This is a pretty straight forward job IF YOU HAVE THE RIGHT PART. There are many different resistors out there that say they will fit your rig that have just enough variation in their design to mess up your day because you have to send back the part and look for one that actually fits. Check this video out to see which resistor will ACTUALLY fit your truck or just click the link below and see for your self.

Oh yeah, same exact unit muh man. "so far" is right! I'm waiting for the January-February freeze. I've been a little more conservative with my heating oil this year so I can crank that puppy up during that time. 12-15 inches of snow called for here in Juneau. Stay safe out there!

My 97 Chevy k1500 has the same issues but it’s summertime so it on A/C
Only works on high. Seems like it cools in the morning but in the afternoon it feels like there is not much airflow. Like the speed in high is not high but medium. Is there something else that could be the issue for there not to be much flow through the vents?

Hello Indy and thank you for the question. It sounds like you might have a failing resistor issue my friend. Another air flow issue I had with my 2001 GMC Sierra 3500 was caused by a dirty air filter. At the time I honestly didn't know that these trucks had air filters in the vent system. Ultimately I just removed the filter altogether and now I get fantastic air flow. I've also had to change the blower motor on both the 2001 GMC Sierra and the 92 Chevy Silverado k1500.

I changed the large round filter under the hood is there one under the glove box? Like a cabin air filter?

@@AnthonyAlfaro22 I'm not sure about the 1997 but my 2001 had a cabin filter just under the glove box and too rhe left. There was a small access panel that I would have never noticed had I not been looking for it.
