Hi, NC resident here. No one can drive worth a damn. I live off a 35mph road that leads to a school, but it's really a 55mph freeway to some folks. I've been passed on this road by folks who would rather go into oncoming traffic just to not slow down to the speed limit. You need a dashcam and a gun around here, people are dumb crazy.
You should see some of the NJ drivers up here, its nuts
35mph when the school zone is in effect? Becuase if it's normally 55, yeah, you're gonna get passed. You don't have that right to impede traffic. I live in an area with a lot of 2 way highways. People get upset when I pass them, but they can meet my gun if they want to confront me about it. I simply don't have time for adults who want to act like children.
Also, if you get upset when someone passes you, stay off the road.

Lol, I was down in NC to visit grandparents once, some guy in a brand new corvette with no insurance T-boned my uncle. Right after I heard about that my dad and I were going to a food lion or some shit and some chick backed out onto a 35 right in front of us in a brand new M3 with no insurance, lmao. It seems like 35% of NC is retired people from all over who love the beach, and 65% people who live in trailers and own cars they can't afford.
The 2005 4-Runner is a better vehicle than what is sold today, IMHO.

You're wrong about the upgrade because a new car will have touchscreens and crap that manufacturers use to track drivers.
2:52 , That line right there. A 05 with 229k miles on it. It was ended prematurely due to someone else's mistake, but they can go on for soo many more miles. Less hassle to work on than newer ones. Less technology than newer ones, meaning less issues to deal with. Downside is that parts are becoming more scarce when it comes to being able to obtain to repair them.

I use to live in Clayton NC. I’ve seen my share of bad drivers, was even in two accidents. Now I live in Colorado and they are just as bad here.

I would have to imagine that the driver in the Subaru was too busy texting on their phone while driving through a huge storm with down trees to pay attention enough to the person in front of them coming to a stop.

My reason you are wrong about the 4Runner is because the early 2000’s were the golden age for Toyota’s. They have gone downhill since. So she would be losing by getting an upgrade.

Some individuals in North Carolina should have their licenses revoked.
Not just here, there are stupid drivers everywhere in this country. We have a lot of people that moved here from the northeast like Jersey /New York, so that attributes to some of it especially around the Raleigh area.
Like hell Alex was doing 30mph. If he had been driving at a speed dictated by the storm and driving conditions maybe he could have braked soon enough to avoid the tree.

Legal to uturn on red in most states. Only rule to it is. You can't enter intersection to do so on red light. Have to uturn before intersection. side of cross walk lines or the curbs. Draw parrell line next to cross walk line. Start ends at where curbs curve. That's the safety uturn bobble if your state permits uturn. In blue tesla case. He has curb protecting their right. So only concern is on coming. 45%in wrong. 55%high chance level safe driving.

That truck at 7:10 belongs to the company I work for 😂. Fortunately the office I work for is in western Maryland.
I drive by the exit in that last one everyday. Would have been interesting to witness… usually it’s just people trying to get across the lanes near Wade that cause issues.

as someone from NC, I can agree that no one here needs their license.
You gotta do one for Michigan, the drivers are so bad there! My mom recently was in some road rage with some psychopath because she gave the man a slight honk for not going at a green light. The man brake checked her twice, until he stopped and got out of his car literally in the middle of a busy three lane road during rush hour traffic. My mom just went around him and drove away, and nothing happened to her 2021 Highlander. Now I keep urging her to get a dashcam, especially after this incident.

A LS3 Camaro can do 170 MPH easy, I've had mine up to 160 MPH and the tunnel vision is insane, so I'll never do that dumb move again. It makes you really appreciate how good you have to be to drive a 200 MPH NASCAR race, and the incredible skills required to do it for 3 hours straight.
Payton ought pay for his own mistakes. One should never pass on the right. And Payton shows us precisely why: because you cannot see far enough ahead being on the left side of the car. We sit on the left of the car, because we drive on the right side of the road, so we can safely pass others on their left side.

Having grown up in Fayetteville NC home of fort bragg I can say that this is a truthful enough representation of the drivers. They all think they are Dale Earnhardt god rest his soul

The first one might not be a worst driver. Might've had a heart attack or seizure or something. I would not judge them until we know the complete story.
Something had to be wrong with the truck driver. My consciousness wouldn't let me rest if I were to keep driving and not check on the person. Unless the person was a brake checker.
Yeah I thought that too. If you looks closely you can see he actually glacéd off the first pole. Hitting 2 poles is either really unlucky or deliberate.
Technically you can make a U turn on red, provided there is no oncoming traffic. Similar to left on red from one-way to one-way.

In Arizona, a u-turn on red is permitted after stop.

Right on red has proven to be questionable, left on red is begging for collisions.

The law says u-turns are permitted where they aren't explicity prohibited provided they are safe and legal. I'd wager going through a red light in a left turn lane is not legal or safe.

#3 - the trucker was prolly pulling a heavy load and with those 2 stopping in the middle of the road that was the best way for him to avoid hitting them with his load

Unfortunately, that 2005 vehicle is going to net very little from the insurance settlement. That poor driver is going to be back in car payment hell while they had been driving a car that was paid off.

#12 Tell Payton I know where their home office is. I live about 3 miles away, and they have a lot full of wrecked trucks and trailers as a testament to how competent some of their drivers are. One almost hit me a few months ago.

Number 3 may not be the trucker cutting the corner too close, as much as the local transportation department road striping not being designed for trucks that long to clear waiting vehicles.
At 2:08 all the pickup driver had to do was wait a little longer and he could have passed legally. The dotted line started a little further down the road.
About the bus that made the right on red in front of a car, you said that the bus driver put his passengers in danger. No he didn't because the bus had an "Out of Service" sign displayed. There were no passengers on the bus.

I always wonder if the stop line for turns are too close to the intersections. I almost ran into the back a semi that almost clipped a car waiting for the light the other day. The car honked making the semi stop in the middle of the intersection mid-left turn. You don't expect a car, especially a semi, to come to a screeching stop in the middle of a protected left turn. The car about to be clipped was behind the painted line too. It had to back up farther to not get clipped. I was glad the semi didn't reverse. There was nowhere for me to go at that point because the car behind me nearly hit me when I slammed on my breaks.
I nearly had been run off the highway two exits before by a different semi. Another car and I were in the passing lane when he decided the semi in front of him was going too slow. I hate being anywhere near semi's... but I live next to a major semi gas station stop so there's semi's all over the place. And I KNOW neither I nor the car in front were in ANY of the blind spots. The diagram you are given to know if you're in a semi's blind spot, the one given in drivers ed, yeah the one that says if you're following behind and cannot see the side view mirrors you are too close, because the semi cannot see you. And it has pretty red triangles to show the danger zone, that one. Yeah it's burned into my memory. I refuse to sit in a blind spot. Semi vs little Chevy Sonic, Semi wins. That being said I would have been in his side-view mirror if he had bothered to look before changing lanes.
But no, he almost forced BOTH of us into the ditch between us and the opposite side of the highway. If the car in front of me hadn't accelerated to GTFO I 100% would have been in the ditch. I myself was around 95mph when I squeezed past. The highway is 75mph, the semi's average 60mph, I usually go 79mph(yes, I "speed"). I wish this was not a normal occurrence, but Colorado drivers are really bad at driving and it feels like the semi's don't care either.
It was a Wham Baam Dashcam kind of day, I really need to get one.

As a native of Fayetteville north Carolina I have occasionally seen my fair share of nut jobs whether around Fayetteville or on the highway
#2 that's Cliffdale and skybox intersection on the right is a enterprise car rental a gas station and on the left a gas station and car tyre store farther up on the right there is a best buy and target with a home depot
