  • This is the first part of our trip from Central Florida to Prudhoe Bay Alaska.
    There will be 3 more videos in this series, please subscribe to make sure you see them when they are released!
    We did the trip on our used Suzuki V-strom 650 motorcycles. We had an arraignment of luggage, the main system was a Caribou luggage system with Pelican cases.

    Congratulations. I rode my '81 Yamaha VX 920 from Miami to Anchorage in 1988. For me it was a matter of practicality. I had toured the Anedes for over 6 months and my round-trip ticket from Anchorage (where I lived then and now) had expired. I could buy a like-new used Yamaha for less than a one-way tcickt home!

    I’m 3.22 minutes in.....I’m subbed and will now be binge watching the channels entire content. I already know the vids are going to be great, well balanced and enjoyable. So many channels just have music overlayed on the video and I can’t watch them. I want to experience what you’ve experienced isn’t that the point? I want to see you interact with people, the audience, I want to hear your bike, see the landmarks etc. I’m a Brit biker who’s disabilities restrict adventures, I still have them but on a minor scale. I already know I’m going to be captivated, excellent job young man!!

When you were at the Grand Canyon it reminded me of my trips to the Grampians here in Victoria a lot smaller but very magical. WONDERFUL video, Eric! I own a 2017 Vstrom 650XT (sort of a present to myself for my 72nd birthday). LOVE the Strom! Your narration and editing are great - keep doing vids! BTW, what size (number) are the Pelican cases are you guys using? And what top cases? Thanks for you time and vids. I'm sitting at home in the hills of SW Colorado (near Durango, 7550 ft elevation) under 7 inches of new snow and zero degree F temps - so you vids are a GREAT respite from the weather. Thanks again! - Ray

      They are 35L I believe. From Caribou luggage. I had the Storm version and Matt had the Pelican. The pelican latches were better and more water tight than the storm! But both worked very well, and I use the cases still today for video and photo equipment!

      jim wortham After the Dalton Highway we both changed out chains and sprockets. It was giving us quite a bit of clunking sounds. Which the sound was mostly because of the sprockets. My X ring chain was alright while Mathews was definitely time to replace. We would wax our chair ever other day normally.

    Well on my bike I get 65 mpg from md (where I live) to Alaska is 3,422 miles away that would only be 53 gallons and current national gas price average is $2.164 a gallon jus to be safe I did the math at $2.5 a gallon that adds up to only $264 in gas there and back I can sleep in a tent so no housing cost it’s a 3 day drive there 5 days there 3 days back that’s 11 days of food and water honestly could prob do it off $325 as I don’t eat much but to be safe $1000

    • @DaddyEric222
      @DaddyEric222  Před 3 lety +1

      Yep! Lodging is the cost that can add up the quickest, so if you cut that out, or just plan a couple motel days. That can really help the overall cost. Because everything else is relatively cheap.
