From what I've read in interviews, he'd just hoped to be able to make a decent living as an actor and he finds the whole heart-throb thing a bit bewildering. I think the recent stalking episode also freaked him out a lot, especially as he was probably worried for the safety of his wife and baby boy.
Priscilla Jackson Yeah he recently had a female stalker turning up at his home and doing creepy stuff like tying a red ribbon onto his car, and another one who was live tweeting his every movement. From what I read in the newspapers I understand they've both been issued with court orders. Much as I admire Benedict, that sort of stuff is definitely crossing a line; the poor man is entitled to his privacy and it gives those of us who simply admire his acting, and enjoy watching his shows and movies, a bad name.
