Wow. The Russian voices are the best. The actor playing Sherlock has the right timbre and the susurration of Ben's speech impediment to make it sound just like him. Wow. I really miss it if the voices don't have the same chemistry as the original actors. This made me realize just how much I love Martin's voice against Ben's, like vinegar and oil.

But as a Russian-speaking person, I must admit that the Russian voices and intonations are quite good, really. Especially Benedict's deep, rich voice ;)

Оригинал вне конкуренции,у Бена действительно шикарно поставленный,глубокий,низкий,бархатный баритон!!! Итальянский дубляж не особо впечатлил,чересчур уж высокий подростковый голос показался. Русский дубляж мне кажется очень профессиональный с технической точки зрения,особенно сам тембр голоса приближен к оригиналу,да и сам по себе голос прекрасен,особенно в третьем сезоне!) Испанский мне лично понравился ну и Французский дубляж тоже весьма приятный и профессиональный,хоть сами тембры голосов совсем не похожи на оригинальные)
голоса Бена и рикмана считаются самыми сексуальными голосами в Англии))

I'm French but I don't really like their voice, maybe because I'm used to watch this series in the original version (I don't know if my English is correct, sorry...)
The only other version - besides the original of course, nothing can beat that - that works for me is the Russian one. At least Sherlock sounds... right. This voice is closest to Benedict's (and I like Russian).
The Spanish one made me laugh. And French sounded like they were speaking backwards O.o

I'm French, and I'm so proud of this version! Of course the english one is the best, the original, but yeah, the French one is not so bad! We are lucky! For me, the best French TV Show voices for an English/USA serie!
This is actually the first time that I like a dubbed version of something . The Russian dub was really good ^ ^
The Italian version changed Sherlock's voice when it changed broadcaster. They went for a lower voice, and I personally liked the choice. This version it's so distant from Benedict's voice. I'm impressed by the Russian...it's like Ben talking Russian :D
Is it just me or do the voices of Russian Sherlock and French Watson sound very similar to the voices of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman? They did a good job picking the voices

I wish I could speak Russian. Cumberbatch's Russian dub sounds great. The worst dubbing though is German which you have luckily not included here. And I think I should rewatch the series in Spanish some day... :)
Nah, I hate German dubbings. For a German, it sounds rubbish in 99% of the cases. I prefer the original or Spanish dub. Although Brasilian dub isn't usually so bad either.

I'm used to listen the italian version (with a Sherlock with a juvenile voice); so, when I heard the english one for the first time, I was terribly shocked by the deep voice of Benedict Cumberbatch XD

I'm torn between the French and Russian dub. The Russian voice actor for Sherlock has a great voice that comes closest to the original, but I prefer the flow and rhythm of the French. The French dub also fits best with the mouth movements. But nothing compares to the original.

well the Russian sounds exactly like the real voices of the actual english actors so it is the best one. Maybe what they are saying is bad but it terms of being close to the original it is the best one by far. Sherlock has a very deep voice and the Russian voice is the only one that was actually deep.
I'm so used to Benedict's dulcet and deep voice that nobody else can cut it - everyone's so higher pitched. The french one was nice, though, but the spanish John was a bit too deep for my tastes.
Nobody can ramble as good as Benedict though.

The Spanish dub makes me laugh. xD The voice actors do all right, and I can't comment on the translation because I don't actually speak Spanish, but Sherlock's voice is too high, John's is too low, and the voices don't blend in very well with the rest of the video, making it sound very clearly like a dub, if you know what I mean? The other languages sound pretty good, and dang, whoever cast those Russian voice actors should get some kind of award. They match the originals perfectly!
Pity they didn't include German. It's one of the languages I speak (more or less), and while I haven't had a chance to hear the Sherlock dub yet, my experience of German dubs in general is that they're usually done very well. :) I've been learning Russian, too, but don't know enough yet to really understand anything here ...

What I really like about our one(Russian) is that the voices sound different, they seem to have more personality, while, per esempio, in Italian they all sound like the same person dubbed all of the characters.
And in Spanish Watson's voice seems too low, no offence, plz, it's only my point of view

People complaining about dubbing are ridiculous. It would be very uncomfortable to watch series with subtitles. Also, there are a lot of countries where EVERY and ANY movie/show in foreign language is dubbed. There is simply no any subtitled stuff on TV in those countries. It's easy for native English-speakers to say: " Why there is dubbing? Subtitles are better." Why? Because 90% of movies/series/shows you watch are in your language! But for the rest of us is the other way around. So, we DO need dubbing, because we want to watch TV just like you. And if I want to hear "Benedict's sexy accent" I'll just watch an English version or find something on CZcams. What's the deal with dubbing, anyway? I hear Sherlock and John speaking Russian and it's a pleasure to me. Voice actors are perfect and nothing hurts my feels.
Umm, no. I'm not a native English speaker, and nothing in my country is dubbed except for children's shows and movies. Because kids can't read or read that fast yet, and they don't know English yet. When you grow up, you learn to read and you learn English in school. Everything's subtitled, in tv and in cinema. That's how people learn English, because they passively hear it all the time. Sorry, but people's English in the countries that dub everything tends to be awful. Dubbing is lazy. Subtitles also makes you a fast reader! Nobody complains about subtitles in my country, but pretty much everyone thinks dubbing is ridiculous. :D I watch my dvd's with English subtitles. Then you don't miss stuff even if they speak fast and difficult stuff, like Sherlock. No, you most definitely don't NEED dubbing. You're just used to it. I want to hear the original voices, how their intonation is, how they express emotions etc, thank you very much. Dubbing takes away from the actor's original performance! Subtitles do not. I know people from a "dubbing country" who absolutely hate it, and watch everything in English with subtitles. In their tv there's luckily an option (at least in some channels) to turn off the dubbing. I don't know if that's the case for example in Italy or France.
Hate to be the one that tells you are wrong but here in Norway we don't dub movies or series. We are quiet used to read the subs and sooner or later the eyes will follow the text as well as whats going on in screen. Only childrens movies and series are considered to be dubbed.

Russian is my native lagnuage and i speak English fluently. Ive watched SH in Russian at first, and then in English with eng subs. What may I say about voice selection... Well, in russian TV series dubbing I almost always see the perfect voice selection. But about translation... In some moments translation seems a tiny bit incorrect to me. For example: John came to visit Mrs Hudson after two years of Sherlock's absence and he had mustache. She said "It ages you" and then "Well, it ages you". In English version there is 1 phrase. In Russian translation there are two different phrases. And there are a lot of moments like that, some of them seems even rude.

I think the same, I think that works better for Sherlock's voice in Spanish Watson, and vice versa, he speaks very sharp in Spanish compared with the booming voice of Benedict..
I'm Spanish, I had never heard Sherlock in Spanish before this video and now I am bloody shocked. Thank God I've always watched it in English with Mr. Cumberbatch's -and Mr. Freeman's- great voice instead of the translation.

I'm italian, but i watch tv shows in english. I want to hear actors speaking their own language, i hate dubbing, here in Italy every movie or show is dubbed, but i hate it!

I've just seen the BBC series and must admit that the Cumberbatch/Freeman version is the best "modernized" adaptation of Holmes while Livanov/Solomin version is the best "classical" adaptation ever.
The Russian version is surprisingly fit Holmes's voice
