I hate how interviewers (and I don't really feel this applies to this instance, Stephen is pretty cool about it) get the idea that it's hilarious to bring up erotic fanfiction about their guest's characters to get a cheap reaction from the audience and try to catch their guest off guard.
Martin really knows how to react. He doesn't pull any embarrassed expressions (which sometimes seem to be expected from the interviewer, but not in this case) and call it weird. He knows *not to take it personally!*
What really gets me is that this sort of set up often ends up insulting the fans that make or enjoy this sort of fanart.
Stephen and Martin are both cool about it though. I just wish they would serve as an example to others.

Let me put it that way: I'm not too keen on shipping couples that aren't and probably never will be canon. Don't know why really.. probably b/c as much as I love fanfiction I kinda need to see it happening in the show as well.
But if they actually decided to make Johnlock canon in the next season god lord then one of my favorite TV shows just became without a doubt the best. For various reasons.
