  • In todays video, we're going to follow up from last time, in which I succeeded in getting the Abandoned 40th Anniversary Corvette to run temporarily on its own again.
    Of course, the car had very old fuel contaminated with water, so I'm going to illustrate how to properly drain the fuel tank and fuel delivery lines so we can get it ready for its maiden voyage through the neighborhood.
    Thanks for watching👍

    Thx for the video series, on this car. Enjoying all of them. Quick question... I see a lot of car covers, in your videos. Which car cover do you recommend? I plan to pick up a nice C4 soon, and unfortunately, it will be parked outside. However, I'd like to protect it, the best that I can... So... Which car cover(s) do you recommend? Thx, in advance.

    • @VetteSource
      @VetteSource  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Hey Shawn, I personally prefer the Budge Light brand car covers. They can be had for under $30 at your local Wal-Mart and will hold up for around 6-9 months before needing to be replaced. It's definitely a small price to pay to keep your outdoor stored cars somewhat protected.

    • @shawnlafontaine2320
      @shawnlafontaine2320 Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@VetteSource thx for the reply! I was able to see the Budge logo, in another one of your videos, and.. That's what I've bought. You've got some exceptional cars, and cover most of them, so I totally trust your recommendation. Also... I've bought my first C4, and I totally love it. It's a 92 coupe.

    Take it easy man. It would nice to see a video on replacing the outer and inner door felts on the 93 if it needs them? I believe the inner felts would be pretty easy cuz it attaches to the door panel but the outer ones need rivers?

    • @VetteSource
      @VetteSource  Před rokem

      Hey Timothy, will do. Slow and easy as I get into the summer months. Good idea for a video. I am going to use this 40th Anniversary car as a teaching tool since it badly needs the outer felts replaced at the very least.

    Hey feel better soon. I just adopted a teal blue green 94 with a six speed manual. Owner let E10 gas sit in it for 8 years and the inside of the tank looks like the hull of the titanic…😂 I removed the tank and did the pool acid flush. Seems to have worked but wow what a lot of work. Fuel injectors completely clogged. Removed & Soaked in lacquer thinner. Seems to have worked.
    Next challenge is clear coat is 80% gone. What should I do now? Can’t decide if I should color change the car or just repaint in Teal. It’s a very 90’s color LOL

      @VetteSource  Před rokem

      Hey Jamee, thanks for the well wishes. I am definitely feeling better day by day and should be up to full strength soon👍. Looks like you got yourself a great car in an awesome color. Sounds like you were just the person it needed to be properly resurrected, bracuse most people wouldn't put that much work into recovering an "old" 90's car.

    Ok this is weird timing. I just picked up a zr1 yesterday that I thought had a bad fuel pump. After pulling the hoses and testing the pump it was fine, but the "fuel" didn't look right. Ran the pump for a while into a gas can and got a couple inches of water. So I have to chase down the rest of the water in the system

    there is no specific reason a fuel system on a corvette would cause the fuel to turn milky white vs some other car unless you talking about the milk supplemental fuel injection system, special on the 40th Annv. I have not come across one of these yet.
