    Thanks for another solid, informative review.
    I´ll probably end up buying one of these bikes.
    The wife and I are also looking at the Phat Scooters for use around the campground.

    Being 6'4 ergonomics and right-sizing a bike are a constant for me. I ride offroad motorcycle and MTB regularly and I am always maxing seat post height, adding tall seats, using bar risers. Watching another video of a gentleman riding the Sur Ron he looked shorter than me (maybe 5'10 -6') and cramped on this bike. The pegs seem a bit far back and the rider was on the very back of the saddle. I am a standup rider so the seated position would only be an issue for transfer sections but it could be a deal breaker if I couldn't get comfortable to ride technical terrain on this thing. like you would a trials or enduro bike.
    - How tall are you and what is your take on the ergos for your height and any cockpit altering options that Luna can offer?
    - Do the cables on the bars have enough extra length to add a 1" bar riser?
    - Any alternate seat options?
    - Do you feel it would be durable enough to do light trials type and creek/log hopping cross training type activities?
    I love this concept and the price is reasonable if the bike is durable and can adjust in ergos. Thanks in advance for any input!

      I'm 5ft9 and its tight but comfy. Plenty of room for riser bars on the cables. No seat options yet. It can totally do light trials, especially with a bigger rear sprocket and 17" rear wheel. Like any entry level bike, suspension upgrades would help.

    Great video. I'm really interested in this bike, but I live in California so there aren't many legal places to ride it. All of your videos are very informative; especially these Sur Ron Light Bee MX as there isn't much else available in video format. Thanks

      There aren't a lot of states with laws like Missouri. I'm glad to be here, I have quite a few 50cc and equivalent bikes.

    I can ride it any where. I think it's a great way to go. My buddy put trials tire on rear of 250 ktm 2 stroke. He said to much traction sliding down hills having make tight turn. Claims it would stop in middle of slide.

    How do you feel about the actual size of the bike? Coming from mountain biking, it seems a bit small for a taller rider (6'+). Too much knee bend, etc.

    John thank you for your videos and commentary. I personally find your work informative. I have purchased one from Luna Cycle and it's scheduled to start delivery this week. I'm a former motocross/desert racer who then transitioned to on road racing. But alas I'm too old to do that now so this little bike will be perfect for my current riding addiction. I know I won't be able to ride this at any off-road park due to no registration so I plan to ride fire roads here in the Bay Area. If I have questions after delivery is it fine to contact you? Thanks again.

    Hi. Can you please make a video of the differences between previous stock controller and the new sine wave controller? Noise differences, performance and functions. People in forums say its supposed to have Regen braking but even though I ordered mine with sine wave, I don't have that function. In addition a thorough difference between the older and newer models. Thank you so much

    What’s the pedal kit like ? And if so what’s the perfect sprocket for it because I’m seen people pedal them and they can’t pedal as it’s to easy to pedal for gear ratio

    Him how do you remove the brake sensor? I wanna remove my left one so I can use the rear brakes for wheelies. But I just wanna make sure I get the right answer from someone who is expert and not just me going and fiddling with cables.

    • @HolmesHobbies
      @HolmesHobbies  Před 6 lety

      the brake sensor wire has a barrel nut over the end at the lever, 8mm I think. Just unscrew that and it comes out of the lever. The plug for it is located behind the key switch. Remove the keyswitch body from the frame and it pulls out, unplug the sensor wire, and re-install the body on the frame.

    Does the battery go bad over time?

    • @HolmesHobbies
      @HolmesHobbies  Před 5 lety +1

      Yes, lithium batteries have a shelf life. I would estimate 3 to 5 years before this one starts a noticeable drop in top speed. The bike doesn't really ask much from it in stock gearing and controller form.

    Niiice, Just have one question, can you ride where pedestrians walk or just on the road, like a bicycle??

    • @HolmesHobbies

      This is practically a motorcycle. Not a pedestrian vehicle.

    • @rBeater
      @rBeater Před 6 lety

      HolmesHobbies So you can't ride it like a bicycle I mean on the sidewalk ?
      But thanks for answering, good video.

    • @leetjohnson
      @leetjohnson Před 6 lety +1

      Nate it's usually illegal to ride even a regular bike on a sidewalk. The rare exception would be if the street is too narrow to accommodate a bike.

    • @rBeater
      @rBeater Před 6 lety +1

      Lee Johnson Thanks, I just ask becaus here in Spain you can ride a regular bike (bicycle) on the sidewalk of you dont disturb anybody, as the same for skate and scooters, but if this is considerd as a MotorBike and not a Bicycle I rather buy an MT 07 or other Gasoline Bike.

      Just realized that is measured with the 17" tire on it, the stock 19' tire is about 2.5" clearance when the rear is bottomed out.

    How quick can you make it go? Any way to remove the 45 km/h limitation?

    • @leetjohnson
      @leetjohnson Před 6 lety

      Gabriel Lundmark it's actually 45mph not kmh

    • @HolmesHobbies
      @HolmesHobbies  Před 6 lety +1

      The speed is 45mph limited by voltage and motor speed. A different controller with phase or timing advancement could get more rpm from the motor at expense to efficiency. Sur Ron is said to be releasing a controller capable of this.
