This is the second part of our trip from Central Florida to Prudhoe Bay Alaska.
There will be 2 more videos in this series, please subscribe to make sure you see them when they are released!
We did the trip on our used Suzuki V-strom 650 motorcycles. We had an arraignment of luggage, the main system was a Caribou luggage system with Pelican cases. We both also had Givi top chases for storing things like clothing and lighter weight items.
I did a walk through of other parts on my bike in a previous video linked here: • Suzuki V-strom Mods
Let me know if you have any questions in the comments
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS BEING LOST !!!!! You may be delayed a bit , but getting " lost" is sometimes the best part of a ride!!!😎😎😎 I tell folks " IF YOU ARE USING THE MAP TO FIND OUT "WHERE YOU ARE" instead of where you are going, you are having a great ride !!!!
Just want to say how much I enjoy these videos, love the perfect balance between the scenery and narration. I am frustrated so often when there is only one or the other. Good job!
Me too. Eric's are the best. Nice soundtrack too. Eric, did you prefer this to the TAT ride? Take it you wouldnt recommend taking the adv. bike on the TAT, I understand some do.
Oh, what's the drone model? I take it it follows you by bluetooth or something? Forgive me please.
@@zero2sixty420 I agree
After watching your videos, I got my motorcycle license last week and bought my first bike, a 2006 Suzuki VStrom DL1000
The adventures you two took look absolutely amazing! Can't wait to see more!
I love Crater Lake. What a beautiful color of blue. We all go down sometimes sir. As long as we can continue...it's all good.
Thanks for bringing us along on the trip! Great work! Godspeed to you
Thanks for posting guys you youngster did fantastic job really enjoyed congratulations
First LEGAL beer. I understand the clarification 😂. Great videos
Great video, love the pace of the story. Looking forward to part 3.
It is awesome that you recorded dropping your bike...I am a professional "dropper"!!
I've watched the first and now second video. Thanks for sharing your trip.
I ride a V-Strom as well, it's always fun seeing these bikes out on big adventures.
Bravo guys par excellence Travelog !
From my V-Strom, these bad boys are Tip-Happy, unless you're 6'2" + 34" inseam.
Which few are !
I'm 5'9" & 30 inseam, have already dropped her once.
Came close half a dozen times !
So I'm adding adjustable lowering links & will slide the forks to match.
Maybe 2" lower will be perfect !
Another great movie! One of my dreams is to go right across north America & this series is just making me even more determined to do it. Greetings from the UK!
What a ride guys. Totally Awesome!
Really love and enjoy your videos, definitely about to subscribe to see more!
Really nice . Your new windshield looks great. Perfect weather . People tend to dump unwanted dogs in those rural places thinking they will survive, but hopefully they have owners . It’s great u r finding people to stay with. Bikes seem to be holding up good. Those fuel economy numbers r definitely from your load . Less aerodynamic. M getting in the low 60s in flat Ocala Florida . U guys have inspired . After my April 16th surgery at Shands I’m going to start planning a trip after I recover . Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Nice job on the video production. I did Alaska a couple of years ago not to be missed.
Eric, that is wonderful riding
Great videos! Love the bike.
The trip looks amazing! The weight of the bikes must be playing a big role in the handling. Difficult to keep it up upright on the slants. Thank you for sharing this amazing adventure.
Oh absolutely, and one of the tallest cases was actually the tent, which was not a lightweight one... I learned a lot of lessons about weight distribution from this trip! I just had too much stuff overall.
Just came across your videos, so cool. I’m envious of the trip! I did Denver to Boston years back on a Ninja 650, cool experience.
Wow! Denver to Boston on a Ninja, sounds a bit cramped! I gotta say I loved the comfort of the v-strom for this trip! Safe travels!
Great videos. I am a fellow Floridian, Jacksonville, and am planning a NW venture, beginning in June. Can't wait to go!
What bike do you have?
I've wanted to do this trip for years but with a sport bike.
Just watched all your videos. Great job, super entertaining and inspiring. I live in north Georgia and planning the same trip next summer.
Thats awesome! Also I'll be riding through north Georgia in less than a month! On the Trans American Trail
you kids rock!!! I am in!!
Guys it was really a great video I’ve been to Alaska on my bike I rode a RT 1150 at that time and I actually stayed in Toca Lasca brings back a lot of good memories here I am at 76 numb still riding stay upright and stay safe
Great video guys.... I ride a V-STROM as well.... never any problems with it. Haven't left the lower 48 yet though....
nicely done trip full of adventures, I am Canadian and I love bike rides down to Your Country we are heading this year from Calgary Alberta Canada down to California to see the redwood national Park Sequoia National Park and death valley as long as by june they'll reopen the borders for travel with that virus affecting us all. Last year we did a trip to Utah it was a blast.
Dude this trip is a dream
Wear your gear kids. Something funny when I see you two say it. But you are so right. Another great vid. Glad I found you. It appears I have a lot of catching up to do with your adventures. Very cool.
Great video
Awesome 👍👍
This is super!!!
I also had a woodpecker nest in my cabin this year.
I was sooo close to put it to sleep forever.
Ah, we've all dropped the bike- you live and learn ;-)
Following your journey to Alaska. Great series bro. Subbed! Next time y'all make it to Las Vegas, hit me up. I got a group that would love to ride with yall!
Those who ride on long tours download “maps me” or “here we go” on your phone, always carry a secondary phone as well with with both or one of these app incase your main phone or gps stops working. Has helped me numerous times
Man, you make it look so easy. I guess actually it is. So far I've only done 2 overnight trips down to Leakey Texas from Fort Worth Texas. There is a route down there that is one of the most highly rated day trips in Texas, called the 3 Twisted Sisters run. I'm getting prepared to head to Colorado soon to escape the 100 degree weather and take in the scenery. Who knows I might head on over to California too.
You're so close to some really beautiful and diverse areas! Utah and CO!
that broken windshield looks like a goring waiting to happen----ouch
Good video
Thanks!
mr. Suzuki would be proud
mr niceguy I hear you !!!! Rode the 4 corners in 87 on my gs 750 , 10.200 miles in 3 weeks alone 😎 loved my Suzuki! ! Sold it with 93.000 miles 😎😎😎🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
I really like your Drone Video. I am new to Drones. Can you tell me what kind we need to be looking at. Going to CO this August
What an awesome trip! I am looking to do next year, I am a fellow Floridian. Would you mind sharing the route and lessons learned from your experience?
I talk about routes/roads we are on a lot more in the first video. And ya I think I will make a video explaining the trip/gear etc. I'm trying to get that all done before my next trip this September. TAT - Trans American Trail
Eric , I hope you start making videos again soon.
new jersey is also the only other state with full service gas stations. it was made to create jobs and it did.
I camped in alaska, too. The sun being out at 1am is cool but after a while, it ruins your sleep if you dont have a sleep mask
We actually had a dark tent, so it would block out the sunlight surprisingly well! Which helped quite a bit.
@@DaddyEric222 OOOOOOOO if i knew that existed, i would have opted with that -_-
What's your setup luggage wise? Exactly what gear are you using for your storage (tank bag, side boxes, etc.)?
What riding gear do you recommend? Just bought a vstrom and I am looking for mostly on road riding gear.
Klim has some of the best equipment out there! Plenty of other brands have good stuff too. Many websites have videos showing all the gear, so just watch some of those videos and they'll help you pick
Beautiful scenery! What time of year was it when you left the Continental States to enter Canada? Looks like you had good weather most of the time. My buddies and I are planning a trip from California to Alaska in July next summer if Covid 19 restrictions allow for travel to Canada by then.
Sounds like an awesome trip! We entered Canada in late June.
THose panniers on your bike? Those pelican cases? If so how did you attach them to the bike? Cool videos. Enjoyed watching them.
Caribou luggage system, google it!
What Moto quest book did you use?
where do you place tour camera
That dirt rd near crater lake looked hairy ...
I learned my lesson. V-Strom doesn’t come with an automatic foot peg.
Hi all,, your looking good,,,if you have time to answer a question I'd appreciate it,,I ride a 650 vstrom an I need a R tire,, I'm running a 150/70/R17,, I'd like to have a good tire for gravel an back roads I spent almost all time off like that,,,,I love your spirit,, I lived in Kodak for 8 years,,,thxs for taking us with you,,,if anyone else reads this ,any suggestions on the tire would help an also where to get them at a good price,,,,gb
michelin anakee 3 are the tires for you. Matthew loved them, and they lasted the entire trip.
@@DaddyEric222 thxs,,wish I was 20 years younger,,I'm envious of u 2,,ha,,,hope you keep having advancers,,gb
Hey how thorough did they search y’all a stuff? Cause when I do this I want to bring a sheet of LSD and will have to figure out a way to get it through
Even though we had to wait for quite a while while they searched the bags, they never figured out how to get the seat off, and the v-strom has storage under the seat. Also drug offenses are less over there. They where really just looking for a handgun, that I did not have. Enjoy your "trip"!
Well as long as your phone is ok....... kids.....did you guys ever ride a bike before going on this trip?
If you did it again would you take a vstrom an what's were your biggest problems with the bikes
Great question always concerned about mechanical issues drivetrain issues much will appreciate info
Hi, i do own a 2016 650 xt. Live and ride this thing like a Ktm in rough terrain. Very hot over here. In the 40ies or 110+
Only isuse in 20 k : fuel pump filter stuck whilst using bad lokal fuel from bottle... as trip was longer than planed. I do river crossings, jumps, bad fire roads, sand. I am so surprized what it can do. Needs to be careful with bottoming out. But still, so forgiving!
I think the riders silence (i.e., no reply) pretty much answers your question. Just cough up the dough for a BMW! Pretty much all you see up there. Suzuki is not exactly a flagship brand.
As a mid sized Adventure bike. You can’t go past the 650 V-Strom. I’ve owned 2 different 2009 models and have traveled over 30,000 kilometres around parts of Australia.
So did you pick up the broken windscreen your partner threw in the brush and pack it out???
yes we did!
lug is more keep it light
Ya I had wayyyy to much stuff
You are getting better with editing each post. Checked out your channels some good ones Forty Times Around and Living off the Slab are good ones. Check out Richy Vida he is really good has some epic tours.
Washingtons mostly freeways? U went I5 the whole way. We have less freeways then almost every other state...
What are you talking about? Hole in the ground style toilets? Im Canadian and Ive been all over Canada literally. And every rest stop or truck stop etc... has toilets. Ive not once seen a “hole in the ground” style toilet.
you went overkill on the bikes should a got drz400
Yay another CZcams biker
Was enjoying your video blog until you started whining about Canada.
Fair enough, I complain a good amount.
That worthless method for gas stations, keeps people working. so it is very worthless.
you gotta be one of the worst motorcyclist ive seen.
Why don't you rag on Canada some more!?!? Roads are boring, prices are too high, we don't have our gas price posted just the way you like it......stay home then if home is what you want.
Wow another CZcams lowrider
You are not qualify to be a rider. No excuses that the tank bag is open.
