- The first gen fork leak started becoming a HUGE hassle. While we are working on the bike, might as well regear and put the stock rear wheel back on.

That bolt inspection goes for all machines. I had the main track tension bolt come out on my RMK last winter. Stranded me for a little bit. 🤦🏼♂️
Your how-to videos are very helpful.
I’m gonna have to get one of these Sur Rons.
It's amazing to me how casual you just happened to have a fork laying around and it totally fit the Sur ron. The whole reason I don't replace my fork is because I don't know what specifications to look for in a new fork so that it will fit the sur ron.
Awesome video! Your Sur Ron reminds me of my Iron Horse Sunday World Cup in similar green with the same fork!
You have the best lightbee videos
I just lost my front axel nut after only a week of owning my bike. Checked them every ride but the last one I guess. Count your blessings.
greetings from Maine. i clean and check over my kdx every ride .have fun out there
Awesome thanks John
Rolling with a 60t steel and 1/4 turn throttle shinko dual purpose 2.75 19 and getting rid of the fast ace headache you get weary of the pedal system falling apart and the fast ace forks leaking always coming loose etc I have 6000 miles mtns trails and commuting the first interation they shipped charged me more didnt put pedal kit on didnt know about lvc sent me wrong color bike with 11v in the battery and couldnt explain the new charger lvc sequence thx luna cycles good job. If I tried to ride it without tightening every bolt on the forks probably would have crashed first ride It is what it is awesome bike has character defects and communication an tech support issues. They started changing things immediately very smart usually every six months for dirt bikes new engineering Racing ride fast learn fast engineer fast I have broken spokes throttle cables and been throught it and it is as you say Dont not tighten locktite check critical parts before every ride forks chain lube and tighten forks all bolts and spokes every 150 miles replace the chain Im rolling witha kx 100 hd 420 no issues But I clean adjust and lube before every ride or commute period
sur ron maintenance every ride and x controller more critical on chain tension stress both ways regen braking I am putting on a fox 40 rc got one from colorado for 595.oo$ ebay Where can you purchase the good fenders the NZs? Thankyou for your tech videos keep up the good work
Do a video on the difference in torque with the new sprocket. I think I'll order one, but would like to see more about its performance gains etc.
It's a 20.8% geardown, so it puts down that much more torque. I really really like it. top speed is down to 40mph in sport mode, which is plenty.
Yes, I agree. 40 is fast enough....and having more power, seems worth it. Although I think the 52 might be a better fit for me rather than the 58. Thanks
Cool!
Why is there no detailed video that shows you exactly which bolts to take off in order to just replace the fork?
I have dual motor and I inspect every ride
Would have been nice if you showed which bolts to loosen to take off the rear wheel
Hello John, the boxxer 2011 have 8 inch travel but it set up from factory for 40lbs bike, I think you should stiffer the compression for 100 lbs bike ?
A little higher pressure in the positive chamber seems to do it well. The compression and rebound feel good for my riding otherwise.
Hy i put a boxxer rockshox 2015 but de brake dont fit on the 203mm
Wich brake adapter do you use ?
I've been looking around at ProTrax wheel sets because I want to replace the shitty sur ron hub/rim and tire with something of better quality, but I'm not sure how to figure out which set will fit the right width. Then there's the matter of finding a sprocket that will fit the new hub, as well as rotors that will fit the new hub and not force me to install new calipers. Have you come across anybody installing better wheels on these things successfully?
Hi John- how do you determine best chain tension? Wondering if mine is too tight from factory. Very little movement.. thanks!
I let it have about 1cm of deflection in the middle. Not so tight it makes noise, not so loose if flops around.
You should maintain your bike every ride! If you really ride, any bolt can surprise you! My philosophy is keep it as new!
Test results?
Hey mate,
If you had of bought a new ford would you still have needed to use the crown puller?
I'm thinking of putting marzocchi b 58 on mine.
not needed if you also buy a new headset. But then you would need a cup press...
do these just use mountain bike forks?
Where's the bike shop located
what is stock fork? is it dnm?

Make a vid about making the sur ron street legal!
This is a very complicated issue depending on the state you are in. In Missouri, it is already street legal. Look for Sur Ron to be releasing street legal versions with VINs this year.
I should have one for sale this month. It’s enroute.
@@tigerbeforyou181 It's a year later, any word on the street legal kit?
Deserthi Haven’t heard anything but now moved and sold my euro Sur Ron.
wait.....
does the sur ron frame take motorcycle forks or bicycle forks?
Bicycle
Get a direct mount stem.
I'm still curious how fast a sur-ron can possibly go on flat ground
Depends on gearing. 50mph+ should be no problem but torque at the wheel will suffer without a controller upgrade.
HolmesHobbies what kind of controller upgrade do you have?
How buy online spare parts bro plz
www.aebikes.com.au/ and lunacycle.com
I ended up buying the same Cane Creek headset Luna had listed on their site but is out of stock. Just went direct to Cane Creek. Really starting to dislike Luna more and more. They have a monopoly on this bike and don't provide any aftermarket parts or support. They took away color options averything's always out of stock. And now that the bike comes with DNM forks, they're "good forks". Go back and watch they're older videos when the Sur Ron's were shipping with RST's and the owner trashes DNM...but I digress, sorry.
My real question is about your forks and wheel. I'm trying to fit a 21" wheel up front and keep a 19" in back. Will getting custom WWW wheels when they're back in stock. I really don't know enough about bikes to pick out quality fork without going overboard and also don't know the exact part #'s I would need. For example, I know Fox 40's are the go-to, high-end fork but don't know which exact part # to order. Is that something you could help me with? If there's a cheaper option than Fox that's close to their quality/performance level, I'd be interested in hearing about it. Thanks.
Man, I have the same question. It seems no one makes this clear enough for a novice like me. I would like to upgrade my Sur Ron fork or get a better one but where to start???
Troy Muni I bought my Sur Ron directly from China, I’m sure they still sell direct.
@@tigerbeforyou181 We were talking about upgrades since we've already got the bike. Sold my 2016 Camaro SS (M6, 6 pistons) last year btw. She was putting down 734rwhp and had ALP front and back. I had easier time upgrading that car than I'm having upgrading this freakin bicycle LOL..and right after a model refresh!
Does he have a recuperate mode? at braking
not with the stock controller.
If you get the X controller (sine wave) it has regenerative braking.
front nut came off my axle and came off at 30mph on concrete,
