them under warranty. That little defect damn near got me killed. After that, I never trusted that bike above 80 MPH. It was great for riding around town.
I bought my new '72 XS-650 back in early '73. I loved that bike. I put about 25,000 trouble free miles on it before selling it. I had to sell it because I had nowhere to store it. The US Air Force shipped me to Maine for almost 4 years. I am fascinated by seeing the engine taken apart and put back together. Besides oil changes, the only work I did was replacing the clutch and adjusting the valves. The bike never left me stranded.
I know this is a super old video, but what vapor blaster do you use?
I converted a sand blaster. I did a video on it a while ago as well.
How did you like the 5th over drive? Did it work ok?
I feel like I can't give an accurate review as I've had too many issues with 5th gear. Before and after the swap. If I were to do it again, I think I would just experiment with sprockets.
@@2wheelworkshop Ok thanks, I am running a 32 rear sprocket and it works well, in most situations, but I have to slip the clutch a little more on take off. Gear problems can sometimes be a warped clutch disk dragging. I have had to deal with that when I first got it running again, after sitting for years
Okay that did make me cringe just a bit
Hey mate I’ve followed yours instructions up to the point with the test light and for some reason the light is staying on through full rotation. What have I done wrong?
Great job, nice vid
Great video..What handlebar are you using mate?
im guessing it was the pilot jet
Yeah mate
thank for such a down to earth descriptive video.
Thats cool but the jigs are like 20$ each why build
I wanted a quick project, I hadn't made a video in a while and I had scrap.
@@2wheelworkshop true good job then
This kind of method allows you to do any size. Bigger, smaller, doesn't matter. Pretty neat. He mainly taught the application of it, even if that wasn't his intention, he did it.
In the country where I am, we find nothing. We have to do everything by ourselves.
Diy costs 3x more and takes 9x more time than buy, so its 100x more satisfying
Hey mate. What size is the Poly T to fit on the pump? Thanks
Can we have the link to the detailed reassembly? I’m right in the middle of a 75 xs650rebuild..love your stuff
