BREAKING POINT! The Car Market has Suffered a FINAL BLOW!

  • The new and used vehicle market has taken its final blow... Last quarter we saw record sales take place, that isn't because the car market is back to normal, it's due to dealers slashing the prices on their inventory. We have so many brand new 2023 models still just filling up dealership lots (in April of 2024!) That's unheard-of. Huge discounts and incentivized interest rates are what led to the high sales figures last quarter.
In this video I talk through some new stats, facts and figures that are quite alarming. For these reasons, the new and used car/truck/suv market is showing signs of a huge downward swing. If you'd been on the fence of buying a new vehicle, watch this video... 2024 just might be your year to capitalize on it! I love it because NOW, a dealership's reputation actually matters... Whereas during the pandemic, dealers could treat customers like a number. Like another brick in the wall. The dealers that took advantage of people these last few years will truly struggle, and I'm okay with that. How about you?
Here are some points I discuss in this video:
    - Manufacturers are dropping MSRPs… slowly but surely.
    - Jeeps… Cherokees, Pacifica, F150 Lightning, not enough $2K cherokees
    - Cheap vehicles are becoming more and more popular… Chevy Trax, ford Maverick, Nissan frontier,
    - MSRP hikes 36%
    - Markups are dwindling… TRX, TRD Pros, Siennas, Rav4s, Raptors (not R), RS6, G wagons… let me know the worst markups you’ve seen.
    - New vehicles… especially new trucks are 15-20% overpriced now. So 10% discounts don’t mean much…
    - Jeep over 60% price increase in last 5 years
    - It’s becoming a clear Buyers market
    - Incentives keep getting stronger…
    - Prices paid are going down… $47,200 average transaction price
    - Just under $50K during pandemic
    - Dealers are having to slash costs… floor plan costs are bleeding them dry. Wholesale auctions are no longer a reliable parachute.
    - $50K at 3% …$3900 in interest 60mo ($895 monthly).
    - $50K at 9%… $12,275 in interest 60mo ($1038 monthly).
    - Ford sales up 6.8%… inventory is going up much faster haha
    - Same for Tundra… 15,337 tundra sold in March, 11,247 Feb, 9,631 Jan.
    - Inventory levels 3M+ available new…
    - Like this because it’ll weed out the greedy dealers. Greedy dealers will drown themselves…
    - New deals better… used values plummet as a result. Good and bad…
What do you think is next for the new and used vehicle market? Will it get better before it gets worse? Let me know.
As always, I sincerely appreciate you all taking the time to watch... it means a lot! Thank you. If you haven't already, please consider Liking and Subscribing. Your support doesn't go unnoticed!
    -Stay Untamed...

I'm partial to that statement as well. Both the MFG's & stealerships have adjusted their strategy due to that world event 3 years ago. Not that I have really looked into to much but I suspect the stealerships are probably being floated on by some new financing agreement(s) or delayed interest program to sell their slow moving stock. Manufactures have changed by simply stating that there's a supply shortage and delays. The manufactures just simply raise the base MSRP on all their models, stop purchasing so much from their suppliers and produce in smaller batches. I firmly believe they're manufacturing a false crisis / exacerbate on current issues into justifying their new permanent price scheme. If several years ago a truck at $50k was overpriced and today they're charging $100k then when it comes time to adjust their pricing to meet market demand the new norm will by $65-70k. Manufactures will simply gaslight consumers into thinking they're saving $30k when it reality they raised the base MSRP by $15 without anyone batting an eye. If MFG's & Stealerships were making profits on a $50k truck, just how much are they making now for goodness sake, $20, $30, $40, $50k?

@@icjkicks3630 You're telling me that 'most' car manufactures aren't turning a profit on vehicles and are only really making money off selling parts to dealerships? What incentive would there be to continuing their brands if the profit margins are so little? Why even spend the billions on R&D, certifications and advertising if they're only making a buck from servicing and interest from car loans? Car MFG's have incredible pull, they have political influence, they have purchasing power with suppliers. I can assure you that car MFG's are making a profit and will continue to do so. Perhaps the profit margins aren't as fat as what they used to be but I also doubt that because everything today is made to fail, usually after a warranty.

At least the ranger will offer the 2.7 ecoboost V6 as an option, with the 3.0 ecoboost going to the ranger raptor. Toyota needs to offer something else because Ford and GM are crushing them in the power department. GMs 2.7 4 banger makes way more torque than the taco. If your car payment has ended baby your vehicle - still budget the same money for maintenance and saving toward next one.

Oddly I'm seeing a lot of Temp plates and new vehicles rolling around. No idea who has the money to pay these prices, but people are doing it.

I see a lot of temp. tags flapping in the wind as well but they are usually up to a month or a year or more past expired.

Still plenty of credit available and there are plenty of millionaires that can fork over $100K for a truck.

If you walk into Mountain states Toyota in Denver, they won’t give you the time of day if you have not made a previous appointment with them. They really do make you feel like it is a privilege that you even get to buy a car from them.

Just ordered a f350 platinum tremor from Dwight at kg ford per your recommendation. Picked up an f150 for my stepson a few weeks ago. They did a great job. Just wondering what you think of the hd truck side.

Just put my deposit down on a 2024 4Runner TRD off road premium in CA for $3200 below MSRP. Had to purchase in central CA and drive about 1hr and 45min but well worth it.

Bad enough the manufacturers have raised the MSRPs $30k “+…since 2019. Crazy that Toyota doesn’t offer the Tundra in a V8 option…some of use just don’t want a turbo engine or “Hybrid”.

    Try 50% overpriced.
    Keep em.....
I work for the government but as a licensed plumber, I also do side work. Once my old dakota craps out.... Im done. These people on facebook looking for plumbers can find someone else. Time is money and I would rather spend my time with my family than doing side work to pay for a 80k pickup.
I will still work for the government, give up sidework, and just drive a Suburu Forrester.
This is just one more reason why it costs so much to get any contractor to do anything, and why us older contractors are hanging up the hat. I personally don't enjoy charging grandma $800 to change a faucet. But with 80k in just the truck...... I cant work on the cheap anymore.
