#Honda #Navi #Review - Auta a dopravní prostředky
I am absolutely loving the "everyman" bikes Honda is coming out with lately. They gained huge marketshare years ago by marketing to non-moto riders, I think they're poised to do it again.
Modernized fat cat would be awesome
I've never had amotorcycle, got my MSF out of the way, now Honda has made me a new Biker.
The monkey is more monkey than this thing that's crazy.
They sucks. They cannot see the real hole in market, which is using super cub (Jawa) like transmition on bike with 15 HP. That would be the best ,,scooter,,. You do not need motorcycle licence for that in many countries, just licence for car. Now you can buy 15 HP PCX and other automatic scooters, but as I owned super cub, I must say, it is much more fun, while semi-automatic transmition still keeps you from crashes, I did had to break once due to taxidriver did turned infrom of me, when he should wait. I had 4th gear, when I full stop. No problem.
Honda has been doing this market strategy since day one. The term “you meet the nicest people on a Honda” goes back to the 60’s and 70’s with the CB and Cub models.
I am SERIOUSLY considering this as my FIRST 2-wheel purchase. I run so many errands that are 5 miles or less. Even my drive to work is less than 4 miles.
Try a Onewheel!🙌
Do it.
It would be perfect for you
It will be the best decision you ever make. But I must warn you, it is addicting.
@@Tangeffect I love my Onewheel.. I’m getting this too lmao
when Honda first announced this i thought "what's the point of an automatic Grom??" but for $2k its a steal. Groms never depreciate around me
Same here, a used Grom is $3,000 here.
Groms here are 1500 bucks. I almost bought one for 500 few months ago
They really don't

After looking at the Grom for my commute to and from work 16 miles all together, I think the Navi is the choice. No clutch, no worries, I can always upgrade to to a Grom after learning on the Navi. These gas prices are quickly changing my mind.
Just get a Grom. I own one and you only pay $5 for a full tank a gas like once a week or once every few days.
@@Speedpunk650 I ended up getting a Kawasaki z125. Best financial decision I made when gas prices started surging. I’m ready to upgrade to a Ninja 650 😉
Have you been hit yet on you're little scooter yet ?
@@vicaras1 nope.
thats what I plan on doing. Would be my first bike ever so. I dont want the hassles of everything else just yet.
I have:
A: problems with my leg that prevent me from shifting easily
B: A desire to get an around-town bike to save money on gas.
This is perfect for me.
It's crazy fun.
B: Than buy Honda Pcx 125cc
@@2parasha pcx is to much bike. This or a Honda ruckus, or both ;)
I also have a bad leg, one with 2 rods in It that makes shifting less then ideal.
mad respect. this thing is cheap and has KICK START, that is un heard of in modern bikes.
Don't forget the drum brakes, carburetor, plus side stand and center stand. 🙂👍
I even traded a 2015 Yamahazuma 125 scoot for a 2019 Honda Supercub - the zuma had 4,000 more miles, but he wanted to trade - a few couple years ago. The supecub battery died after frequent key fob baterry drains. My sloping driveway or parking lots are dnough to push start a geared 125.
Okay, this is actually incredibly tempting over a Grom. I'd been considering a engine swapped ruckus as a runabout toy, but this is cutting out some of that work AND it actually has storage. I'm positive this little scooter is going to get a strong aftermarket scene, especially with that nice price. Hopefully though, you can decouple the brakes.
I see two cables going to the front brake. Maybe detaching one of them would do that? I highly doubt that the coupling is electronic.
Get a used Grom
Same price

Love the review. More in depth than any other review i've seen And covers a whole lot of the Navi's neat party tricks and hidden features. Outstanding work man.
I keep coming back to this bike. It really checks a lot of boxes as a daily ride. Can’t wait to see one. Thanks for a great test ride report!
Got mind preordered! Coming from riding 50cc mopeds this is exactly what I have been looking for. Will give me enough power that I don’t feel like I’m gonna die on 45 mph roads
its the dealers. honda has no control what the dealer marks up will b. seen them as high as 4100.
Fantastic, in-depth review. Strongly swayed towards the bike now for commuting to work. You have earned a viewer keep up the great work!
I ended up buying a Navi as a third bike. Truthfully, I enjoy it more than my bigger bikes for short trips. It's perfect for running to the grocery store or any where under five to seven miles. I've been keeping track of the fuel mileage. So far, the worst tank of gas was 88 Miles per Gallon and the best tank so far has been 105 Miles per Gallon. It will be interesting to see what the Honda dealer charges for the first service at 1,000 km, which I am fast approaching.
how's it going?
So, what’s your experience with the service charge on the Honda Navi? If you don’t mind, do you still reside in Texas?
Love the Ryobi green.
Awesome review Alex. You covered it all. Even where it was made. For all you new riders out there, don’t complain about having to take a rider course. If you want to ride bad enough, that’s the price you pay to play! Best thing about Honda scooters is they take speed mods real well. Without any aftermarket parts I could get you 3-5 mph (top end speed) on a torque converter tweak. Carb is also a good thing too. Not many mods for FI. Should not be an issue to de-link the brakes at the pedal. Very cool bike/scooter! Honda knows how to get people riding!
Due to health issues I have to have an automatic bike. However the safety course here won't allow you to use your own bike. Whats a guy to do
My wife and I have been looking for a mini-moto to putt putt around town, take down to the beach and grab brunch on, etc. You have officially sold this bike to me. All the questions I had about this thing, you've answered in detail and in a well shot/put together video, thank you! Keep up the great work and ride safe brotha!
Great review! Never heard of it until now and the fact you are a local from me... Awesome and safe out there.
As long as dealers don't gouge customers they will sell a ton. New riders need to start somewhere.
They WILL gouge customers with adm mark up fees.
Will be 2750 out the door i bet
$2700 out the door is not cheap. I want 5 minimoto to replace my Forza but will get 3 of these or at least 2. I would want the 3rd one to be have dual sport tires or I'll get a Trail 125 for non paved roads in Mexico.
Just called honda miami and 3400$ 😂 howwww??

Nice vid Alex. Very comprehensive. I appreciate the cameo.
Best review. I'm 72. I've logged over 50,000 miles on scooters. I'm definitely selling my Piaggio Beverly touring scooter and buying a much easier to handle Navi . My other scooter is a Yamaha BWS/Zuma scooter.
I have a Piaggio BV200
Really can't believe you want to sell your BV.. cuz I want the new bv400 but I'll settle for the 350
Interesting, I'll for sure share the Navi with my dad. I'm only home 1 week per month. Piaggio was once & kind of is what I always wanted but did a favor for a friend & got stuck with a Forza until it got stolen.
Thanks for taking the seat off and going over the bike. You’ve been the only one that showed the whole bike. I was thinking about a Ruckus but kept hearing how miserable weak they are. Think I’ll check the Honda dealership .
Great review of the NAVI. Picking up mine tomorrow. Thanks.
Brilliant, thorough and smile inducing review. Excellent job! 😄
The USA version is a little different from the version sold in my country, that's because both brake levers are on the handle bar. In my country the Navi is cheaper, it's priced about $1500, the storage box and side stand are optional. We also have the chinese copy, it's called Serpento Nova, it's even cheaper ($1280), but the storage box and side stand are included, the Nova doesn't have fuel gauge, just an indicator light for low fuel, however it has a front disc brake and alloy wheels. I think it's a good bike for beginners and for moving around city

This thing looks fun. But for my needs, just riding around the neighborhood,my ebike serves its purpose well.If i were commuting around town though I would pick this over a grom because of the price and being automatic, and also being able to hit 50mph is great for those 45mph speed limits where a 50cc just doesn’t feels safe out there on the roads.
Honda dealer wanted 5k for a used Grom. Only 300 miles. Another dealer wanted $4200 for 2018 with 300 miles. I took the second one. After registration and tax it came to $5k. I like it. This Navi is a steal.
Great video. Thanks to you I knew more about this bike than my dealer did when I picked up my ugly greenish/yellow Navi yesterday.
Very good review and video! That really looks like fun!
Awesome review. Never owned a bike before, but for the price and MPG and comfort, this one is so appealing!
I was looking at a battery operated bicycle but when I heard about this I was blown away. I liked the trail 125 (especially the big back area for a milk crate for groceries). I'm disappointed so far that no other after market companies have come up with a bigger than "Honda" back area to hold "just" a little more groceries. If someone comes out with a bigger area "trunk" area...I will most likely get this!!
My fiance got me this bike as a gift. I am 5'4" and able to ride comfortably! It was my first time riding a scooter/bike before and after riding a bit on the road with him I got the hang of it. Now all I want to do is go out and ride! Lol so much fun!!
Love that !
AWESOME LIL'BIKE ! Son got a neglected Grom at a garage sale and ordered a Navi for his wife that has a January delivery date. First batch of Navis sold in Oklahoma... He's talking about a "Wrap" custom 'paint job' on both bikes. Like the Vance and Hines custom in your video. THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR EXPERIENCE
imagine this style body on some of the bigger scooters....
I own a 78' cb400 hondamatic road bike. It's fun. It will fly. But even having had 8 other manual clutch bikes, I LOVE the hondamatic, and my wife is learning to ride with it.
They absolutely should come back with it.
Yep.
Great system.
I'm impressed. For the first time ever the U.S. actually gets extra features like the storage box and the side kickstand that international doesn't get. I don't want this as my next bike but it would be cool as hell to mod one out to death though I've already done that with a Z125 so I'm not sure if it even makes sense to do really... though I love the more Tron-like look of this thing! Also, that blue one with the Kicker would be badass!
Who buys a z125 when u have a grom as an option honda will always be better and more reliable
@@mannygonzalez2868 No lol
Great video, best Honda Navi 2022 review I've seen on CZcams
I live in SoCal and have done the Balboa ferry maybe 500 times or more, mostly riding my beach cruiser bicycle. It is iconic. But now with $6+ gas, and having grown up riding motorcycles, that little Navi looks like pure fun for just scooting around.
In Thailand we have a lot of choice for motorbikes since they are a staple of life here. The popular ones at the moment are Honda PCX and Yamaha NMAX/XMAX, both of which are belt driven automatics, 125-155CC bikes in a step over style rather than scooter. They come in under 3k USD. In comparison to the Grom and Navi these are more of a full sized bike and handle the roads just fine (up to 80mph), good for both men and woman. The Honda Grom I believe is called the Honda MSX here and goes for 2k USD.
Would honestly love to see this in Thailand but no word at all.
I remember you making fun of that brown color and I was like it’s my favorite one! 😂. Glad to hear you changed your mind, I think I’ll preorder that one
I'm getting the grasshopper green. My dealer wasn't getting the brown. I wasn't a fan of brown at first, but I bet it looks better in person
United States has very interesting military colors. While Mexico has mainstream & one sporty color.
Great review! Definitely on my purchase list.
Keep up your great work at describing the operation of bikes and explaining the controls and how the bike operates. Do this for the Honda Rebel 1100 DCT.
I wanted to get another grom after selling mine and upgrading to a 500. But I think i’ll get this as my second motorcycle as it’s perfect for running around town and getting groceries or stuff
A cool looking $1800 scooter is a no brainer. Having a carb just means it will live forever, as long as you learn some basic mechanic skills. And a kickstarter? Hell yea. Modern bikes are too complicated and too expensive.
Good point, home maintenance looks easy on this honda Navi, great informative video.
I have a car but the current sky high cost of gas means I am tempted to buy this for the short 5 mile commute to work! My car hasn't even warmed up fully when I arrive so it doesn't get optimal fuel economy until about 12 to 15 miles on a journey.

My favorite bike of all time is the Honda 50. That is a very cool bike there. I just got an XL185 to fix up to put around on.
I think the one that was made by steady garage was meant to look more like a cafe racer, still looks cool regardless and I hope theres a lot of aftermarket support for these like the there was for the older Honda two strokes.
I request another drag race 😂 great video man!!
I bought a 2020 Vitacci Rocket 150cc and did a lot of upgrades, that bike runs great and is a lot of fun!

I see there are some features different from the version sold in Mexico, for instance, we have two different keys, a smaller one for the box, it comes without kill switch, and no foot brake, but We do have more custom accesories, probably they will come out in the US next year.

Have a 2016 Dec Navi (Orange). Never had an issue - it's been real handy even as a daily !
Price is good but here in Florida you would have to take a two day safety course ($500) to get a license (over 50 cc). That course is thanks to Harley Davidson. They negotiated the exclusive rights to the safety course for the first 3 years then lobbied and pushed for the law. Another reason I hate HD.
Same Here in NY you would need your motorcycle license.
Instead of making people learn how to ride. They should teach drivers how to not kill motorcyclist on the road.
$500? It was $200 for me in holiday FL.
I guess things have changed in FL since I lived there, but you used to be able to take "Rider's Edge" (harley course) or the MSF put on in many cities we had the MSF at DBCC in the parking lot.
@@GregHuston For the first 3 years (as stated above) it was exclusively HD. After that time period others have been allowed to give the course.
It's really tough not to consider this when you see the price tag. I always wanted a small "scooter" sorta bike when I'm staying close to home.
Linked breaks is a throwback to the original formula that made the Cub the best selling vehicle on earth, the idea is that you can do everything with one hand and it is easier to ride. Having a small bike with a big locking storage on it makes it very practical as a city and suburban commuting bike and the CVT makes stop and go around town easy. Also it's cheaper than a Ruckus.
That tron inspired one has me drooling at the idea of one of these, particularly for how cheap it is.
I want this bike I wonder how long it takes to get it or if it will just be in the store
Great video man! And just an fyi, I think they linked the brakes for two reasons. One the parking brake duh, and the fact that the CVT does not like to come to halting stops or skids due to its nature of how it gradually speeds/slows. Unlike a clutch which you can disengage and re-engage at speed.
My notes for Honda, parking brake is useless since it has a center stand which works perfectly fine on any steepness of hill because you don’t face a scooter/motorcycle directly up or downhill. Take my word, I do food delivery via (49cc) moped in Honolulu!
the parking brake is so you don't start it full throttle and it rips off without you
@@aeroflopper why would full throttle occur? Your assuming the rider makes that mistake? That’s like assuming cars have parking brakes for the same reason?
The linked brakes on the Navi exist for only one reason: it was designed and made in India based on the the Honda Activa scooter. As per Indian government regulations, any motorcycle/scooter over 200cc should have ABS. Vehicles with smaller engines need to have linked brakes.
I’ve been researching this bike for a little while now and I think I’m gonna get one for my wife. It’ll be her first motorcycle and I think this is perfect.
Reminds me of my mini-trail 50 of 1969, except for the speed. For beginner riders, manufacturers need to think about change over training. Getting used to new brake controls can be confusing. Front brakes - right lever, rear =foot petal. Link the front brake lever if ya have to.
Maybe Honda heard enough complaints from us Cub owners about not having a side stand they decided on putting it on the Navi.
For $1,800 it's a great deal. I definitely gotta pick up one or two of these.
Buys it for $1,800... spends $3,500 in mods lol bet
You won’t find one even close to 2K. Gonna b 3300 OTD
@@grooviefan It was 3300 OTD for my Z125 so yeah, that's not happening lol

$1,807 sounds good but all the dealers near me will be charging $2800-$3000 after fees. Far too much for this bike.
Same goes for the grom. Cant leave the dealer for under 4500 and at that price I'll buy a full size bike from a few years ago

Is the hand brake for both wheels or just the rear?
Or just the front?

I have been debating getting a motorcycle for about 7 years now. It's a cycle I keep going through in my head where I think about how cool/fun it would be to put a rack on it and get groceries, or have someone on the back to go sight seeing with. There's something so silly yet admirable about the image of loading a motorcycle up with groceries. Then I think about it practically and realize how if that'll be all it gets used for, I'd be better off putting that money towards upgrading my car. Or I just rent a motorcycle for a day to get the feeling out of my system. I haven't done that yet though because I don't want to ruin the fantasy by learning how the reality doesn't come close.
Even so, that doesn't stop me from running through this motorcycle fantasy several times a year for weeks on end. I just love the machines and concept. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk.
Do it, you only live once. If you find out it's not for you, sell it. At least you won't have any regrets. If you end up loving riding, it will open up a whole new world for you.
Do it.
I had the same type of fantasy. Ended up getting a Grom that was on sale, they delivered it to me since I didn't have my license. Ended up having it for 3 years, sold it for almost what I paid. Bought two scooters as well, kept one which I still have. Next moto will be a little bigger than the Grom but not much bigger since I'm a short person. Probably a BMW 310R or similar.
Just get one! I got a Honda cb300r at 40 and I can't believe I waited so long! For the price u can't have more fun, sure it's dangerous but the feeling of being on the bike flying down the oceanside after a long hot day is incredible!

You wont find them used under 1800. Dealers are marking these up and with fees it ends up being around 3k. You might find one used for 2200.
I love the idea of this and I feel like it could get more people into motorcycling but I wish they’d get the power up enough for it to do 55 uphill somewhat easily. Maybe put a governed speed limit at 55 so no one will be tempted to take it on the highway.

I like it, but it needs a triforce emblem due to the name.

I really like the navi , it looks cool , has a cool sound and many perks. Im thinking about buying it as my first motorcycle. But im not too sure yet since the nearest town is 8 and a half miles away from my home.
Had a 2017 Grom and sold it an my buddy just got the 2022 Navi and to be honest it’s nice to not have to shift lol. It’s a fun bike for sure !
Might be a dumb question but for bikes like this (Navi, Ruckus, Cubs etc), do you all transport them on a truck or something to the location you want to ride for the day? Reason I ask is, while I'd LOVE to ride around the coast in Newport...there's no way I'd be able to get there via local/surface streets from Pasadena lol.
You could but it would take hours.

Sounds like a nice price. It seems like it would be great for getting around town.
I've had a Honda Ruckus for 5yrs now, and well scooters in general are aimed at a different segment I'D LOVE to see a Ruckus come with a similar engine or displayment.

Nice bumper bike for the RV crowd 👍
I would say it's a great bike for someone who's scared shittless. It would give them a chance to relax add appreciate the freedom. The navvies going to be like a 250 rebel. It's going to have 20 owners. And 2000 miles. Great idea with great potential...
Haha. Yeah. Like me slamming the bike down on my knee in my beginner class. I couldn’t move and I thought I broke my leg or tore me knee. My knee pads saved me. So, I need something light that won’t pin me if it falls on me. Especially since I’m single and female and ride by myself. Kind of want the clutch and brake for practice, but it’s a start. Even racers start somewhere. Haha.
Never let anyone ride your bike, they'll drop it for sure & won't want to pay anything out.
What are you talking about scared? Dude I’m going to buy this just to screw around on, go camping with, and stick on the back of the travel trailer. I’ve got 3 other bikes to ride on the street. This thing is rad.

This is actually pretty neat because in my jurisdiction the cheap insurance bracket is 49cc-109cc. The Grom is in the 110cc-400cc bracket and costs much more for insurance - you'd be better off getting a Ninja
