the Navi is what the Cub used to be. A cheap entry motorcycle for everyone. If you want people to keep buying motorcycles, you need to get them to START buying motorcycles
It's incredibly cheap. Its basically cheaper than honda wave in asia. How they can make it under grom price
this would be so much better with a hub motor and electric conversion
although really, why waste money on this when you could save this towards a unicycle
With gas the way it is I'm looking into one

This is still smart as hell from Honda. It will get people that would never have bought a bike into the hobby and most likely buying a better bike down the road
Why does it have to be a new cheap (meaning not good quality)bike to get into the hobby? Your much better off learning on a nice used bike with better features for the same cost.
@@rubytheelite it's not only cheap, it's a new Honda so you know it's reliable plus with a warranty. And the size and weight of the thing wont scare new riders
@@jigrodrigues Well this carburated honda is not reliable people having issues with this bike he shuts off on red lights etc something wrong with carburetors.
I’m thinking about getting this Navi as my first vehicle. Been looking at used cars for around $10k but everything I’ve went and looked at has been a real bust…
I originally bought a 07 125cc Honda cbr (glorified moped) for 500$ then bought a used 600cc cbr for 800, and put 500 tires on it ,1300$ total I haven't watched the video yet but used is the way to get into bikes.. I haven't dropped one yet but better taking the chances learning on used ones your not scared to drop lol
The Navi seems like the perfect vehicle for myself. I'm currently in High School, and my commute to work is about 8 minutes for a job that pays $8.50 an hour. With the Navi, I would put $3.79 in once a week and have a pretty low overhead for getting there when accounting for maintenance. The roads on my commute never get above 45, so I'd have no trouble maintaining speed.
you better get it then
@@grenzviel4480 I have every intention to, I just can't afford it until February/March.
@@appalachianenthusiast9499 Nice. Just remember you need extra for a helmet, and possibly a decent chain/lock. Because it's light, it would be pretty easy to pick up and steal. It's nice that it comes with a compartment so you can carry a chain all the time. The problem tho is that it exceeds the 50cc limit, which means you need both a car and motorcycle license. From where I live, a car license takes around 100 USD (assuming you don't fail either written or actual driving test) and if you decide to take the MSF, it's another 150 (again, if you don't fail). It's really tough getting into it. You got quite a bit of saving up to do. Good luck, bud. IMHO, it's worth it so far.
@@grenzviel4480 I already have my DL (just got it two months ago), and apparently doing the motorcycle license in PA is $30 and that includes the class (required for those under 18)
@@grenzviel4480 Where I live you can take a course offered by the sheriffs dept and automatically get the motorcycle endorsement added to your DL without having to take a written or driving test. Regular DL is ~30 bucks.
I drove the navi from Delhi to Leh in 2017.
Installed a K&N Air filter with Akrapovic exhaust to keep up with the altitude + Auxiliary lamps bolted to the indicators for night riding in the hills. The bike lived up way more than my expectations.
Damn good brother 👍
You, my friend, are a madman.😂
Ironically, Honda stopped selling this in India way back in 2019 when they figured it would get more expensive to make it meet the new BS6 emission requirements. In fact dealers were giving the Navi for free if you purchased one their more expensive motorbikes.
I doubt they'd ever sell it in Europe since the regulations are plain crazy, even the hayabusa is nurfed compared the the last gen because of it. several countries are even attempting take peoples right to repair away.

an interesting fact about Centralia is that the fire was originally started by the local town government. The state had outlawed the burning of garbage and the town disagreed and burned the garbage anyways, starting the fire that would eventually wipe the town off the map completely. This thing is based on the Honda Activa scooter available in India. In 2016-17, I can't exactly remember, when were shifting from bs3 to bs4 pollution norms, dealers with huge stocks had very little time to sell them off within the stipulated time. So these Honda Navi were given free on the purchase of every Honda CBR 250 back then!
I would love too see you two making more trips! It would be the perfect thing I've been missing. Like the old top gear UK specials.
I have one, and I love the thing. When my car broke, I used it as my daily driver. I use the thing to run around and to save gas ever since gas prices went up, and I love riding it as an (almost) daily driver whenever weather is decent. It’s not the greatest for 55 mph roads, but it’s amazing for in-town use.
Seriously, you guys are more entertaining that most of the stuff on tv. Lots of smiles and spontaneous laughter here with the guys watching your Navi test drive.

Motorcycles are getting so damn popular now cuz of gas prices.. last year I checked the msf safety course and they had open slots every week. My local msf is booked 4 months in advance now.
One of the most entertaining motorcycle reviews I've ever seen. Thank you haha
This is the kind of thing I kind of want to have in my garage for the local 50mph and under roads...as a non-rider. Feels like something to help introduce a friend to riding without the...not sure what....of a full size bike even a small one. And the price is awesome.
"Intimidation and learning factor" of becoming a bike rider. Non-bikers probably don't know how to shift gears or brake with the hand. The average bike now is too heavy to be picked up by one person if it goes down. The Honda C90 had a semiautomatic transmission and weighed less than 200lbs, and it was the best selling vehicle of all time because anyone with four limbs could get on it and safely operate it within seconds, and we need more bikes like this. Conventional wisdom in America since 1975 is that bikes that can't do 70mph on the interstate have no market, because people that want something for cities and towns will just get a moped. Yet we see with the Grom and the flood of 125cc Chinese bikes that there is a huge untapped market in the US that doesn't want a 450-1400cc twin.
Just bought one. Having a blast. I weigh 180. Definitely difficult to hit 50 mph. I’d say 45 is average. If wind is heavy than 40
Been riding for 46 years and will be buying 2. Just bought a house in the Ozarks and the Navi will be perfect for the 40mph curvy roads used to get to the stores. Will keep a regular MC for the serious rides.
Who is sitting at home watching this right now on June 22nd 2022 when gas prices are at $5+ A gallon. And wondering how good it used to be to just fill your bike up willy-nilly without spending $60+ on every fill up
Awesome content and commentary! Cheers fellas!
As someone who has a motorcycle and a scooter I totally get the appeal of these. To me they both have different uses but I hate how people don’t take you serious on a scooter. I think one of these would be a perfect replacement while maintaining all the qualities I value in a scooter.
Given that it's basically a scooter disguised as motorcycle, I can see that.
I understand that when people don’t really take you serious on a scooter at all. But scooters are cool anyway!
I don't understand those type of bikers, I always nod to scooter riders, it's not like a different seating position means you don't have exactly the same challenges on the road as any other biker. Only rode a scooter once for training but it was brilliant fun and I am kinda jealous that you get an auto gearbox it makes things so easy.
While me and my guy were on his Harley we were behind a guy on a scooter and the back of his helmet said “it’s not a competition, loser.”
We loved it lol
This still isnt a motorcycle.
A fun challenge would be to have you and Greg separately try to get the most power out of them. Can you install a turbo, a bigger carb, high flow exhaust. How far can you take it?
Such a awesome CZcams channel. You guys make me laugh a lot, and also make me want things that i have zero need for!
I must say, the quality of your video is absolutely sublime, came here to enjoy another bike review got a scooter instead and then a creepy eery backstory of a small town. 😂. Love it. The quality of that backstory was cinema level.
I was looking for something for my parents to tote around in their RV and I almost bought them a grom but I was worried about my mom riding it with the gears on it I ended up getting a Navi and they love it the little compartment on the bottom is always filled with fishing gear and sunscreen and stuff like that and it fits perfectly on the back of their RV. In a couple months I’d like to get them another one.
"The cbr changed the way we get hurt" Lmao. The Centralia intro definitely had some Fortnine vibes to it. Really like how this video was done. Good job guys!

Centralia is the most interesting after a lot of snow is on the ground. You can see Centralia then from pretty far away because there is no snow where the fire is. When you go there with snow, you know right where things are still burning, and where it is mostly safe.

Love this! I’ve always wanted to go to Centralia. I rode a Honda Ruckus around Philly for years. The Ruckus is comically mean looking and doesn’t hide the fact that it’s a scooter. The Navi reminds me of the Tomos Targa moped. At the end of the day, anything cheap with 2 wheels is a good time.

I love these classic top gear style competitions you two do. Also keep putting that ethanol free gas in those, (as well as anything carbed that the fuel can sit in for a few weeks at a time) those ancient dinosaurs that are carburetors will thank you
Great suggestion!
Luckily I've got ethanol free at the gas hole right by my house, I've been treating apart and rebuilding a kawasaki vulcan 800 I got from a woman who had recently lost her husband, and it will never have ethanol gas in it again because that gum was so gnarly. It's almost back in shape.
I have a bike similar to the Navi, and it was definitely a great bike to start riding. Needless to say, I'm in love and already looking for a more powerful bike to upgrade my current one. The Navi is a smart move by Honda and that price is unbeatable
I had one of these in Honduras in 2018. Most motorcycles there are 125cc and smaller with the majority of them being the 49cc scooters because people like being able to load up the footwell with children or groceries. The foreign version doesn't have that enclosed cargo area, it was just a hole in the bike lol. I think I paid $900 for it brand new and when I left I just gave it away to a family that didn't have any kind of vehicle at all.
Dude, fun video love this...
Never heard of it, seems cool though. For the same price I bought a 2008 honda cbr125r used with nearly 30k on the clock. I wouldn't swap it for that but when I was in the market a brand new bike with the Honda badge on it would have been tempting.
I saw one of these and thought perfect for my dad to get into riding. He’s old and has never ridden but wants to get good gas mileage. And with it being an automatic, it’s literally perfect and cheap!
Saw this on my recommended after I got one myself back in February. I’m a new rider and it’s pretty easy to ride and the MPG is amazing. My mom who used to ride when she was younger loves it because it’s a cheap bike and can go pretty much anywhere where we live. Great for getting some food too with the storage compartment.

I live in Ecuador and bought a Honda CG 110 for $1,750. The honda dealer had a Navi sitting next to it for about $2,400. These little bikes are great fun and perfect for Local transportation
With gas approaching $5 a gallon here in Washington State, me wanting a Ruckus is becoming more and more a reality.
I can’t believe how cheap these things run, I paid $5500 for one of my mtn bikes and $2700 for the other which is what a new Ruckus goes for
The price of bicycles is extremely inflated, it's almost criminal. Pretty much every bicycle in the world is made by the same factory in Taiwan, the rest is just branding and marketing.
Makes me happy I just picked up a 09 Ruckus for a $1,200 quite a steal
I love the inexpensive bike idea, like this and the Grom and similar small bikes. Especially with our current oil and gas prices. I just wish more of the platforms supported tall riders. I'm enjoying the suggestions. The one I've recently been looking at for a small commuter is the KTM Duke 200. But I'm going to check out some of these other ones.
I'm only 5'9 but 21 stone and my Grom (MSX) does just fine. Try one out if you haven't already. Its not much good once you need to go fast but upto about 40 its decent enough and 50 is fine in all but the steepest of hills. After that you're going to need some luck and usually a tail wind but its also one of the most fun bikes you can ride around town. My 'busa never comes out for short or low speed rides anymore.
@@siraff4461 many of the speed limits near me are 45 - 55 on back roads and that's a good variety of hills. Essence of motorcycle. I’m guessing these are the two first Navi’s that came in at Lancaster Honda. I sat on one and observed that yeah, they’re cheap, but they are the perfect tool for basic commuting. Sure, it’s an underbone design with a CVT, but if you take it for what it is: a tool rather than a toy, it works. It won’t win any races or beauty pageants, but at the 1800 price point, it may just get more people on two wheels, which is a good thing.
So yeah, btw, if one of the seats smelled slightly of old farts, that would have been me. Not sorry.

Driving in India looks insane from what I have seen.
I love the idea of this, I can see this being a Fantastic starter bike but people are buying 2 and 3 or more at a time then selling them for more so they're hard to get... I'd like a Grom but they're way too expensive for what you get, then you have to do a bunch of mods to make it worth it but these Navis are kind of cool. I'm a huge fan of electric bikes for beginners and I feel like they should make a small cheap bike like a Grom but w/ a high powered electric motor that can be upgraded whenever the rider wants more power... Some of the electric hub motors can be upgraded in multiple ways so I could see an electric Grom/Navi being a great starter bike but also after a few upgrades it could be SUPER fast and awesome for a small stunt bike.
Also if you don't want one of those Navis, I'd be willing to buy it off you.... I don't live too far from Silent Hill, I mean Centralia. 😁😂
Electric is wack
Hahah is it sad that i already knew you were going to put in kitten noises when you panned back to the navi after the Hayabusa XD. Bikes and beards at its best XD
Awesome, can't wait to race one of these in my 2008 Honda Odyssey Mini Van lol
In the UK a NAVI is a worker [usually Irish immigrants] who dug out with a hand shovel the new canal systems in the 18th and 19th centuries. Navi is short for navigator
I have one of these reserved for me and my gf when my dealership gets them in. Super excited for that 110mpg with current gas prices.
Mine gets 60mpg redlining at 45mph
I would love to own a navi to get to work on but they aren't for sale in the UK lucky guy to get 2. Love the content keep it up
That beat that played, as y’all were going down graffiti road, was actually pretty dope.
We in India never considered it as a motorcycle. We knew it as a scooter with the tried and tested 110cc Honda Activa engine(I have an Activa at home XD). It was discontinued when the BSVI norms kicked in and if it were to be made BSVI compliant it would be obnoxiously overpriced. It is still produced in HMSI plant and goes there via CKD route. The engine is dead reliable and can withstand more than 100k Kms.
I rode it once and it feels faster than it goes actually. Hope USA enjoys what India did.
I had owned one of these in india( 2016)
Well i live in darjeeling, it used to go smoothly ,no hurry, topspeed of 81kmph. And around 8bhp in papers . It was fun filtering through traffic and corners due to a bit stiff rear suspension compared to others scooters,it didn't had a footbrake(it had a left brake lever) and even didnt had a fuel gauge either, still a fun bike/scooter
km just gives you a bigger number
Dude you should 100% start a show! loved this.
I love this video! Forwarded to three friends. Have read about centralia but never seen footage. thanks for the fun!
Glad you enjoyed it!
