      It looks way worse in the slow mo.. he did straighten (as in lessened the angle) but judges view was that the car didn't stop sliding fully so not a 0. So he was heavily deducted for it but scored a run..
      I haven't seen every angle (and neither have you) so whether thats 100% of the reason or if there is some politics is just guesswork / falling on one side of a split hair..
      It didn't affect anything either way as he didn't qualify.

    It is very interesting to see some guys having pushed forward, like Conor (and generally the Irish guys) is favored all the time by the judges, also Piotr has some very very questionable decisions (like here...not 0 for straightening, also last year in Poland they let him go with a wheel clearly not in place). He is my favorite, and I feel sorry not seeing him in the mix, but those decisions puts a lot of questions about judges impartiality.
    Anyway, congrats to Lauri, a very humble guy, he is not showing off, but at the end of the season, he will surely be the champion, due to his great consistency.

      I'm Irish, and I'm not biased over it, but you may think I am. However I genuinely don't think the judges are partial to Irish drivers. Sure they love Connor and James but that's because they're genuinely huge names in drifting overall. Sometimes they just outperform to the point where it seems like favouritism

      @angelwalker. Před 3 dny +2

      Na it was for a split second and he was definetly on the fastest run. Anyway judges might have rewarded for him going fast and at 26th the chances of him actualy making it to 32 was super low.
      Also last year it wasnt his fault when they took him out that supposely he hit the lead car making him spin out. I can assure you irish are defiently in a bit of advantage because of the irish judge.

      @fastmax848 Před 2 dny +3

      @@s2rgeants Well, as an outsider it is very visible that Irish judge slightly put in advantage some Irish drivers, especially Conor and Deane. Don't get me wrong, they are still the best judges in the business, and the Irish guys are very good. I don't believe that Conor is not a great champion, but last year in Poland, there was some OMTs that was very questionable with him. If you are objective, you see that some competitors have advantages before others, just watch the Irish and Finn battles, for the better example.

      There have been many instances where the verdict in pairs riding fell on Shanahanwóe at a time when even the commentators who had eaten their teeth on drifting were greatly surprised.... It's probably also unfortunate that the most evenly matched duels are usually with Poles and unjustifiably many times they pass and in the justification we hear that they made some more mistakes... No justification since everyone on the track could see who drove better.... But you know, you have to make someone the best... And from today's qualifiers 0 for "Więck" however justified, no sense that they gave him points when he had no chance to advance anyway...

      Yes hydro and big angle kit but to keep the cars out in the zones while not correcting angle or slowing too much or many other tools people use to slide cars around being penalised in competition where people are trying to go as fast as they can (while sticking to what the judges are looking for)
      Cars are not designed to be driven on full power, sideways, while braking and kicking the clutch..

    HEY!!!
    you screwed up the next round by running the first part of the qualification in conditions that were in no way competitive. I hope you are aware of this and you take all the wrecked bodykits of the best drifters in the world on yourselves. What happened in the first part of the qualifying was criminal... and it was enough to postpone it for an hour where the conditions had already improved significantly - it was evident from the last 2-3 drivers in the first runs. It's hard to count how many drivers ended up on the bandaus because you wanted to organise drifts on the ice.... You could always organise a quali on Saturday morning, I think you would find time for that and it would be more of a sporting event and not a lottery game. You have the best drifters in the world and zero respect for them and their cars....
    Good luck to those who managed to do well in one run in tomorrow's competition. I hope it will be more like a competition than a lottery...

    • @Amateurstrongman
      @Amateurstrongman Před 2 dny +2

      @@marcin6904 let's break down the many many reasons why DMEC or FD don't just "postpone" when there is rain.
      1) good drifters have practice in the rain and know how to put down a scored run in wet conditions. Part of drifting at this level is that it will be wet sometimes and if you are truly the best, you will know how to handle it. This is why at FD Atlanta in 2019 or Long Beach this year you still got chaseable, competent runs despite the standing water. Because the very best can handle it. Why should they lower the standard for worse drivers?
      2) the staff at the track are just employees. They are scheduled for a set amount of time. If they postpone, all of those employees manning the gates or concessions or working the recovery vehicles, cleanup, etc. all have to work longer as well. They are humans, with lives and with a right to fair work conditions. They aren't machines.
      3) they are live on Redbull TV. Redbull probably spends a lot of money on what is live when and what gets promoted at what time and making sure things don't conflict too much. If they postpone for a couple hours, they're now potentially in something else's livestream time, creating competition and drawing views away. Sponsors are in it for that viewership and that timeslot. They want their brands promoted to a certain audience at a certain time. G2A or Strom or whoever wouldn't be happy if the livestream got half the views because it ran behind and everyone decided to watch MotoGP instead or something.
      4) people paid to be in attendance. They do not want to be their at midnight because qualifying got postponed over and over. They have kids. Jobs. Homes to get back to. Imagine paying for a ticket and then having to take your kids home without seeing any qualifying. You'd be pretty upset.
      Also, those bodypanels are literally just fiberglass/carbon fiber/kevlar/whatever. They aren't actual brand name boujie body kits like you'd see on a show car. They're cheap(in comparison) replicas literally meant to be torn off and put back on repeatedly.
