    25 degrees outside I banged on blower motor. Nothing. Swapped the resistor and I'm good as new. Not to mention the resistor is half the price of a blower motor. Good video much appreciated.

      That is an awesome story thank you 🙏 for sharing that with me it always puts a smile on my face.
      If you’re interested I would like to start a new thing on my channel because I get comments like this fairly often not as much as I would like to see but I’m sure it happens more than people tell me.
      When you’re somewhere out in public sometime and you see somebody who may be a need walk up to them and hand them $10. And tell them that a stranger hhelped you so you’re helping a stranger let us know how it goes (if you’re willing to do it) it’s definitely not necessary nor will it be frowned upon if you don’t
      I’m going to try to get strangers to help strangers because I think it’s awesome. God bless have a great day.

    To use a test light to check fuses you need to connect the wire clamp to the NEGATIVE post not positive. That is why it did not work.

    Motor brushes are not magnets, usually carbon or graphite. Also there are 4 screws holding the cover over the hvac area in my 2004, two are over the transmission hump and two over the passenger foot area. I'm guessing someone had yours apart before and lost one or two.

    2010 GMC Sierra fan quite working couple weeks ago again, this time instead of the resistor for the second time in 5 months I got a new fan, coming home from work yesterday fan started running only on high stayed running even with key off had to pull fuse to shut off (haven't put new fan in yet just got here yesterday also) so now I'm confused because when this happens that usually means the resistor (solenoid) what ever you want to call it is bad again which would be #3 in five to six months. So now I'm thinking replace resistor and fan. Any idea's.

    • @sharpcarco
      @sharpcarco  Před 4 lety

      Yeah that’s crazy because I would think that that was the blower motor resistor as well. But it could mean that your blower motor is pulling too much amperage and causing your blower motor resistor’s to go bad. I’ll also look very closely at the connectors make sure they’re not melted because this will cause a Over amperage draw all is well in turn making your blower motor resistor fail prematurely

    what about a blower that works intermittently? any suggestions on that? I am going to replace resistor first and see what happens.....

    • @sharpcarco
      @sharpcarco  Před 4 lety

      More than likely if the blower motor works intermittently you’ve got a bad connection between the blower motor resistor and the blower motor itself like a melted connector or it could be the connection between your control unit and the blower motor resistor you’ll know when you start taking it apart I would assume because the wires will look melted so wiggle the wires before you go ahead and try to replace it.
      If you’re able to tap the blower motor and make it work then you definitely need a new blower motor and the blower motor resistor won’t help you hope that information is correct I wish you the best brother because it’s cold outside have a great day

    • @sharpcarco
      @sharpcarco  Před 4 lety

      ranger4327 Yes that’s what I’m referring to he will need to check and make sure it has power going to the blower motor resistor and then if it has power at the blower motor resistor make sure it has power at the blower motor itself

    • @sharpcarco
      @sharpcarco  Před 4 lety +1

      @sharpcarco  Před 2 lety

      Well did you watch the video? I am certain I would’ve told you in the video that it was the blower motor resistor that causes that problem it’s very seldomly the actual switch but it is possible generally highly unlikely though….
      Do me a favor when you don’t wanna watch someone’s CZcams video because you don’t need all the information in it turn the volume down and restart it, it kills the analytics of the channel by only watching a couple of seconds of it. and how to videos are the most useful videos but also the least watched videos in form of percentage which is a big deal to the algorithm for CZcams.
      Thank you very very much welcome to the channel we’re very happy to have you even if you only watch part of our videos lol
