IMO using high rank precision attack aircraft to bomb the same bases you bomb with interwar heavy bombers is a bit tired and old. They need to add precision bombing targets to Air RB which have equal or higher reward.
they should also remove the artificial nerfs on the A-10s and make them the same BR. Spread out ground targets (and add more) so theyre not all under the middle of the map where the inevitable furball happens add closer bases/priority bombing targets (like bridges) closer to your spawn for you to attack, that are only destroyable and visible to slow attack aircraft (and the team that needs to defend them) at top tier like the A-10s and anything that comes in the future that are THAT slow but too advanced to be in the prop BRs. Basically there should be bases YOU need to defend that are closer to the enemy air field but can only be seen by their A-10s since they cant actually get to normal bases or targets in time to bomb them. As a whole alot needs to be changed about Air RB to allow aircraft to do their roles rather than it being a "fighters or nothing" mode. (Su-25s and A-6Es dont need this because they are twice as fast as the A-10, and in the case of the SU-25 it can actually be a fighter and is severely under-BR'd with better missiles than Aim-9Ls)
In current stage this is very very far away fromm 11.3 BR. IT even turns worse than an 4 engine heavy bomber. It should get it's FM overhauled , get its accurate speed of 1480 kmph at sea Level and its BR reduced to 11.0 or even 10.7.

@@nbranski43 It didn't change, It was always 10.7, I tried it in testdrive and I was able to lock on ground targets at more than 35km away, if it's able to launch those fire and forget radar AGMs at such distances it will be one of the most devasting cas at top tier, you takeoff from af, launch all paiload, land, repeat until mission is over, profit.
Waited so long for the tornado and gaijin even said it's a 3-generation jet .. not a 4th like the mig 29 and the F-16. they should've added the tornado like 1-2 patches earlier and in the update Apex Predators they should've given germany for example the east german Mig-29.

Nah, it's not just the Tornado, A lot of the British top tiers have been dunked on. Every one of them with other country counterparts are worse, and the rest are put in battle ratings that make no sense.
The large tail and rear control surfaces look like they should have a large impact on the flight model. While I don't expect it to be up there with the greatest AC planes, it should not be that bad. The IDS /GR1>GR4 - I believe had devices on the air intakes that when removed (which in RAF service, I believe were removed) limited the plane to mach 1.3 (which at low altitude is still a very fast bird.). When carrying loads - speeds were limited to below this as each one had a max recommended IAS. I'll be interested to see if the F3 turns up. While it sometimes lacked thrust - it had the ramps in the intakes and I believe at low level - it was a speed demon. Higher up not so much, but still a mach 2.2 plane. It should be quite a missile truck..
It was the IDS that was fast on the deck and slow up high, the IDS engines were configured for low altitude since it was a low alt bomber as you know, the F2 variant of the ADV used the IDS engines, however the F3 was faster up high than it was down low since those engines were configured for high alt
@@FullThrottleRacing535 I don't believe this is really correct. The engines got 'tweaked' but not much, and the variable air intakes played a large part in the engine flight performance. In the GR1-4 I believe part of the airframe actually messed up air intake into engine 2 which played a part in its issues. The F3 low down was described by a pilot as 'nothing faster than that.' Some bold claims. I believe the acceleration claimed would be low level - What I do remember us being told on a visit to Leuchars soon after the ADV arrived: 1. It could out-accelerate anything in NATO short of an F-15 2. The stretched fuselage had lower drag than the IDS; in fact it was proposed to Japan as an IDS+ for their F-X competition 3. It could out-turn the UK-Phantom at all speeds and altitudes and the Lightning in some regimes 4. It could out-roll a Hunter and catch it in a scissor.. @@FullThrottleRacing535 Nah, he was right. The F.3 sucked at anything above medium altitudes, wasn't uncommon to have to plug one engine into reheat just to stay plugged into a tanker. On the deck though it was the only thing in NATO that could run down an F-111. At the end of the day its easier to turn a large fighter into a bomber (F-15E) than a bomber into a fighter (Tornado).

The tornado was meant to go really low, skimming over hills and ridges and hide in valleys, following a flight plan that kept it in radar shadow as much as possible, go fast and rip the enemy a new one. Especially against more static targets. And then the Alarm missile - you can use it as a HARM, you can also send it to a point where it will zoom-climb and dangle from a chute … waiting for anyone to turn on their radar, then it will drop the chute, possibly fire a second ‘stage’ to get momentum downwards and smash into the radar. And I agree, the tornado as shown here is not half the fun. Try bomb tossing (the on-board computer supports this) Or vertical dive bombing. It is not a dog fighter and even the ADV is more a BVR missile carrier than a fighter. Yes, you may have to think about your next moves in advance … not as much as the African Queen, though. Your job is to get in, screaming like a banshee, if possible from 3 or 4 directions within a few seconds, confuse the AA, have an ALARM or 3 loitering, and make them shoot everywhere and nowhere - if they manage to react at all, drop your bombs/ordnance on the targets, get out of sight again, go home, repeat… The JP233 is fun (and not compatible with the land mine treaty), basically dropping 30 shaped charge cratering in a row, which blast hole, the second stage, a cylindrical charge falls into the hole and goes off, increasing the crater and lifting the rim … harder to repair than just “pour in some quick-set concrete. The second part is what runs afoul of the treaty: 215 submunition mines, they self-effect, explode when disturbed or a timer runs out and if you drive into them with a bulldozer, they’ll be pointing their shaped charge in your direction (simple physics) and go off. Not so good when you want to clean the runway asap …

For clarity, it was able to stay on station, with refueling to a level that made it a good plane in its role (lets be honest, mostly escorting bear Ds or similar..) - and sitting over the falklands. It was a missile truck once developed, with a bunch of missiles and ability for its job. My understanding was that its mid and high acceleration were 'ok', but there was a gap at mach 1.2 where the intake change is needed. It could on burners push towards the fabled mach 2.2 - but this was fuel limited (mostly). At low atititude, from what I read - it was both a very fast accelerating plane, and one with an exceptionally high speed at low altitude. 'We could chase down anything' speed. While people viewed its job as high/medium. Given the missile truck status, I'd make a semantic argument that while its peacetime Bear D role was playing out, this amplified critical commentary of the type, if the missiles flew, my guess would be enemies would try low level. And if so the thing could amply do that role. In saying that, the plane had servicablility issues all its service life, so bending it at low level probably would be unhelpful....
the game has such serious BR problems that even lowering this plane from BR to 11.0 or so. it faces 10.0 and 10.3 aircraft that have neither flares nor nearly a missile as good as the L. The snail has to separate the planes much more the top tier from 10.3 onwards is absolute madness

We could expand up to a BR range of 15 or even 16 with no gameplay issues at all... but Gaijin have no interest in making the game ballanced or fair so it wont happen... at least not as long as people keep throwing money at them for new over priced pixel planes every 3 months
The Tornado GR1 is an abysmal plane in warthunder. Not an "apex predator" by any stretch, and it's slower than an F4 Phantom (or it's variants), so they will often take the bases. The GR1 also has painfully limited flares, which is miserable at high tiers missile spam meta. Your really just food for the mig29 (infact all high tier migs), the F16 and F14. Just get the harrier GR7 instead, it's better in every way.
For the time being it's br really need to go down since not every countries has their own 4th gen and Tornado is just 3rd gen idk why in the stream they called it 4th gen
9:40 GBU-16 are still 1000 lb Mk 83 based bombs so perfectly adequate. The issue according to Hunter is that Gaijin nerfed the penetration around a month ago for direct hits (i.e. Impact or 0 Sec Fuze), so you are better off using and actual fuze setting and thus bouncing the bomb underneath the tank.
The fact that this thing was lauded alongside the F-16 and MiG-29 this patch is kind of laughable. Sure it's a "4th gen" because it has fly by wire but it really flies more like a 3rd gen.
It should have been introduced alongside the F111 and the Su24. All three are twin seat swing wing interdiction bomb trucks, with the tornado being a bit newer.

Didn’t they do the exact same thing with supersonics and the javelin? Add in a plane that should perform much better than it does in game and then claim to fix it later after nerfing the stat card
@@TimsVariety I stopped playing War Thunder in early 2021, with the Javelin experience still sitting pretty fresh in my mind especially after the lukewarm addition of the Lightning afterwards,. Coming back to this is just a horrendous Nostalgia trip. Gaijin has a habit of botching British aircraft because of how they treat the manuals, such as how the British Tornado apparently has a lower wing rip speed to the German variant only because the British manual lists a lower top speed. The issue is, it seems like the Royal Airforce have a habit of listing speeds lower than their actual in order to stop pilots from breaking the toys, when in reality the aircraft were capable of far more, but that 'far more' falls outside of what was the accepted bracket of pilot safety for usual operation.
If you ask me, this thing should've been added alongside the F-14A or Mirage 2000C, not the F-16A and MiG-29S. In the Apex Predators update, we should've gotten the Tornado F3 for Britain and Italy, and an LSK MiG-29A for East Germany. It has no place at 11.3, and shouldn't be facing such stiff opposition in Air RB. I can easily see this thing dropping to 11.0 in the next BR update, possibly even 10.7 if it does bad enough. That would be ideal for Italy, since 10.7 is the highest our ground forces go, but I doubt that will happen.
The Tornado Flight Model is terribly bad giving it such poor maneuverability, when in real life it is not so agile but it turns much faster with the wings swept to the maximum and there are videos that prove it. It should have a twist a bit less than the Phantom II. The Tornado came out Gaijined. Hopefully in the future they will fix the flight model so that it stops being a brick, because it seems to me a beautiful plane, in all it's variants.
It should have been in game before the tomcat, and we should have the f3 for Britain and Italy at least. Doesn't help the flight and damage model is trash. The wings are made of paper and it handles like a bus. I think Germany and Italy have been a victim of gaijin half arsing yet another highly anticipated jet for Britain.
This is extremely off-topic, but my AIM-7Ms are acting very strangely, I get a perfect lock, I fire, and they nose dive away from the target and explode mid-air. My APG-66 is also really distracted by chaff even in PD mode. Is anyone else having these issues?
My aim7Fs have been dumer than usual lately. Missing shots agaings the IA sabres in a head on and so on. And when I press U to see them they are dancing left to right bleeding energy...
I've been having these problems in my F-14 and 16 too. Perfect shot parameters and the missile just pulls max G away and towards the ground. I found that sometimes it'll try to go back to the correct course but well, it's usually way to late.
I get a lot of these problems lately, they also seem to literally dodge the target they were intended for last minute, like wth. But i also have same problem with any radar missile in the game… that’s like since november.
To all the people in this trashcan of a comment section rambling about keeping this jet at its current br, what is wrong with you? I mean seriously, what is your problem? Your only argument for keeping the current br is because it carries 4 small GBUs, completely ignoring the fact that the jaguar carries 2 large ones along with 2 35Gs missiles at 10.3, but yeah, a completely unrealistic, bugged and unfinished flight model of the tornado cannot stay at 10.7 (the maximum br of italian ground forces btw), because 10.7 is its br AT MOST, you know it, yet some of you keep repeating that 11.3, (against f14, f16 and mig29) is a good br. I'm not going to argue with any of you, mostly because I've made up my mind, but please answer me this. Why some of you want some nations to perform so badly? Because it looks to me that this community seems more eager to label all gaijin's fuckups towards nations that aren't usa or russia as "acceptable", and I need to know why. Is it because you want to have an easier time with your nation? Is it a winrate thing? Tell me, I'm all ears.
What I thought was interesting was how the USAF could've operated the Tornado as they were looking for a new strike jet during the pre-Strike Eagle era to replace the F-111, but I do think that the SE is a very good ground attack jet and was worth the investment.
USA tends to make pretty poor decisions when deciding to adopt a vehicle when given many options. Examples being: M1 Abrams (really shouldve taken the Leopard there), M2/M3 Bradley, and the rest are mainly prototypes that we simply didnt adopt because we felt it was a little too expensive or something.

What cas jets for Germany. Lol between the g91 and the tornado there's a subpar mig 23 and a su 22 you know how often they get used in ground?? Never. The g91 was seeing 10.0 the two phantoms at 10.3 and 11.0 but the 10.3 only gets bombs with no ccip while the 11 gets two... Two mavericks
It's not even that no one thinks it isn't. It's just straight up troublesome to play. To make matters worse you're forced to play it as a fighter when stock because "No bombs?"

Do you plan on making a seperate review of the German Event Tornado? For some reason it sits at 10.7 and while not having any laser guided bombs it gets 4 huge Active radar Anti-ship Missles plus a actual air to ground radar.
Hmmm... AIM-9Ls shouldn't be locking the sun... unless I'm mistaken I'm positive that was an issue that was worked out after the first or second gen of Sidewinders....
The Br. system (and grind) is the games biggest problems, the Tornado now can't compete with the other ones especially getting uptiered to 11.7 every single match. But if you put it lower it's too strong against 10.0 planes.
The Tornado was designed to the wishes of the German Air Force, which wanted a Low flying Supersonic Strike Fighter, designed to fly @ mach 1 below Radar to Strike bases, Air defences and Tank Formations.

However if they added the IDS correctly with its right top speed on the deck this would still be pretty cool to have, once i found out they made the top speed 1400kmh i didnt even bother grinding it even though ive been wanting this bad, still going to grind the adv next update though.
I wanted the IDS to be honest but it shouldn't face F-16s and Mig-29s also it just wing rips so easily at high speeds and it can't turn which I doubt is the case IRL.

If you mean the Su22 or the F4F for germany as better CAS id disagree, I think the tornado will be much more useful than either. Of course, nothing is as useful as the tiger uht
Baffles me that we got the IDS/GR variants against Vipers and MiG29s. T8 I think was bodged in in the wake of the success of the 10th anniversary event and to keep those new players they gained. Britain doesn’t feel good to play at the moment, currently just over 30% WR because of facing endless F14s and F16s and even with when teamed with MiG29s we just annihilated within the first 15 seconds of combat and sometimes I’m lucky to even make it to a base to get bombs off before I’m jumped or hard radar locked with a missile and forced to break off.

This is why I didnt really rush to grind for it. I have the mig23mla and the f4f so I just decided to go for the f16 until germany recieves a mig 29 or a fighter variant tornado.
Knowing Gaijin and how they screw over German and British air every update, we will get a German Mig 29 or a competitive fighter around the time when usa gets a f-22 premium
I'm not 100% confident on this, but I'm pretty sure the LGB selection on the Tornados isn't quite right. Germany never bought GBU-16s in the first place, so the IDS in the german tree shouldn't have them, and about the larger LGBs, all of the Tornados should be able to take 2 under the fuselage, 3 in the later models with better bombs (because JDAMs don't need a designator pod). What I have more doubts about is the British GR.1 having 4xMk.13, according to the plane's wiki and other sources like Airvectors, the first british variant to carry the smaller LGBs was the GR.4 with the Paveway IV, but well... It's all a bit sketchy.
I've long felt the Tornado is what the F-111 was supposed to be.... But yet managed to have the same amount of development goofups, technical difficulties, and controversies. -shrug- I do kind of like the lines and look of the Tornado. Although it does seem....Chonky.... And the gigantic tail I think throws off the proportions
How many are driving a Formula1 car on the Ralley Dakar and complainig about how bad it is? Most CZcamsrs do it. This is a Monster on Ground Attack, low altitude and contour flight. Never planned as a air superiority fighter. What it can, does the Tornado.

i stood next to one of those things while it started. we were told that we need to wear kidney protectors when it accelerates, because the vibrations that the afterburner makes could harm us. it felt freakin lovely!

Gaijin must really hate British tree players, this plane just feels like a big middle finger to that tree. Why they would add 2 4th gen fighters into almost every tree and then just give them ANOTHER strike bomber is just so so sooooo stupid, so close to just uninstalling this game for good honestly.
There are no better CAS options for germany, the SU 22 they get has good ATGMs but has a horrible guidance soght which has no zoom and cant aim down making your plane into a kamikaze jet waiting to get mowed down by AA or get a rendez vous with the ground
Which CAS for germany at lower BR is better than Tornado??? Dont say su22, cos Tornado with 4 tv bombs is much more superior than su22 that has to get down to 2-3km to get a kill cant get out of the dive if you make a slight maneuver mistake.

For what it’s worth the Marinefleiger Tornado, the event one, is already 10.7.

Nah, he was right. The F.3 sucked at anything above medium altitudes, wasn't uncommon to have to plug one engine into reheat just to stay plugged into a tanker. On the deck though it was the only thing in NATO that could run down an F-111.
At the end of the day its easier to turn a large fighter into a bomber (F-15E) than a bomber into a fighter (Tornado).

The tornado was meant to go really low, skimming over hills and ridges and hide in valleys, following a flight plan that kept it in radar shadow as much as possible, go fast and rip the enemy a new one. Especially against more static targets.
And then the Alarm missile - you can use it as a HARM, you can also send it to a point where it will zoom-climb and dangle from a chute … waiting for anyone to turn on their radar, then it will drop the chute, possibly fire a second ‘stage’ to get momentum downwards and smash into the radar.
And I agree, the tornado as shown here is not half the fun. Try bomb tossing (the on-board computer supports this) Or vertical dive bombing.
It is not a dog fighter and even the ADV is more a BVR missile carrier than a fighter. Yes, you may have to think about your next moves in advance … not as much as the African Queen, though. Your job is to get in, screaming like a banshee, if possible from 3 or 4 directions within a few seconds, confuse the AA, have an ALARM or 3 loitering, and make them shoot everywhere and nowhere - if they manage to react at all, drop your bombs/ordnance on the targets, get out of sight again, go home, repeat…
The JP233 is fun (and not compatible with the land mine treaty), basically dropping 30 shaped charge cratering in a row, which blast hole, the second stage, a cylindrical charge falls into the hole and goes off, increasing the crater and lifting the rim … harder to repair than just “pour in some quick-set concrete.
The second part is what runs afoul of the treaty: 215 submunition mines, they self-effect, explode when disturbed or a timer runs out and if you drive into them with a bulldozer, they’ll be pointing their shaped charge in your direction (simple physics) and go off. Not so good when you want to clean the runway asap …
@@FallenPhoenix86 Sucking is a point of view. Careful review is required, and a lot depends on where in development cycle. For clarity, it was able to stay on station, with refueling to a level that made it a good plane in its role (lets be honest, mostly escorting bear Ds or similar..) - and sitting over the falklands. It was a missile truck once developed, with a bunch of missiles and ability for its job.
My understanding was that its mid and high acceleration were 'ok', but there was a gap at mach 1.2 where the intake change is needed. It could on burners push towards the fabled mach 2.2 - but this was fuel limited (mostly). At low atititude, from what I read - it was both a very fast accelerating plane, and one with an exceptionally high speed at low altitude. 'We could chase down anything' speed.
While people viewed its job as high/medium. Given the missile truck status, I'd make a semantic argument that while its peacetime Bear D role was playing out, this amplified critical commentary of the type, if the missiles flew, my guess would be enemies would try low level. And if so the thing could amply do that role. In saying that, the plane had servicablility issues all its service life, so bending it at low level probably would be unhelpful....

the game has such serious BR problems that even lowering this plane from BR to 11.0 or so. it faces 10.0 and 10.3 aircraft that have neither flares nor nearly a missile as good as the L. The snail has to separate the planes much more the top tier from 10.3 onwards is absolute madness

Better, A-10 gets up to 4x 9L's vs the Tornado's 2x.
We could expand up to a BR range of 15 or even 16 with no gameplay issues at all... but Gaijin have no interest in making the game ballanced or fair so it wont happen... at least not as long as people keep throwing money at them for new over priced pixel planes every 3 months
The Tornado GR1 is an abysmal plane in warthunder. Not an "apex predator" by any stretch, and it's slower than an F4 Phantom (or it's variants), so they will often take the bases. The GR1 also has painfully limited flares, which is miserable at high tiers missile spam meta. Your really just food for the mig29 (infact all high tier migs), the F16 and F14.
Just get the harrier GR7 instead, it's better in every way.
According to the souces I've read, the Tornado IDS (at least the ones with the mk 103 engines) should be just as fast at sea level as the F-16.
The plane doesn't need to drop in BR, the BRs just need to expand up! (And also separate Ground and Air BR's the way they do Arcade and Realistic!)
For the time being it's br really need to go down since not every countries has their own 4th gen and Tornado is just 3rd gen idk why in the stream they called it 4th gen

9:40 GBU-16 are still 1000 lb Mk 83 based bombs so perfectly adequate. The issue according to Hunter is that Gaijin nerfed the penetration around a month ago for direct hits (i.e. Impact or 0 Sec Fuze), so you are better off using and actual fuze setting and thus bouncing the bomb underneath the tank.
Would be nice to get the ADV, maybe even with the upgraded Skyflash Super Temp missiles for the British

The fact that this thing was lauded alongside the F-16 and MiG-29 this patch is kind of laughable. Sure it's a "4th gen" because it has fly by wire but it really flies more like a 3rd gen.
It should have been introduced alongside the F111 and the Su24. All three are twin seat swing wing interdiction bomb trucks, with the tornado being a bit newer.

@@TimsVariety I stopped playing War Thunder in early 2021, with the Javelin experience still sitting pretty fresh in my mind especially after the lukewarm addition of the Lightning afterwards,. Coming back to this is just a horrendous Nostalgia trip. Gaijin has a habit of botching British aircraft because of how they treat the manuals, such as how the British Tornado apparently has a lower wing rip speed to the German variant only because the British manual lists a lower top speed. The issue is, it seems like the Royal Airforce have a habit of listing speeds lower than their actual in order to stop pilots from breaking the toys, when in reality the aircraft were capable of far more, but that 'far more' falls outside of what was the accepted bracket of pilot safety for usual operation.

If you ask me, this thing should've been added alongside the F-14A or Mirage 2000C, not the F-16A and MiG-29S. In the Apex Predators update, we should've gotten the Tornado F3 for Britain and Italy, and an LSK MiG-29A for East Germany.
It has no place at 11.3, and shouldn't be facing such stiff opposition in Air RB. I can easily see this thing dropping to 11.0 in the next BR update, possibly even 10.7 if it does bad enough. That would be ideal for Italy, since 10.7 is the highest our ground forces go, but I doubt that will happen.
The Tornado Flight Model is terribly bad giving it such poor maneuverability, when in real life it is not so agile but it turns much faster with the wings swept to the maximum and there are videos that prove it. It should have a twist a bit less than the Phantom II.
The Tornado came out Gaijined. Hopefully in the future they will fix the flight model so that it stops being a brick, because it seems to me a beautiful plane, in all it's variants.

Doesn't help the flight and damage model is trash. The wings are made of paper and it handles like a bus. I think Germany and Italy have been a victim of gaijin half arsing yet another highly anticipated jet for Britain.
This is extremely off-topic, but my AIM-7Ms are acting very strangely, I get a perfect lock, I fire, and they nose dive away from the target and explode mid-air. My APG-66 is also really distracted by chaff even in PD mode. Is anyone else having these issues?

I've been having these problems in my F-14 and 16 too. Perfect shot parameters and the missile just pulls max G away and towards the ground. I found that sometimes it'll try to go back to the correct course but well, it's usually way to late.
I get a lot of these problems lately, they also seem to literally dodge the target they were intended for last minute, like wth. But i also have same problem with any radar missile in the game… that’s like since november.
To all the people in this trashcan of a comment section rambling about keeping this jet at its current br, what is wrong with you?
I mean seriously, what is your problem? Your only argument for keeping the current br is because it carries 4 small GBUs, completely ignoring the fact that the jaguar carries 2 large ones along with 2 35Gs missiles at 10.3, but yeah, a completely unrealistic, bugged and unfinished flight model of the tornado cannot stay at 10.7 (the maximum br of italian ground forces btw), because 10.7 is its br AT MOST, you know it, yet some of you keep repeating that 11.3, (against f14, f16 and mig29) is a good br.
I'm not going to argue with any of you, mostly because I've made up my mind, but please answer me this.
Why some of you want some nations to perform so badly? Because it looks to me that this community seems more eager to label all gaijin's fuckups towards nations that aren't usa or russia as "acceptable", and I need to know why. Is it because you want to have an easier time with your nation? Is it a winrate thing? Tell me, I'm all ears.
What I thought was interesting was how the USAF could've operated the Tornado as they were looking for a new strike jet during the pre-Strike Eagle era to replace the F-111, but I do think that the SE is a very good ground attack jet and was worth the investment.
USA tends to make pretty poor decisions when deciding to adopt a vehicle when given many options. Examples being: M1 Abrams (really shouldve taken the Leopard there), M2/M3 Bradley, and the rest are mainly prototypes that we simply didnt adopt because we felt it was a little too expensive or something.

The Br. system (and grind) is the games biggest problems, the Tornado now can't compete with the other ones especially getting uptiered to 11.7 every single match. But if you put it lower it's too strong against 10.0 planes.

However if they added the IDS correctly with its right top speed on the deck this would still be pretty cool to have, once i found out they made the top speed 1400kmh i didnt even bother grinding it even though ive been wanting this bad, still going to grind the adv next update though.
I wanted the IDS to be honest but it shouldn't face F-16s and Mig-29s also it just wing rips so easily at high speeds and it can't turn which I doubt is the case IRL.

Baffles me that we got the IDS/GR variants against Vipers and MiG29s. T8 I think was bodged in in the wake of the success of the 10th anniversary event and to keep those new players they gained. Britain doesn’t feel good to play at the moment, currently just over 30% WR because of facing endless F14s and F16s and even with when teamed with MiG29s we just annihilated within the first 15 seconds of combat and sometimes I’m lucky to even make it to a base to get bombs off before I’m jumped or hard radar locked with a missile and forced to break off.

This is why I didnt really rush to grind for it. I have the mig23mla and the f4f so I just decided to go for the f16 until germany recieves a mig 29 or a fighter variant tornado.
Knowing Gaijin and how they screw over German and British air every update, we will get a German Mig 29 or a competitive fighter around the time when usa gets a f-22 premium

I'm not 100% confident on this, but I'm pretty sure the LGB selection on the Tornados isn't quite right. Germany never bought GBU-16s in the first place, so the IDS in the german tree shouldn't have them, and about the larger LGBs, all of the Tornados should be able to take 2 under the fuselage, 3 in the later models with better bombs (because JDAMs don't need a designator pod). What I have more doubts about is the British GR.1 having 4xMk.13, according to the plane's wiki and other sources like Airvectors, the first british variant to carry the smaller LGBs was the GR.4 with the Paveway IV, but well... It's all a bit sketchy.

But yet managed to have the same amount of development goofups, technical difficulties, and controversies. -shrug- I do kind of like the lines and look of the Tornado. Although it does seem....Chonky.... And the gigantic tail I think throws off the proportions

There are no better CAS options for germany, the SU 22 they get has good ATGMs but has a horrible guidance soght which has no zoom and cant aim down making your plane into a kamikaze jet waiting to get mowed down by AA or get a rendez vous with the ground

Which CAS for germany at lower BR is better than Tornado??? Dont say su22, cos Tornado with 4 tv bombs is much more superior than su22 that has to get down to 2-3km to get a kill cant get out of the dive if you make a slight maneuver mistake.
