What good deals are out there? Andre and Roman cover several local-area dealers around Denver to see which has the best deals on new full-size (half-ton) trucks!

Great video! Loved the focus on more “affordable” trucks. I am buying at the end of 2024. I am leaning midsize with a max budget of $45,000 plus/minus $2,500. Given that we tow a small 2,900 lb camper and haul camping gear, we will cross shop base trim 1/2 ton 4WD trucks as well.

The Ford Maverick is a very affordable truck. The Maverick can carry many different things from dirt bikes, snowblowers, refrigerators, kayaks, loam/dirt/bark mulch. It can tow a 5x8 trailer and that is enough for my occasional junk removal that I have to do. I highly recommend the Ford Maverick to anyone that is thinking about buying it. I have driven mine 45,000 Miles and it drives amazing, the steering is like non other. The low bed height is also another amazing perk when loading heavy things. I mostly use it to transport my E-Bike which is around 70 Pounds and I am very glad that the bed is low when loading and unloading. It is also the hybrid, I average 39 MPG. For $23,000 after my options and all add on fees people can not believe how much truck you get for such little money. I also drive my truck in three New England winters and I have not gotten stuck yet with FWD, I currently have Firestone Destination LE/3 Tires on it. I hope people looking for affordable trucks consider the Ford Maverick. Thank you for the videos TFL, God Bless- Evan

In January 2018, I was at the Ford dealership buying a leftover new 2017 Focus ST (for $17,999), and they offered me either a base 2018 Mustang GT or an F150 Coyote 4WD single cab/short bed for $27,500. Both were brand new.
I also remember the ‘18 Mustang Ecoboost Premium being $23,500.
It’s wild how much times have changed. That same dealership wouldn’t discount any of their 2023 Mustang GTs AT ALL when I was shopping last March, and there wasn’t a single F150 on the lot for under $48k. Mach Es were all over $60k and they said all their Mavericks were sold before they hit the lot.
(I went over to Subaru and they sold me an optioned-out ‘23 WRX Premium for $3500 below MSRP, no haggling required, and I got 48 months at 1.9%). Edit: my WRX was $31,500 OTD.

It's because they fancy them up with a bunch of completely unnecessary stuff as standard equipment that used to be optional or not even available before. That and inflation but if anything they need to bring more basic stuff back like manual transmission, crank windows, and make more standard cab trucks. Also only put the mandated safety equipment in the bare bones models like seat belts and a single front impact airbag on each side. Although they make it a little more collision safe in most cases having 10 airbags in your vehicle when only 2 are mandated adds a lot of cost.

The problem with base models is they don't exist anymore... they're basically all luxury trucks now. I looked at a "BASE" ford f-250 XL diesel this weekend and they "only" wanted $67,000 for it! LOL All of the safety and emissions junk, followed by all the tech stuff makes these trucks insane to purchase. I don't need a TV screen in my dashboard. Also PS, if you need a feature to help you back your trailer, you shouldn't be pulling one in the first place. They make "trucks" now for dads living in subdivisions that haul their kids back and forth to soccer practice, and forgot about the people using them for work. Trucks are basically just a station wagon at this point.

We struggled to pay $650 per mo for 5 years with $5k down in the competitive market of 2019, for a sales price of $35k for a carefully equipped mid-range 4wd crew cab.
Today that same vehicle is an impossible $1100 per month, while the dealer/manufacturers profit margin has expanded from ~$6k to ~$20k.
I'm sitting it out for a few more years. Competition and over supply will return again as market forces return. At that point end year sales prices will approach at least $10k -$15k less than where they are today.
    Thanks. But No thanks.
Doesn't mean that much to me. $60k in my pocket is worth much, much more than a new modest truck in my driveway. Lord, needed to earn $100,000 to put it there! Work a full year for a truck?

I bought my F-150 FX4 Supercab new in 2011 and still have it today. Back then the FX4 was it's own model squeezed nicely between the XLT and the Lariat models, making my truck essentially a lower mid tier model and it was stickered at just at 40K between trade in, down payment and some haggling I drove it off the lot for 27K. Just for shits and giggles I recently priced out the 2024 equivalent of my truck and it was over 20K more than my truck was STICKERED at. The last time I walked around a dealership lot and just casually looked at trucks, you are hard pressed to find anything for under 60K these days, they may have a few base model trucks on the lot and even those are usually over 50K these days.

    • @paulira7407
      @paulira7407 Před měsícem +3

I’m not sure on the Tundras, but I have several reasons why on the 4Runners because I’ve been looking to buy a 2023/2024 for about a year now.
First, and maybe the main reason is that there are no special incentives on the 2024 4Runners as of right now and for the last couple of months. Even with excellent credit, the interest rates either through a credit union or through Toyota to finance a 4Runner is ridiculously high.
I financed my 2021 Rav4 Prime through a credit union in 2021 for 4-years at 1.9% and there is no way I could even get that close for an interest rate for a 4Runner at the moment.
Second, most if not close to all Toyota dealerships in the United States are still playing games with additional fees and markups, even with many 4Runners sitting on dealers lots unsold for months on end. You need to do your homework on the paperwork or you might get hosed with hundreds if not thousands of dollars in unneeded dealer fees.
Third, even with the current 4Runner’s excellent reliability track record with V6 and 5-speed tranny, many buyers are going with hybrid technology when it comes to their SUV’s. Hybrid SUV’s are Toyota’s hottest selling vehicles at the moment and they cannot keep up with demand even with little to no incentives on them.
