IT BEGINS! The Truck Market CRASH Of 2024

  • The truck market is falling off a cliff. Chevy has discounts on almost every new truck. RAM is offering up to 20% off MSRP. Ford is still loaded up with 2023 model trucks. And Toyota is overflowing with 2024 Tundras. The truck market crash of 2024 has just started and the market has already taken a massive dive. Dealers are hurting after a slow month of sales in January and after all the price gouging from dealers the past few years, Truck prices are finally starting to fall. This could be a huge win for truck buyers in 2024 So in this video I'm going to RAM, Toyota, Ford, Nissan (RIP Titan!) and Chevy to see what prices are like, how much inventory they have, and if there are any discounts that make buying a new truck right now... actually worth it!
(i also bought a truck, so If you stay to the end, you'll might just see something really cool)
Check out the truck I just bought!

Those prices are insane to me. I bought a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT 10 years ago with 78,000 miles on it for $6.000. I paid it off in about 18 months, and I have been driving it with no monthly payment for about 8.5 years since it was paid off, and it still runs good with 168,000 miles on it. It has the 2.5 four cyl engine with the 5 speed. And it is good on gas, I get 20mpg in the city with it.
I can not even imagine paying $75,000 for a truck, that is more than my Fathers house is worth. He has a 3 bedroom 1 floor 1 bath ranch style house, with a garage and it was valued at $65,000 last year. It is not a mansion, but it is a nice little house for a family with 2 kids.
I can not even see myself going to a bank and asking for a $75,000 loan to buy a truck, that is just crazy to me. The cost of living here is pretty low, and you can get a nice small house for $60,000 to $80,000, so the thought of paying $75,000 for a truck is just madness to me.
I personally would never pay more than $40,000 for a truck, at the most. I got 10 years out of my current truck and it only cost me $6,000.

This is how I see it, now is the time for the consumer to dictate how much they are willing to pay for any vehicle. These manufacturers have huge teams that do market research to ser how much consumers are paying. They'll know how low they need to go in order for us to start buying cars again. If everyone would hold the line and not buy at these prices I can almost guarantee you that average prices for trucks would come down to $40k. As a 28 year old that works his ass off, makes $40 an hour, and still can’t even fathom buying a house or putting myself into debt on a brand new truck, it’s ridiculous. All the things that used to be regular life milestones are now too expensive to even afford. All while wages have stayed the same. I feel bad for my kids because i can only imagine what it will be in another 20 years. Greed runs this world and it makes me sick.

I hope you still have those trucks! Those are REAL trucks and with a bit of work (new/upgraded motor, beefing up for capacity, etc) would compete with these new trucks (probably even beat them on reliability) for way less money. Mid 90s was the end of real trucks for real men.

I bought a 2002 GMC Denali with 4WD -and- 4 wheel steering with 6.2L engine and tow package with tach on dash new for $40K in late 2001. There were few options. It came fully loaded. It was considered an outrageous price for a pickup at the time. It's an adult now -- 21 years old and still going strong. No significant maintenance issues. It has picked up a few minor scrapes. I'm happy with it.

I was reading an article on the 2024 f150 and how the king ranch was priced 10K over the 23 model. It also was saying how all trim levels are going to be priced higher. Ford made the digital dash and 12” infotainment screen standard on all trims. So yeah, I don’t see much changing here. Prices will continue to increase. Instead of making changes to get prices to drop they went the other way to increase them. They are using the excuse that everybody is ordering their trucks with all the bells and whistles so they have decided to make them standard.
