From an American HR perspective, people wanting them to come out with the drama immediately are ridiculous. As an employer ousting a partner, they needed to be SO careful to not get sued into the ground on this. Between slander/lible, wrongful termination, hostile work environment, Title IX, brand deal requirements, and basic HR standards, there was no way they could talk about this immediately. There's also no way they could say everything they may want to. Your desire for tea is defying logic.

THANK YOU!! The other guys are straight up getting hate rn and being called snakes claiming they only did something when he was publicly caught (when we all found out about it). Legally, they have to be SO fucking careful because any misstep can lead to a potential lawsuit and ned possibly winning that lawsuit. This is legal stuff, you can’t openly talk about every single detail because then, you’re jeopardizing the entire case since it’s not yet concluded. I’m sure they may divulge more detail once everything is said and done with in regards to Ned but people’s desire for tea about this situation is almost dangerous

So legally, I don't think they were just trying to keep a secret like between kids at a sleepover it's an entire family and company they knew together. They would have to keep his secret as well as him because every person in their shared life. Lie to the same people as Ned, to seal the secret like a pool of water anyway especially being online

I think people keep forgetting that Ned wasn't fired because he cheated. He was fired because he conducted an *inappropriate relationship with an employee/subordinate.* Even if you ignore the power imbalance within the relationship, you still have to consider that what he did was painfully illegal and could open up not only Ned to a lawsuit, but the other Try Guys, their company, etc. if they knew and allowed it to continue. That's why they had to spend weeks conducting an investigation, speaking to lawyers, and couldn't speak on the issue publicly immediately. This is one of the 1st things you learn in Sexual Harrassment training in a corporate company; pursuing a relationship, consensual or not, in a corporate setting where one party has direct control over the other party's employment, pay, promotions, etc. is a HUGE NO-NO. That's why Quid Pro Quo Harrassment is such a big deal.
Personally, if any of the other guys or employees knew or had a feeling that Ned was cheating on his wife or was a bit "flirtatious" prior to this, I can completely understand them ignoring it. After all, they are not Ned's keeper, they are his friends and what he gets up to privately is not their business. And whose to say that they haven't approached him in the past about questionable behaviors if it's happened before. The reason they reacted so severely and are probably so betrayed and upset over the situation isn't just because he cheated, but because of WHO he cheated with could have endangered everything they've built over almost a decade including their livelihoods and careers.
People treating this like a simple cheating scandal are missing the point entirely. Ned had a long-term relationship with a person whom he controlled their entire professional career. The fact that it was extramarital or that the employee in question consented has nothing to do with the legal problems that relationship can cause.

Unless she filed a sexual harassment claim, this would NOT open them up to any lawsuits. Period. And I very highly doubt she did that. When I hear "power imbalance" I think of it's someone that got groomed (as a minor) to get into a relationship right away, which didn't happen. I'm sorry, but firing someone over a "power imbalance" is bs. There's many people that have a relationship with their bosses and end up marrying them. To automatically jump to "buT It WAs PowER DYnaMICs" is nothing but childish to jump to. There's NO such thing as a power dynamic in a freaking CONSENUAL workplace relationship, with there not being a sexual harassment claim filed at all. I'm sorry, but if he's being fired for this (of which he did) then she should be too. BOTH partook in a consensual relationship. There's NO such thing for lawsuits for them to face had they kept him on. She can't file a lawsuit when she didn't file a complaint. And unless there's ANY complaints from ANYONE for sexual harassment from HIM, they knee jerked, and this was quite bs.

@@tinykittenlollipop1 this is the dumbest thing I have heard, Ned was one of the four owners, there was no one to keep him in check, he was also the HR, and he didn't disclose his relationship. People who have a relationship with their boss have to file an HR report and the company had people above their bosses to keep an eye out on things. This relationship is made WITHOUT THE KNOWLEDGE OF ANYONE IN THE COMPANY, that's grounds for legal trouble. He isn't fired for power imbalance, he is fired for hiding the relationship and probably had a public morality clause in his agreement. Again, this could have ended way worse for the company because they are entertainers, they need public support to do their jobs.

Hold on, I have to play Devil's advocate here.
Cheating is certainly a shitty thing to do. Been there, done that and I feel your pain.
However, the big drama in this situation is about having sex with a subordinate, *especially* because he was an owner and his whole brand is husband/father. If he had been caught with some random woman it would be completely different. Unless they have a pretty strict professional/ethical conduct clause in their contract, they most likely would not be able to do much about that. As the main HR guy, Ned likely wrote the contracts.
Given that, it's pretty silly to express sympathy for Ariel right after staying that you want her to possibly be a struggling single mom. Because if Need can't work in the media fields, all he has to fall back on is his chemistry degree that he hasn't used in a decade or more. He's not going to make much money that way. That will directly affect Ariel, Wes and Finn.
Sure, no prospective employer will want him on the front lines. But he has done brilliant work producing popular video content (I think he was the brain behind the original Try Guys video at Buzzfeed). It won't be exciting or allow the same control/input but he will make enough money to help the family he wronged. Ariel may even give the marriage another chance, in which case he definitely needs to keep earning good money.
Yeah, cheating hurts a lot, but don't try to punish everyone involved. Ned will forever be punished by realizing what he had and how he destroyed it for a plain skinny girl who can't hold a candle to his wife. I will never understand that.

And from a public standpoint, these guys have built their entire brand on the foundation that they are basically the exact opposite of what Ned has turned out to be. So even if they managed to skirt the legal repercussions, they could've easily had their careers come crashing down if fans decided that they were all full of shit and dipped out. One wrong move and Try Guys as a whole could've irredeemably had their image destroyed.
It would've been bad enough to do something like this as the owner of _any_ business, but it's especially shitty to have done it when you know the careers of your co-owners are dependent upon you being perceived as a decent person.

It makes perfect sense that the Try Guys made sure that what was going on was accurate and to take the right steps before prematurely telling everyone on social media. I bet that if they did, those same people saying they should have said it earlier would then be complaining that they should have waited for them to get all their evidence. People carrying on, calling them snakes and not separating what’s going on and what they legally need to do can fuck right off. People saying stuff like ''it's not that serious'' or ''you should not get fired for cheating'' are hopefully very, very young cause that's a ridiclous opinion to have. First of all, Alex worked under him. It does not matter if the relationship was consensual or not, he was still her boss which leaves a lot of room for questions of blackmail, manipulation and coersion. Secondly, he was a co-owner. You can't fire a co-owner, you can only negotiate the terms of them signing off their rights to the company. Finally, on a human level, he was someone they worked with and were friends with for years, Eugene is also a close friend of Ariel, if I remember correctly he was friends with her before he begun his friendship with Ned, these are real people involved in a very traumatic and hard situation and the only person I can fully blame is Ned and his selfishness. We will never know how much of what happened was due to power imbalance so I am not going to talk shit about Alex, even though I doubt she is innocent here.

Ned and Alex just placed them all in a PR and HR nightmare with their awful affair. I’m genuinely glad that the majority of the Internet understands that this is NOT the other Try Guys’ faults. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the cheating scandal (especially since not only he cheated, knowing full well that he’s known as the “Wife Guy” and how much it would hurt his wife and kids and friends involved, but he cheated with a _employee in a subordinate position_ for _months_ at least), all it takes for everything to take a nosedive is if Alex mentions that she felt “pressured” for this legal issue to spiral beyond their control.
Ned could’ve costed them all their careers and jobs, not only Keith’s, Eugene’s and Zach’s but literally everyone else who worked under them as well. He already costed them a good deal of money, and if they hadn’t handled it all as astonishingly as well as they did, at least 30+ people would’ve been out of a job just like that.

If she is STILL employed by try guys that's very, very awkward and for future employment? If this true that she has totally alienate any jobs in the future. She is basically unemployable.

I have a feeling she’s legally claiming this was not consensual and she was coerced into this. The guys are prob looking into how to let her go legally without any issue.

It's a good example, how the selfishness of one person affects a lot of people's life's in return.
Looking at Ned's position in the company, I thing the guys handled this the best way possible. And to explain in detail what, and why they did what they did, is a good way to silence anyone accusing them of overreacting ECT.
I think they did a good job.
Thx for another great video, get well soon 😉 ☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕
