Rob, I liked your video the best I've viewed. I have a 2011 Chevy Silverado 2500 Duramax. My fix was the resistor. The easiest fix I've done and I am 78 years young. Thank you!
Finally someone shows a perfect view how to place the blower motor to lock back into place with the tab when installing the new one . Thank you for the video
Changed this fan and solenoid a couple years ago, think I bought a cheap fan off of Amazon. Well, it went out again so going with a genuine GM fan this time. Little warmer today so going to go out and change the fan test it like you showed before putting it back in. If it don't work go and get a solenoid also.
Got the fan replaced, I think I put a connector on the fan wire when I put that one in. But got it out went to turn by hand and it was locked up, broke it free turning good now. But I didn't want to chance it put the new one in. The old one would probably lock up again in a week so didn't chance it.
Obviously, I would check the fuse first. How do I test the climate control system? Can I test the resistor before replacing it? I know I can test the fan before replacing it.
Hard to really estimate the cost of the part. The blower motor from a dealer could be hundreds of dollars. From amazon they could be $75 dollars. This particular one was from a dealer and I don't remember what the cost was but it was somewhere around 250 I believe.
Hi Rob, I am planning to make this repair on my truck. You mentioned "before you leave the dealer" in your video, can I buy direct parts from my local dealer such as the resistor and blower motor?
There's not really a need to change both of them. Unless you know the resistor is bad as well then yes you would want to change the resistor also. But typically it's going to be either one or the other. The resistors are fairly inexpensive though if you're under there already and got everything apart and you wanted do it and get it out of the way then sure do them both at the same time.
Does the resistor cause the fan motor to work sometimes and sometimes not because mine works perfect or not at all sometimes it just comes on while I’m driving
After a couple of days of living hell here in Houston,Tx and not having time to go to a shop, I came across your video… Great info, thanks buddy, I got my a/c blowing ice once again..🫡👍🏽
That’s the best tutorial video I’ve ever seen. As I’ve been told before, I’m just a woman, but I could change it from watching this. Great job!
Thank you for the comment. Appreciate the support.

I know I can test the fan before replacing it.
Thanks man... Just an idea on parts cost would be helpful as well. Great video

I changed all my actuators. Does anyone know why the fuck it stops blowing through the vents facing uppper body?

Yes you can.. You'll probably pay triple amount from the dealer but you Certainly can buy them from the dealer
Do you change out both of them, the blower motor and resistor, I replaced the blower motor on my 2013 Chevy Silverado

I’m having the same issue did you figure it out??
Could either one of those parts be broken if the fan only stops when inside of truck gets worm?
Sounds to me like it could be The resistor overheating. I would certainly think about changing the resistor.
Thanks
