Thank you! You saved me a lot of grief and wasted time/money today. Was getting prepped to replace a passenger-side splash shield, which requires removing the tire first. Got the lug nuts off and then struggled with the tire for a few minutes until I realized it wasn't going anywhere. Searched CZcams (God, I love YT!) for a solution and bam! There you were!

I tried the first method tightening it and using extension and it came out. After much grief using the punch method and just putting it on the lug nut stud and pulling it which didn’t work..👍

Hi Clay! I did the bracket install this weekend. Everything went exactly as you said it would. Funny enough that body clunk I had in my rear passenger side was 100% that rusted out box! While we had it on the lift, we did suspension and hubs on all 4 corners. So hopefully your fix will get me a few more years on the car, would have sucked to scrap it with only 143k miles. If the other side fails I'll definitely be back for another bracket!

I have a 2007 Chevy Silverado New Body Style, 5.3 Liter, How hard is it to put the block back on once I inspect for any corrosion ? My truck will not crank / start and when I try I see the check engine lite on, Battery OK, Grounds OK, Mega Fuse OK, All Fuses OK, Relays OK, Tapped starter and still no crank. Any idea of the problem ? Thank you.

Thanks for the video. Nice work! I'm commenting in the event my own situation might help others. Problem was the passenger front door of the CRV would "sometimes" not open the door. The driver would have to open the door from the outside. After removing the panel I sat in the passenger seat and tried just pulling the rod that attaches to the interior handle. Worked every time! I then re-attached the little cup with the interior door handle and was back to the old situation. Grrrr I completely removed the latch with the gangly rods and finally managed to wrestle it out. I thoroughly cleaned it all off using carburetor cleaner. Dried it out and ran a dremel tool with a wire brush to smooth things out on corroded metal. Then doused it all with white lithium grease. Put it back together and STILL, the issue was there. I finally noticed that when the rod worked every time, it was actually traveling further than it did when connected. What i finally did was to NOT insert the rod through the small hole of the handle. Instead, i pulled it farther so it just hooked over the edge of the door handle. The little plastic clip snaps over the rod and keeps it in place. It was a bit of a challenge to get the clip over the rod but it works every time now!

You can run a hot wire to the battery with a inline fuse holder and get a good ground and the seat will work perfectly....

Easiest way to do it is take the two small screw loose on the front of the starter (old one)a large section will come off and you can easily access the bolt I learned this when a mobile mechanic came to do mine he said he would be done in 20mins and about a hour later he gave up and left (no charge) I'm a general contractor and I've never gave up I couldn't believe it so I grabbed a big sawzall blade and was going to cut it in half 😂but saw the two small screws and it came right apart

Thank you for this detailed video! I did this on a 2011 2500 Sprinter and took a shortcut. To work around some customization, I removed only the four front bolts. I had to drill two out and managed to unscrew one. I couldn't access the other three without damaging a custom cabinet. With that, I was able to flex the board enough to complete the job. That saved the custom work and saved me some effort also. So it isn't absolutely necessary to remove them all, in case that helps anyone.

Funny story. I just purchased a 2006 Ford Escort. This morning I went out to go to the store, but when I tried to start the car, it would not crank over. I panicked. Tried to jump it with my other car and had no luck. Then I came in and watched your video. About a minute into your video, you mentioned the key! Well, I remember the owner saying they just replaced the battery in one of the two keys they gave me. I tried the other key and it started right up!!! It looks like I have to program the key. Thanks for posting. I was about ready to call a tow truck.......
