    The Ender 3 is one of the most popular printers of 2018 with a very large user base available online at websites like Reddit, Facebook, and CZcams, all filled with resources which help to improve the experience for a new user or an experienced hobbyist.
    New design features improve upon the wildly successful Ender 3 model 3D printer. Improvements to the Y axis improve stability, and the alteration of the control box unit move the fan to the bottom of the unit, no longer under the print bed.
    Our all new magnetic bed surface for easy model removal is included stock on the Ender 3 Pro. Easily remove the magnetic print surface from the hotbed and remove models with no spatula or razor necessary.
    The brand name Meanwell power supply delivers more power with a stable output ensuring the temperature fluctuations are minimized, especially during long and intensive prints. Heat the hotbed faster and to higher temperatures before making the Ender 3 Pro a much better option for printing ABS and other high temperature high strength filaments.

      if the speaker is too loud jut get a piece of soft paper and put it in the hole of the spaker then a piece of tape on it and you won't hear it anymore..... did that on my ender 3 and you barely hear the anoying beep anymore

      I would like to say I really enjoyed your video. I'm a noob and just purchased a ender 3 pro. I printed the dog on the sd card, came out great! I downloaded the the ribbon clip file from thingiverse but can seem to print it. How do I do this?

    • @JustVlads
      @JustVlads  Před 5 lety +6

      Once you download the STL file from thingiverse you have to slice it in a program called Cura which will make a G-Code for the printer to understand. So you might want to watch a tutorial on how to use Cura.

    So I made a noob mistake and started printing the tool tray without supports in the slice. Surprisingly the Ender 3 Pro did the cross bar perfectly without supports. I thought for sure I would have to scrap the print 8 hours in when I realized my mistake but it actually drew it mid air with minimal defects. I was blown away.

    Great video. I just set-up my Ender 3 Pro, though I bought it about 2 months ago. I had the same issue with the bed being too far below the hot-end during my first attempt at bed-leveling. I was pretty frustrated but took a break and came back. It worked out much better during my second attempt. Sometimes patience wins the day. These printed upgrades are all really useful because they are practical. I like that. I downloaded nearly all of the files from Thingiverse and will be printing them soon. Thanks for all the tips on this product. You definitely helped me out with an overall understanding of what areas may become pain points in the near future.

I am impressed with how clean the printer looks in the video... mine turned so dirty after my first try n' error experience. I am astounded at the number of fixes these things need, coming out of the box. Realigning, shims and brackets, cutting stops off of limit switches. This is RE-MANUFACTURING! And you haven’t plugged it in yet! One fellow advocates opening the control box, and making certain all of the wires are tightly connected (two of his weren’t). These can’t ALL be made on Monday. Within my first month in the hobby, two hot ends failed for me (one shorted, one lost control), and the bed was warped. On One the bed was not even attached to the carriage, and the wheels were very loose.
    The whole field seems to be in DIY mode, like in video: “We’ll fix it in post...”
    I do have to say that the step motor endurance and accuracy is amazing. They are now into X, Y, Z., retaining accuracy over 52 hour builds I remember when HP plotters were leading-edge. And the slicing software...defining vectors for the head to move through space depositing hot plastic. It makes sense to use the xyz for CNC, if the gantry is strong enough to carry the stresses of a serious cutting head.
    If you’re accustomed to command-p to print, this field is not ready for you.....leveling, tweaking temps and fans...

    i got the ender3 a couple of days ago. i decided to not move the spool, but the z motor spacer and the lcd shroud i already printed. the clip for the feeder came in the kit, two or three of them actually.
    i am currently printing a base for 2 drawers that will go where your tub goes. and i have, printed a bunch of cable chain to tidy up the cables at the rear.
    today i should have a glass bed, auto leveling and some firmer bed mounts turning up, as well as some blue filament. im going with black and blue colour scheme for the printer.
    the feeder knob is on the list to be printed.
    love this printer its impressive quality.

    I just got an Ender 3 -- I paid $165 from Amazon with free shipping. These keep coming down; there's now a smaller printer (about half size workspace in each dimension) that's around $100. Once I get it assembled and a space to set it up (I have a plan, just need hours to work) I'll be ready to start printing the upgrade parts -- I collected every part you mentioned here on Thingiverse, so I can find them again quickly.
    Thanks for making this video -- stuff like this helps tremendously for those of us who are late to the party (because we don't have bleeding-edge budgets) get caught up. I've been saying for the past year I need to get a 3D printer -- now I just need to get it busy. And then, once I have have everything dialed in, I need to go through the learning curve for ABS, both for chemical/mechanical reasons, and so I can smooth my prints with minimum effort.

    Just so you know i recently bought the ender 3 pro from Creality.It came with the PTFE tube couplings to make sure it doesn't come out when doing retractions.

    To tone down the speaker (piezo buzzer), simply put a piece of electrical tape over the hole. Awesome tutorial... bought my Ender 3 Pro yesterday and can't wait to get out to my shop to assemble it.

    As of February (When I got my printer) the Ender 3 does come with a plastic mod for the issue with the coupling problem, so they’re at least aware of THAT issue as of now. Lol

      Yes, but I just bought mine in Dec 2020 and they still haven't taken the time to actually fix it. They're still sending the spacers to fit on top of the coupler.

    • @hanspy2
      @hanspy2 Před 2 lety

      @@cypsrp7924 The spacer is there to open the coupler. Put in the bowden tube and push firm , than take the spacer out and it is fixed.

    I personally don't recommend using bearings on the spool holder, but all my experience is with direct drive extruders. Might work better for bowden, but you generally want a little bit of drag on the spool to prevent it from unwinding too fast, or else you might get some slack on your spool which might fall off and get snagged on something. Almost certainly a bigger issue with direct-drive over bowden, but just sharing some of my experience.

    Thanks for that info. I just got my Ender 3 pro and had the issue with the micro switch being too high making it difficult to adjust the surface gap. Trimmed off the small tab as you did and was able to have a positive gap adjustment without running out of thread on the adjuster wheels.

    5:10 Mine actually came with these clips injection molded! I like that they take working solutions and include them in the kit. A different fitting would be nice, but why make the printer that much more expensive if the clips work this well.

    I don't know if you know this or not by now, but you can get stepper motor smoothers for the X, Y, Z and E axis for your Ender 3 (and 2, 4 and 5 too) that will get rid of all those layer lines you mention. It made such a HUGE difference in my prints that I am touting the gospel of the smoothers! Good luck and great video.

    Now that you have so many 3d printers you should make weekly videos on things to 3d print for tech you have reviewed that week. This could be really useful if we wanted to improve tech we get.

    Good tray - as you probably know, over time pla will shrink and that tray will slide easier. Maybe there are filaments that are designed not to shrink over time but all my builds shrink, which makes it hard to have any pieces built originally with some precision remain in that precision over time.
    Your builds do look nice, good examples.
    I totally agree about mounting that spool way up in the air where it will rock the printer.
    You want just a bit of drag when you use bearings on the spool holder - otherwise the momentum can overrun the draw rate of the bowman feeder. Happy accident it ended up canted just enough on your design.

    The bed so high with that small piece in the sensor bracket is because the Ender 3 Pro comes prepared for the glass bed already, I think. Once you leveled the bed without it, there's no issues leveling again, except if you want to put/take out the glass sheet.
