    This just happened on my 98' K1500 and I was so confused. I have never heard of a weephole before. After I got home, I noticed there was a pretty consistent stream of water leaking from my motor, and leading up to the bottom of the waterpump where the apparent weephole is (just did a flush two days ago and was running distilled water until I add the coolant back). I thought a bolt had vibrated out of the water pump or something 😂
    I can now only deduce that the flush must have shaken loose whatever was keeping my apparently deteriorated seal, well, sealed. Cool. Now I know what a weephole is, and that I definitely need to order a new pump pronto. You guys have helped so much with learning how to work on different parts of my truck that I was ignorant about. Thanks a bunch, and keep up the awesome work! These are the best DIY auto videos on CZcams.

    Through video. The Heater Core on a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee has my hair on fire!! I flushed the heater core and the water flows fine and is clean! But despite both lines going to firewall being hot, the Heater Core stays cold !! No heat comes towards the cabin side!! Blend Door area is now cut open and they both work. Actuator also works and operates the blend doors! Could it be the failing Water Pump that's is not pushing the water w enough pressure?

    So the gauge showing it at normal operating temp but a smell of coolant is an indication to look at the pump rather than head gasket? I was getting a noise when id accelerate that sounded like a bad bearing, only one that i havent changed is my water pump so im thinking it could be that? It started smelling like coolant when i got home last night from driving around the park and the bearing noise wasnt as loud as it typically can be. The engine did seem a little but warmer than i expected but the gauge is working and showing a normal temp slightly below the halfway point. Theres no coolant on the ground. Havent fully looked at everything but i couldnt see any leaks

When I start driving the temp goes back to normal is that cause the water pump isn’t doing its job until I press the gas and it starts to pump again?

    My Accord has been sitting in door at a car storage for 3 years. I'm taking out of storage this coming Spring in April and putting it on the road, but first I wanna replace any worn out parts and I also I wanna replace my Timing belt Tensioner and water pump, along with a complete tune up Spark plugs, and wires distributor cap and rotor with the O-ring, cabin filter and fuel filter. There's also a Vacuum leak and an Evap issue with the fuel running either rich or lean, I can't remember. It's best I check all the Suspension components as well, and the Brakes and rotors. Maybe flush and fill the radiator fluid and Transmission fluid. My Accord has the original F22, with 370,000km with a few Aftermarket performance engine bolt on's.

    @wyattandwill12 Před 3 lety +7

    You can also get a cooling system pressure tester loaned from Autozone or Advance Auto Parts which pressurizes the system and if the pressure gauge it had drops, you can see where the external leak is or you can find out if it's an internal leak. If it's an internal engine leak that means you have a cracked/warped cylinder head or a blown head gasket.

      Very good idea. I came to this video and determined my 1959 ford f100 pickup water pump should be replaced since coolant is coming out of the weep hole although its on the very top side of the pump not the bottom like he says. However my other concern is as it is an older truck and engine i believe the pump and fan is one unit which is why i think the fan rocks back and forth or has to much play in it. Perhaps yours isnt weeping out coolant but has a bad bearing like mine.

    • @MrPaulSimone
      @MrPaulSimone Před 4 lety

      Why was the radiator replaced? If temps are normal when moving , then the radiator was doing it's job. You most likely have an air circulation problem. Which is why it gets hotter when stopped, and not when moving. The fan(s) are responsible for air flow when stopped or at low speeds. That should be a cooling fan, fan relay, or fan switch issue.

    My teenage daughter has a 2002 Camry LE with a four cylinder engine and a timing chain. At 188k, I am having to ad a couple of cups of coolant once a month to keep it topped off. I'm speculating that it's time to replace the water pump on this car.

    A quick simple way is to let the vehicle sit over night then open the radiator cap make sure you have coolant in it start motor with cap off let motor run a bet look in to the radiator to see if coolant is flowing if not you got a bad water pump or the thermostat is stuck ether way change both.

    I drive an 04 GMC Canyon. yesterday as I was leaving work, it started sounding like the belt was wet, a high pitched screeching. When looking at it after cooled down a bit, we noticed some burnt oil colored fluid on some areas. The serpentine belt looked like it had a burnt color to it towards the back side of it. I started the truck & there was a burnt oil colored fluid spraying out. It was all over the center pully (sorry not sure about some names of parts, but I know that's not the correct name). There is an antifreeze smell to what looked like burnt oil. Why would antifreeze be this color & and does my description (hopefully good enough) sound like it's the water pump?

    • @jamesmartinez1633
      @jamesmartinez1633 Před 6 lety

      Burnt oil and antifreeze sounds like a blown head gasket where water is getting into the engine or manifold. Pull spark plugs and and look for water where they sit in. Bad news if there is water in the engine. Every figure out the problem?

    • @Zwarte-Piet
      @Zwarte-Piet Před 4 lety

      @ThePariss333 NP It pretty much depends if you run your vehicle on water or coolant, naturally it will last less time if you use water to cool your engine, I have a few forklifts which I learned about this for the first time myself. I actually need to change another one sometime tomorrow. Yes all engines have them. they are a bit inconspicuous to notice them on the engine especially if you don't know about it.
