  • How to Install Blower Motor Resistor Control Module on your 2007.5-2017 Chevrolet, GMC, or Buick.
The Cheap Blower Motor Resistor Control Module Fixed My Truck: amzn.to/3tFWr6d
See step by step how I replaced the blower motor resistor control module on our Chevrolet Silverado to fix the A/C Heater Blower Motor only coming on sometimes. I was expecting to have to replace blower, but to my surprise simply replacing the resistor control module fixed the intermittent blower problems on our 2011 Silverado 2500HD, and for only $28 bucks, turned out to be a cheap and relatively easy fix.
    1:05 How-To Begins
    1:21 Resistor Control Module Location
2:08 How to Open Glove Box All the Way Down
    2:37 Install of New Resistor
    Symptoms:
-A/C Heat Blower Would Only Work Sometimes
-Occasionally it would kick on at full fan speed
-Then A/C would randomly blow air after hitting bumps
-And after a while it would only work seldom if ever
    Fix:
    -Check fuses
-Replace Blower Motor Resistor Control Module

I ordered a transistor and motor. Both from E bay, totalled about $50! What I have done for now, is to take the plastic cover off. Probably won't put bac on. Don't think it matters much. • @EscapePowerSports

sounds like the blower motor itself is not coming on which I believe could be either this part or the motor itself, there are some pretty good diagnostic videos if your good with a multimeter but its beyound my mechanical skills, knowledge, and experience so I just started with this part and it fixed the problem for me. Are any other connectors used by GM to mount the resistor? My 2011 Silverado appears to have something else rather than torque's screws ànd I haven't been able to remove the original resistor. Possible rod with a round clip???

hmmm I honestly have no idea as that sounds like some sort of strange electrical problem, but the part is so cheap I'd probably give it a shot and see if it has any effect on the functionality of the blower and/or wipers. Pretty much what's happening in my 08 Silverado. Now it wony turn on at all
I had a mechanic look at it he said that there was power getting to the blower motor and he says that the blower motor is bad would that still be the case if the resistor was bad

    • @EscapePowerSports
      @EscapePowerSports  Před 4 lety

I'm honestly not sure at all. If you trust your mechanic he does this everyday for a living and I only tried this fix that one time so I'd stick with whatever he says. If you don't maybe get a second opinion, but that sounds reasonable to me what he's saying about the motor getting the correct amount of power. Let us know how it turns out.
