    I owned a 1968 Toronado from 2002 to 2015, black/black. Loved it tremendously. In 2007 I moved from the center of the USA to a coastal city, reslting in accelerating body rust that forced me to sell it. I just didn't have the resources to pay for a frame-off restoration, which it needed. Best of luck restoring you 1966 Toronado. It is, and will be, a beauty!

      Man, that would be another Toronado I would love to see, a Black/Black 68. Did yours have the matching black vinyl roof also? I have a Twilight Teal Metallic 68 Toronado with the aqua vinyl roof and interior stashed around here somewhere. I plan on pulling it out one day and showing it to you guys in greater detail.

      Yes it had a black vinyl roof also

    Nice Toronado, I also have a 66 Toronado, it was an Arizona car optioned with no a/c, the original must have been a mad man. Well he later moved to Michigan back in 1976 and let it sit until I bought it back in 2019

      Hey Justin, I think I've seen the videos on your car. The gold one, correct? I loved seeing you take it down the drag strip.

      @@VetteSource Yes sir that's the one! I'm currently pulling the new to me engine for my Toronado from a 442. Should make quite a bit more power this time!

    Congrats to you on your purchase. You know a lot about this car. I think it is great you own it. You invest and make this Toronado right. It has so much potential. I hope you will heal and improve on a personal level as well. Please take care of yourself and your Toronados as well.

    Does this car not have a VIN stamp on the block at the drivers side block deck surface behind the power steering pump?

    • @VetteSource
      @VetteSource  Před rokem

      No, the first year Toros didn't have that stamp for some reason. I believe it started in 67 or 68, but I'm not as familiar with the Oldsmobile stampings as I am the Chevrolets.

    How are rear quarters? Unless those trunk drain hoses are still intact, all the water running down rear window will collect in the sides of the trunk down in the qtrs.😒 I stuck my hand down there & the water came up to my palm.

    • @VetteSource
      @VetteSource  Před rokem

      One small silver dollar size piece of the lower quarter right behind the tire was excised many years ago, but the drains and tubes still look brand new with no corrosion and no water collecting in the inner quarter panels. Being inside for so long made all the difference in the world.

      Definitely, but with the amount of cutting the surgeons did at the back of my throat I'm surprised it works as well as it does.

      I've actually thought about putting a little lumpier bump stick in it to surprise everyone when I fire it up. I'll have to look at the exact specs to see what I can get away with.
