    Thanks for helping me get this damn'd thing changed! Word to the wise...check the wires on the pigtail that's connected to it! 2 of the wires on my pigtail were melted and burnt! A 1/2 an hour job took me an hour and a half to complete. Had to replace pigtail and re-wire but all is good!

    Great video. Helped me out today on my 08 having to replace the resistor. I really like how you show you actually disconnecting everything instead of like some videos they explain it, but skip the actual work to show how easy or hard it is to get to.

    • @PhillipsVision
      @PhillipsVision  Před 2 lety

      The blower motor will usually affect the switch settings. If the switches are working fine but just the a/c not working, it could be the compressor.

  • @Steve-ck3yf
    @Steve-ck3yf Před 2 lety +2

    Does it also effect the vent selector once it burns out? I hear no movement when I change selector from floor to defog ect.. & no air started on 5 the 4 died slowly until nothing?

    Followed step by step, but my 4 isn't working still. I thought it was the resistor so i took it back and installed another. But same thing. What could that be? I mean the others work so not the biggest deal. Just wonder could i have done something wrong?

    I did mine worked for like 10 min . But once started driving 5 stopped working then 4 , and now it only works on 1 to 4. . Weird smell is coming out too. Tried the Ac pro ting and wouldn't take it. Any thoughts that can help .. thanks

    • @PhillipsVision
      @PhillipsVision  Před rokem

      The smell could be caused by a dirty cabin filter or a leak in your a/c system. The failing controls could be a bad or poor quality blower motor resistor

    • @ryanlutton8193
      @ryanlutton8193 Před 9 měsíci

      #5 is on a separate circuit. It's fused separately. That fuse would blow if your blower motor is drawing too many amps.

  • @mariebecerra1352
    @mariebecerra1352 Před 2 lety

    Is the wire to the resistor get hot while you turn on the ac

  • @ryanlutton8193
    @ryanlutton8193 Před 9 měsíci

    Old one looks like automatic climate control digital version. New one looks like the manual style. You get the wrong one?

  • @mblack9824

    my blower ain't working on no settings 1 through 5 but also my lights on my air button and the light on my rear defroster ain't lighting up either I checked all the fuses in both boxes under the back seat and under the hood so I wonder if this still would be my problem ?

    • @PhillipsVision
      @PhillipsVision  Před 2 lety

      It could be the Resistor, but could also be the blower motor itself

    Do you have to disable the passenger airbag? Or can you just do it as is?
