The car, truck and suv market is a huge disaster right now and dealerships are struggling to sell their overpriced trucks and SUVs Ford inventory is piling up so high on dealer lots that they can't even accept any more trucks from the factory. Stellantis recently fired hundreds of engineers. And Americans are tired of being screwed and refuse to spend their money on overpriced trucks and SUVs.

Giving the huge million dollar settlements is misleading. Those judgements are super rare and not at all realistic. In almost all cases you can only get what the insurance policy coverage is. So an accident with a normal person who has normal insurance isn't gonna get you more than your medical bills and property fldamage. And that's best case scenario. Add in that even if you do get a judgement it doesn't guarantee you anything.

I was in the PI business for many years as an Investigator. I’ve worked for the largest ambulance chaser in Atlanta which competed with Morgan and Morgan which claimed to be the largest law firm in the business but they were not the largest in Atlanta and I can’t tell you how many clients complained about their low settlement and the high fees that the attorney charged. Those TV Attorneys are a huge ripoff and could care less about their clients. By the time the attorneys take out their fees, pay the medical bills there is usually a small amount left for the client as I’ve seen where the client will get about 25 percent of the total settlement

Since then, in spite of being very well aware the "worst financial decision" anyone can make is buying a new car, that's what I've done because that's what I prefer. I cut corners in enough things and can afford it, even with the disapproval from the financial experts. I give myself that and am in an excellent financial situation and just pay cash. I don't have any vices and have always been very good with money, but the main thing for me is I always, ALWAYS, kept my cars and trucks and SUVs in excellent shape. All maintenance was done to the manufacturer's recommendations and coupled with relatively low mileage I put on a vehicle, I always got very good trade ins. For instance, I have a 2018 Toyota Tacoma Sport with 36k on it, and that'll last me forever, and with me only driving four times or so a week now - often less - and with me usually riding the Harley on nice days, it works out perfectly. I WILL say, I'm glad I'm not in the market for a vehicle now though.

A large percentage of our population is terrible with money. Vehicles are one of the biggest things that keep people from ever getting ahead. Ridiculous marked up prices aside, you should only be spending what you can afford on a vehicle. Preferably you should pay cash, or at the very least put a very large down payment and pay it off quickly. Life is expensive enough without a vehicle loan dragging you down. Secondly, people need to take care of their vehicles and start keeping them longer. You don't need a new car every 5 years.

This is also the fallout and unconsidered cost of union labor. My father was a union Ford worker(Ohio truck) for 38 years. The manufacturers have allowed the unions to screw them consistently and this is the outcome. Auto workers act like they have such a hard and strenuous job, when in reality, it's a cake walk.
