    Thank you. Very helpful. Blower worked 1-4 but not on 5, then went out completely. From what you showed it looked like the same problem. Very easy as long as you have proper tools. The hardest thing was the old style clip I ended just ripping apart. LoL. Thanks again.

    Good job. I was able to get in and get out. Only issues I had was the plastic connectors. Also the the “RESISTOR BOLTS” was 5.5 mm for me. I was lucky enough to have it in my set. Thanks !!!

    Great video man going to use your vid to change mine this weekend it's funny that cord was all melted because I had just turned my air conditioning on and I started smelling like melting wires and that all of a sudden the blower wouldn't work anymore so this video made perfect sense to what I was smelling in the car before it completely broke I'll let you know how it works out

    Thank you so much for posting this video! It helped me replace my resistor in my 2007 Trailblazer. I had lost 1 speed (4) 2 years ago and another (5) in the fall. I then lost the remaining three last week. I now have all 5 speeds! Thank you again! Todd

      @@Hugh_Manitee I couldn't say for certain but it may be worth a try. It's not really a difficult job, just time consuming taking everything off and then putting it all back together when it's been changed.

    Thanks for the video, It was real easy to do...
    took me probably 20 minutes and the new one I got off Amazon for $24 works perfect.. and thank goodness I didn't need the wire harness that came with it because my existing one was perfect, but I think it's awesome that my new one came with the wire harness.. (even though I didn't need it) so I didn't have to do what you said which would be maybe going to a junkyard and all that crap!! 😃

    Just this January I was warming up my 2006 Envoy in my driveway and my truck caught fire because of that resister. I even had it replaced twice. GM should recall these things.

      As my daughters trailblazer only has the manual type heater controls unfortunately I am not certain that the auto climate control unit works on the same type resistor. Thank you for watching and commenting!

      There are two different reisistor parts for manual (like mine) and auto. Just ask your parts store for the different kinds. Mine cost about $32 and the auto one goes for about $48.

    I thought that power bypassed the blower motor resistor and went straight to the blower motor itself on the 5 speed, so I’m surprised that replacing that resistor solved the issue.

      I had my fingers crossed that it was the resistor and not the motor itself, but I think because the resistor was so bad that it just stopped all together.

    So my question is.... since GM don't protect the wiring or use the best quality in the first place to prevent this from happening, is there anything that can be done to protect the new thingy you put in from heat, ect to prevent this from happening again?

    Hi, great video! My parents traileblazer has stopped.working on thw 5th speed. I think this is the culpret just in beginning stages of malfunction, is that wire hsrness that goes to tbe blower motor from the resistor ziptied to the blower motor.itself? That was the only thing in your video that i have a question about, thanks! I gave you a like btw!!

      Sounds like the resistor is starting to fail if not working on all speeds. There are two 6mm nuts that hold the resistor into the fan motor housing, you can see at 3:10 in the video. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    On my 2005 TB, my fan works on 1-3, but nothing on 4+...
    How do I know if its that resister gadget you show or the switch on the dash???
    At 1st I was a 100% sure it was the switch, but after seeing your vid, im not sure...

    I changed my resistor and it fixed my problem with the speed settings but the plug was burnt so I ordered a plug and spliced in the new plug and now my vent controls are messed up.i double and triple check the wiring is correct.any thoughts?

    I have the same issue. But it only works in max speed. And i have another issue. Like when you control the a/c. Like where you gonna blow it. Up down rear or back only. Is not working in that control. Thing.

    Thanks man but yet I still have a problem with getting my A/C Heater working Out new climate control module ,the resistor and the blower. It came on for about six seconds and went dead. I can not get it to work.

    The size of sockets are not 6mm and 7mm. You need a 7/32 and 9/32 SAE socket.

      Blend door actuator? Perhaps try the recalibrate procedure for the HVAC, there are a few vids online, often times the system neeeds to recalibrate itself after the battery has been disconnected. Thanks for watching and commenting

      Buy a blower motor resistor kit. Comes with a harness you have to splice in.

      Does the low blowing power when heat is selected remain low on each of the air sections ( defrost, front vents, floor) or does it blow harder in one of those sections?

      Update I removed all the fuses for the HVAC system (2 under hood & 4 under passenger seat behind driver) started vehicle ran for 2 minutes turned off reinstalled fuses started vehicle again let run without touching controls for a few minutes. Presto problem solved.

      There is an mode door actuator that controls the section where the air comes out of. If you search for Trailblazer HVAC actuator or HVAC mode you should pull up information on how to fix that issue, Thank you for watching and commenting!
