    ok, but now take it to the next level ...
    how binding most logically to DCS functions
    because all these buttons can be programmed to multiple functions
    it's not only fancy lights, but complicated programmable matrix sitting in this "black box"
    that's what really would interest the viewer
    edit : sorry, I was too fast to judge, I took the time to view all your in-depth vids and subscribed to the channel !
    especially your tours on how to configure are very interesting.
    keep this up ! especially making the various combinations between Virpil setup / DCS setups, so many combo's possible now.

    Nice video (Y) I do wonder though if you can use all the buttons when the throttle is using the 5 mode switch like in yours. I understand the limitation of 128 buttons is a windows item and not specific to any game. I have the panel 2 incoming and want to connect to the throttle as well

    not sure if you still see replies to this video.. but question.... I have a TCM503.. already set up and running. I just got the CP1 in today and want to add it to the TCM503. Do i need to connect the CP1 directly on its own 'first', then do the firmware update? or can i connect it to the TCM50 then do the firmware update from there?

    On the control panel, can an individual button LED be setup to change the button color when presed? For example button B7 is RED.. When I press B7 it changes to green and the same for the other buttons?

    just to be sure, should I first connect it independently and make a firmware upgrade and then afterwards connect it as slave to my throttle or can I directly connect it as slave to my throttle and make a firmware upgrade and configure it? (I have a control panel #1) thx, great channel!!!

    • @kisakuru5656
      @kisakuru5656 Před 2 lety

      I think I got it, you first HAVE to connect the Control Panel directly to the PC, configure it in the Virpil program as shown in this video and THEN connect/slave it to the throttle/joystick and create a new profile with both of them as shown in this video. There seems to be no alternative to this sequence.

  • @Shrike200
    @Shrike200 Před 2 lety

    Thank you for the videos. What is the primary purpose of 'daisy-chaining' the button box to the throttle? Only two things I can think of: having them show as one device (not sure how this helps as modern sims/games that I use all accept inputs from multiple devices), and secondly, saving a USB port (my PC has enough at the moment). Ergo, in my situation, I would just run them (control panels) as standalone modules?
    Secondly, you mentioned not doing firmware updates with more than one device connected - do you mean in a 'daisy-chain' setup (which I can imagine would be bad), or also as standalone setups? ie. The devices being shown seperately in the Virpil software, and selecting each one individually to do firmware updates? I would have thought that would be ok?

    I'm scouring the internet trying to find out the various advantage/disadvantages of using the control panel in slave mode versus direct to computer. My cable that allows slaving doesn't work anymore and replacements are backordered. I'm going to direct-to-computer while I wait this out, and I'm trying to figure out what I'm sacrificing besides needing two usb ports instead of one.

      I run everything as a primary. You can get a powered usb hub to connect all of your panels and hotas to one location.

    Any luck on getting the LED's to be singularly controlled by a function? For example, if Master Warning sounds off in a Jet, an assigned red LED would illuminate and by pressing it , would clear the red Master Warning? Similarly, if a Master Caution would sound off in a Jet, an assigned amber LED would illuminate and by pressing it, it would clear the amber Master Caution. Another example would be an LED assigned to landing gear where one press is RED for gear up and THE SAME button once pressed would go to green for gear down. Or two LED assigned separately for gear up / gear down (RED / GREEN). Perhaps it was NOOBIFER or someone else that was working on this. Virpil does not have their software able to do this yet (as I recall). You can control one LED only for on/off but that was about it and it's cumbersome. Maybe someday they'll have it incorporated into their software. If it wasn't you and you decide to take on this challenge, please do a video...yours are so easy to understand based on how you go about your presentations. Thanks as always.

    Hi and thanks for doing these videos. I just bought one of these panels. I have a couple of questions. After updating the firmware and changing some button colors I noticed that when I close the Virpil Config tool, the all the button lights on the panel go dark. Is this suppose to happen? Next, Flight sim and DCS is not showing the Virpil panel in the controls sections of both games. What am I doing wrong?

    Hey Jon, I really appreciate you taking the time with these videos, very helpful, I was wondering if maybe you could have a look at the VPC Link Tool? It's a tool that gets game data and allows you to manipulate the LED's on either the Throttle or their Control Panel, I'm a bit confused on how it works, but if you happen to figure out how it works a tutorial on that would be super useful!
