For low level bombing the cockpit bombsight is usually better, since at high speed at a low enough alt you don’t have to dive at all to see the pipper.
I find it kinda disgusting Gaijin adds this as rank 8 for 3 nations when its obviously a low rank 7 jet. I see minimal difference from this to the jaguar yet they decided to add it as rank 8 for some reason. Gaijin literally played randomiser with the ranks I swear wtf is up with f16 adf being before the standard. Makes zero sense. Not to mention ADF and Mig 29 should be 12.0/12.3 not fucking 11.7.
The Tornado's are not the same ...performance between each variant is a lot different. A lot! The British GR1 is a lot slower than the Italian IDS, which in turn is slower than tha German IDS.
You can also use the CCRP with the Tornado, which is very useful for bombing bases. Instead of flying low and trying to dip enough to see the CCIP reticle, you can use the keybind to switch between mission targets, and it will give you a target designation on the base. It lets you release your bombs precisely on the target in level flight, or even throwing them while in a slight climb. However, it can be finicky because it doesn't let you release the bombs until you hit that point.

@@matawg It isn't faster by any serious degree. It is sub sonic when carrying bombs... It carriers 2 guided bombs and no guided missiles, straight up unplayable. I have had probs 25+ games in it so far any only seen 1 other tornado and everybody agrees it is unplayable bad.

I've personally been waiting for the Tornado IDS either for Great Britain, Germany or Italy. I think the Tornado will be so underrated because everyone will be grinding for the F-16 Falcon and MIG-29 Fulcrum. But for me the Tornado is good enought to be playing from now on.
I mean tornado f.3 gonna be propably pretty good and better than F-14A, i hope they will add it in next patch, and im not even UK tree player, i just want to see in game, same with gripen for sweden, but yeah gripen is something that i will grind my viggen.
If anything, the Tornado is hugely overrated. It gets outclassed in its intended role in all tech trees it sits in and is just atrocious in air-to-air. This would have been fine 1 1/2 years ago, but not now. Even worse, it came *instead* of good planes which should have come this patch.

Britain its just useless due to the harriers, and italy Its meh? but at the same time germany somehow gets the best flight performance one. Personally I think as-well noones really looking into the maneuverability potential with its air breaks and reverse thrust which actually reduce thermal signature when on.

It is SOLID in sim mode and will typically get to the bases it needs to kill in RBs (unless there are 3 other tornadoes on your team), but it IS a flying brick with some... aerodynamic quirks. This is the first plane I started heavily using SAS on and it really can't pull out of a dive like many are used to doing with strike aircraft.

the modes are there but a certain snail never thought about separating them into separate que's so you dont get operation in a ki-200 for example or so you dont get super bomb heavy teams on small maps or so planes like the tornado could shine in modes like operation
There are couple differences between the 3 Tornados (besides the event one). The German one is faster than the rest, the UK Tornado comes with better bombs (explosive wise) and the Italian Tornado is in between (fast but isn't faster than the German Tornado + doesn't have the bombs the UK Tornado has).
I have the Tornado myself (UK) and have been enjoying every last minute of it but the sad thing is Gaijin is artificially nerfing the Tornado specifically the UK one because it could carry much better munition such as the Brimstone missile.

The F5c is still a great jet and a great grinder. It’s not as good for ground RB or for SEAD (anti-spaa) attacks but it’s still a lot better in a dogfight and a lot of fun to use.

It's an acronym based code system. GR means Ground/Reconnaissance (so the Tonka ingame is the Ground/Reconnaissance 1 and the harriers are Ground/Reconnaissance 1 and 3

If you take closer look down to bottom you see theat he is selecting bomb target, which could be done by quick menu (Z >default) under Weapon menu i think (Number 3). Take a look over the quick menu and you will find it here > Select ground target or something like that
The British get the one with the least powerful engines…they just had to find a way to shaft them par usual

and you kind of mentioned it but my main issue with tornado is that they only added the ground attack version which makes them pointless

if you search about the tornados loadout it should get 5 paveway 2s or 31000s or 2 2000s but instead it can have max 1 2000 and 2 1000s so tf is that?
