  • Not this I’m 100% sure we ha e a broken crankshaft, I’ve started tearing it down further to get the short block to a local machine shop.

Also I couldn’t see if the crank pin was still on the snout but the next crank u get make sure it has a key way machined in it. This is somewhat common of a problem on the duramax it shears the stupid pin and the damper starts wobbling around or the reluctor wheel spins as well and your timing gets thrown off and bam u are where u are now.

For sure wanna see you keep going. If you go to your local 99 cent store. You can get. A suction phone mount to get some shots if you wanted.

Flip it over and pull some main caps and inspect the block before u keep going. If the crank damaged the block u are wasting your time. You are doing the right thing by pulling the heads but u don’t have to pull them or the cam to do it on the cheap. There should be some threaded holes on the reluctor wheel and I think it’s m8 1.25 get some bolts and use them as a pusher or just pull All the main cap side bolts and vertical bolts then pull the crank out without pulling the other head and cam. If u are worried about seeing the valves and cylinders pull just the injectors and bore scope it.
