This helped out so much I'm doing a drive across Canada and I'm 4000km away from home and about 200km from a mechanic who can speak English and it's currently 7pm so everything is closed, (I'm also car camping so this honestly saved my life/ sanity) thank you for this ❤

Just bought the wife an '06 Trailblazer. The blower works on 1-4, but not on 5. I'll get up under there and see if a zip tie will fix it! Thanks so much for posting this! I've been wrenching on cars for 41 years now (since I was 16) and cheap fixes are still OK by me! Also, it would appear that your wife's Trailblazer is missing the plastic kick panel under the glove box, unless you removed it and didn't show that part.

You may never see this, but THANK YOU. I live in Fort Worth, Texas….OMG the summers are HOT. I can’t live with no A/C. I love Zip ties…hahaha. I was tickled. My husband died from cancer a few years ago and so I’m Ms Fixit on his Chevy Silverado. It’s getting old but I don’t care. I love that truck because he loved that truck. And yes I do do the mechanical work whenever I can. My past jobs working at a defense contractors in their mechanical & electrical assembly positions gave me a good start for auto mechanic work. And people like you give me the ability to get it done without needing a mechanic I can no longer afford. Thank you again. I’m pretty sure I have a similar problem because if I tap on it, it blows and I replaced the blower motor last year. So if it’s not a loose pin connector, then I’m just gonna go ahead and buy that connector 10:33 assembly and replace it which is right up my alley too, because I did a lot of wiring harnesses at the aforementioned job. 👍👍
    Fingers crossed!

This just happened with my 2007 trailblazer. A/C stopped blowing. I messed with the harness and sure enough, the fan came back on. Zip tied it, good to go. However, I see and smell burnt plastic on one of the wires, so I'll replace the harness just to be on the safe side. Thank you so much for making this video!

My problem was identical on a 2007 GMC Sierra. Once I cleaned out the harness end and plugged it back into the resistor everything returned to normal. The 2007 GMCs do not have a cover over the resistor connections so they get touched by passenger's feet etc

Drive down the road and it just comes on or hit a speed bump and it comes on . It’s random. But your video cleared it up for me. I’ll bet it’s a loose harness. Which is the one thing I needed. I appreciate you guys trying to help; but skipping information doesn't seem to accomplish this. This is the seventh video I've looked at trying to figure out how to release the damn connector from the blower and not a single person shows what the magic trick is. It's either edited out or the camera shakes so it can't be seen.

UPDATE: I jiggled the harness to the module. It works. Same as you. I have no idea if it is the harness or the module. All I know is that I have a blowing fan now and I have heat. I miss the old days of a cable and a damper a nothing ever screwed up. It was simple and sweet. As it is now all those damn vacuum dampers on my ENVOY SLT are not opening up all the way. That is another can of worms I will have to deal with.

Also, thought you might want to know (just in case someone didn’t mention it already), someone has definitely been in that area before - the blower motor is missing the plastic cover that goes over the back of the motor (i assume the cover keeps the cables away from the motor so they don’t melt).
My AC is not working, but I didn’t check the harness or change the resistor, so I will be trying this tomorrow (or tonight if I get itchy). Thank you for the video sir.

Just an FYI I tried various solutions to fix this problem this is what worked for me. No air , some air , blowing here and not where it should be to keep it short. With the vehicle off (a 2002 Chevy trailblazer LT) I pulled all the hvac fuses under the hood and under passenger seat in rear behind driver. I then started the vehicle for about 2 minutes then I turned it off reinstalled fuses started it and no issues since.

All of mine went out now. Ugh, it's in the high 90s here in Houston. I gotta fix this. I wiggled it for weeks and it worked, but not at the plug just at the wires. Speed five has never worked, speed four only sometimes did. I really don't need speed five as the A/C blows ridiculously cold. I hope if fixes cheap and easy like yours!

OMG I am sooo proud of myself and sooooo very thankful to you for posting this video and sharing your knowledge and expertise on this stuff! After watching this about 4 times now I finally managed to go back out and try one more time to get my blower to work again. It is that harness thing that’s real sketchy. I have had the blower stop and start repeatedly for 6 months or so but 2 weeks ago it stopped and I have been able to mash bang or jerk it to get it back in again. I’m 63 1/2 years old and a little bit overweight so trying to get down under my glovebox is a huge challenge plus I have pretty intense claustrophobia and panic and anxiety has hit every time I’ve tried to get down under there and start to roll over to my back. Anyway, I went out and used a mirror up under there to see What was happening and it’s definitely that harness thing cuz I yanked it a couple of times and it started to kick on. Yanked it a few more times and it came on and I placed a long thick stick down there to press it I to place until I can use a zip tie tomorrow to hold it on. What a crappy design eh? But lots of things on this 2003 Buick Rendezvous have been designed crappy. My parents bought it new off the showroom floor but then the dealer went out of business and a couple of recalls were missed and I’ve never been able to get Buick or GMC to acknowledge them so I’ve footed the repair bills myself or just deal with it. But sure glad such an easy to understand and follow video like this was available to help me get to this point to get it back on!! I am woman hear me roar! Heheh No, I could t have roared without your help so thanks!!

    • @AxlesGarage

That sounds bad. For everything to go out at once, it sounds like a module or relay. It's gonna be a bitch to troubleshoot.

    • @RaoulThomas007

Obviously check your fuses to see if those items all run off the same fuse. Check if they share a common ground. As noted test the appropriate relays too! It’s GM!

It seems to be a chronic problem, the harness is too 'small' for the amperage. I would suggest replace with an oem harness and make sure the plug connection is solid, even if you have to tweak the contacts a bit

I checked for power on the wire going into the blower motor, but got nothing. I checked the harness but only two out of the seven entry points lit up. What do you think could be the problem? I will say when my AC was going out, the compressor would kick and almost turn off my AC. Then the AC started to go out slowly and had to use lower settings starting at 4 down to 1 until it didn't turn on anymore. Five never worked. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Mine basically will work only when you move the wire, then it will turn off not long after, once I unplugged the wire it was melted but I’m scared if I only replace the part that melted that it will just melt again, so should I replace the wire and the part you plug the wire into? I’m not too good at this stuff but I did pretty good finding out what is wrong with it. If anyone could help message me please!

    • @AxlesGarage

The replacement part is a little heavier duty. It shouldn't melt like the original, and if it does it will take years.
