Thanks for taking the time to do this, I have had a small leak in my 454 V8 and this could well be the problem the coolant seemed to drip onto the starter motor which isn't good. But finally I think I can see where it comes from, it has involved getting the oil and dirt from the area and giving it a good clean so I could see more easily where the water was coming from. Thanks again
I have a 1988 Chevy Caprice I have a freeze plug I think I have to replace coolant cooming out from the back of the engine so I gotta keep putting water or coolant in the car before I drive it but also it start smoking from the hood while I'm driving after bout 15 minutes of driving I've been told it also could be the heater core or the thermostat so is it just the freeze plug or the freeze plug & something else also??

Good repair, but I think using some sealant like the hardening *Permatex® Form-A-Gasket® No. 1* would help prevent any chance of a comeback .

That's the same problem I'm having with my 1986 Chevy Caprice I'm glad I found this video
My entire coolant came right out of the freezout plug. Getting repaired hopefully today. Got a new part from ford for my stupid out of focu Focus 😂

freeze plug hold the coolant in like a radiator cap.
