For now the Tornado is just a fancy Jaguar, but if it eventually gets full access to its IRL weapons it’ll be my favorite jet
I mean... Most of the armament it's missing is interesting and all, but I doubt it would be any useful in a game like WT. Maybe later versions like the british GR.4, german ASSTA 2 and italian MLU-IT would get more unique guided bombs and AA missiles, but apart from that I'm not sure about what would be missing
@@jfv2312 the most important weapon missing is it’s Mavericks, and HARMs but that gets a pass since their not ingame yet
@@mcdonnelldouglasfa-18c49 did all the IDS variants carry mavericks though? I've only seen some sources saying they were cleared for use with RAF Tornados, but so far I haven't checked on any pictures or manuals showing them. I hope Gaijin adds them, at least to the british ones...
@@jfv2312 not too sure, I have also seen RAF Tornados with them, as well as the Brimstone missile. German and Italian Tornados could carry bigger standoff missiles which could fill that role
All I want is ADV so that UK can finally get a semi-competitive top tier fighter, FGR2 is pretty ass at 11.3 right now compared to what it faces :/
The tornado as many other aircrafts in the game is why we need a PVE not only for helis but for planes too.

@@The_Mighty_Chicken_Man bomb then fucking run back to AF ASAP. After rearm, if ur team is losing. Just J out then quit the match (u won't receive repair cost if u J out after repair and rearm as long as u didn't move) if ur team is winning. Keep bombing. while going back to base, u may wanna use ur aam too to kill AI planes that's far away from the fight. Ur going back to your base anyway, why not spend it?

Kinda crazy how china gets an improved F16 with a different model, but Japan does not get the F2...
Tested all three using full fuel and droptanks (not infinite fuel setting, so that they were on low fuel at the end of the test). Climbed to 38,000ft and flew until almost empty (drop tanks were gone by this time, so clean configuration) and level flight. I managed to get speeds at altitude for all three: British GR1 = 1,242 mph, Italian IDS = 1,446 mph and German IDS = 1484 mph. Obviously you'd never get anywhere near this in game. I did other tests including various climbs and then acceleration at a couple of different altitudes and the margin of difference was pretty much the same, percentage wise.
Fun fact: the tornado GR1 irl had its engines upgraded to mk103s very early in its life, the german tornado is from the 2000s.

The British bombs actually make a big difference in air RB, you only need 5 British bombs for a base, while the GER/ITA tornado's bombs need 6 to destroy a base. That means in the Tornado GR.1 you can bomb two bases completely and have 2 bombs left for other targets, the others you cannot.
or take the spare two bombs off, and take a fuel tank

@@lewislaws6770 you have to take off 4 bombs to equip drop tanks, then you only have 8 left so can't fully bomb 2 bases

the british tornado is known for getting to 1600kph at sea level so hopefully it gets fixed

RIP to everyone thinking tornado f3 will fix Britain's top tier jets. The stage 1 radar is notorious in the RAF for being one of the worst fitted on a gen 4 jet. It was only until FA2 and foxhunter that the jet became competitive for BVR especially against even f15a block 10. There were even proposals to use the blue vixen radar from sea harrier and the APG 65 from the hornet because the stage 1 was that terrible.

We need to wait what these kormoran can do against tanks since the secondary capability is ground attacking but knowing gaijin there is a small chance
If the kormorans wull work properly against ground targets then it will be good

The USA is not the victim, they have owned the top tier air meta for about a year now.
UK has no reason to be using mk101s in game when IRL its tornado was upgraded to MK103s very early in its life and the Germany tornado is from the early 2000s
@@pringle239 Probably meant the F-104, which the US stopped developing after the C in pursuit of better aircraft, and then gave them to NATO allies who further developed them. Same goes for EJ Kai, among other airframes.

@@pringle239 I’m referring to Italy getting the F84 before the US years ago. And China getting the F5 before the US. I’m not talking about the MLU, it has 30 more flares… boo hoo. I was mad when the US wasn’t getting the ADF but they did. It would have been dumb if the Chinese got a better one like that. I have my own opinions on the F16 as a whole. But everyone is toxic in the WT community and won’t hear anything out. However, there are more cases of this happening to the US. I play multiple nations so it’s not like I main one lol. My opinions are as non biased as possible.

You (and EVERYONE in the content creator community somehow?!) forgot to mention the tornados each use a diffetent targrting pod.
The Tornado GR.1 uses the familiar TIALD and the Tornado ASSTA1 uses Rafael's LITENING II.

the huge offense with the tornados is that the event marineflieger one is 10.7 while the only difference being that it gets kormorans instead of GBs which are...arguably better assuming they can lock on to ground with the ground radar?
If it is 10.7 it's bc probably has no chance of shooting kormorans on tanks. Otherwise it should be 11.3 too. We'll see how it works tho cause it's not clear yet just my guessing.
The radar is able to lock onto and detect tanks from like 14-15km out in test flight. I suspect the accuracy may not be the best however, which might balance it
@@FredFake Gaijing just did remove the gound radar lock a couple of days ago, so this thing is a G91 at 10.7. The thing is that Gaijing did this when everyone was already grinding for it bc we all think it was going to have ground radar lock. Classic Gaijin move haha. We better get the 10 stars of the event and sell this shit

Prob just other loadout options. I hate the tornados flight model+the bs repair costs but it does make grinding the event pretty nice tho...(that fucker plane should came when the F14 or the russian su22 where introduced....
Not sure why the GR1 aproaches RIP speed at lower speed when the others dont ?
They used the operator manual for each of the different nations tornados. They give different numbers, so even though the planes are almost exactly the same they have different rip speeds, its ridiculous

you are doeing the same mistake everyone do comparing a bomber to fighters : reminder the tornado,jaguar and viggen are used as bombers with second fighter role capabilities these jets are similar to su34 and su24 fencer they are small bombers but not fighters obliviously you have to play them like you were playing a small b1 lancer or a small tu160 but you c ant do cobras or have supermaneuvrability in a bomber but for german fighters its true that in the game at top tier there are only german copies of american and russian fighters wich is sad because germany made some prototypes fighter jets in the end of the cold war like the MBB lampyridae or the MBB TKF-90 wich were built just didnt entered service sadly (like e100 and maus but for late cold war era planes)

@@primares8791 its a bomber plane not a fighter jet and its actually the second twin engine 4th gen bomber in the game with the jaguar just its a bit heavier but these planes were made to be closer from a bomber with nucler strike capabilities than fighters as they are heavier and were made to carry bombs if you grind the tornadoes you have to put in your head that you are basically grinding a mini b1 lancer
