  • I go over the Virpil Link tool. This is a software that has been in development for a while and is coming along great. The link tool allows you to connect your game to your virpil leds. I am getting over being sick so I may seem a little out if it.

    I would love to have this functionality in Star Citizen for my panel 2 and Constellation Alphas.

      You're gonna have that function sooner than the released game 🤣🤣

    Thnx, this exactly the tool and tutorial I was looking for. Don’t understand why Virgil isn’t promoting it more.

    Fantastic! Thanks for the heads up on this. How does this mess with, or not, the mechanical button press settings for the LED's in the Config tool? Seems like it may be easier just to use this tool...sort of.

    Great video! Thanks for the explanation. My panels are on backorder, so I can't test this right away, but this is a great feature I knew nothing about. I notice the are two separate color columns. I was wondering if maybe they work as an "if...else" for the argument value. Do you know what the second column is for?

    • @JGandT
      @JGandT  Před 2 lety +1

      If you set your led to flash then you can choose what 2 colors would flash.

    I realize I'll have to use Joystick Gremlin and vJoy along with VPC software to get it to program a Virpil device. I'm about to go out the get CP#2 just to see how this all works with IL2/DCS and the GUI interface to program keystrokes for Keybindings other than direct X commands. Il2 won't go over 64 so I'll need to have a few of them to get by. I'm using TMWH Stick, Throttle, a BlackHog A, and a GVL Trim box. I want to replace the Blackhog with the #2 and #3 CPs. and eventually a CM3 base and Throttle. So, do you have an easier-to-follow guide on how to set up vJoy and Joystick Gremlin for Virpil? I'm one of those guys that think TARGET is the easiest piece of all-in-one programming for a Joystick setup there is. Of course I'm jaded, I've been using this TMWH since 2010.

    Does anyone know where I can find some more lua files to use with this? The included templates work nicely, but they only seem to cover 5 or 6 modules. The rest seem to just be placeholders, and I have no clue how to go about writing lua scripts. There must be somewhere where there are export scripts for all the modules surely.

    You could add "in transit" lights is you set two arguments like higher than 0 and lower than 1

    • @JGandT
      @JGandT  Před 2 lety

      You could go off of the mechanical gear location value and create a rule using that value.

  • @Federation42movies

    Hmm... I followed along to the letter, and I still don't get the arguments list showing.
    I do have my Ka-50 panel slaved to my Collective. I notice that when creating a device profile there's no option for a collective, but it should detect the colletive as a joystick, right?
    My MODE is set to Joystic+slave, and SELECT DEVICE is set to L-VPC Rotor TCS PLUS.
    Anyone else have the same issue?
    Edit: also there's no aircraft listed in the AIRCRAFT window

    Does VPC Link Tool need to run in the background for the LEDs to function in game or are the profiles stored to the device just like with the VPC Configuration Tool?

    • @Mightymoose02

      @@JGandT WOW! Ok, I'm going to take the dust cover off of my Sim-Pit and start looking for the link in the user forums on Virpil's website, which is where the download used to be and thread discussing the product and each and every change that the dude from Virpil's development team was making to it. But he was tied up with other projects and couldn't put a lot of time into it, so I knew it was going to be a long time. I got as far as controlling LEDs with those two scripts that we manually modify (as i recall)...been a minute. I'll get right on this.

    This was very useful, other than that !@#$$% looped music. Virpil's software is not, at least for me, very intuitive and so thanks for jumpstarting my efforts to make stuff go blinky!
