They got the paperwork ready and i was about to sign but realized they added 4k to the price trying to basically colled the EV tax for themselves. Dealer told me the OTD price was with the EV credit. I’m not broke. I have several thousand of free income every month. I *will not* spend it on a car. The market is fully set up to screw customers over. The vehicles are overpriced and what they produce is unreliable. Dealerships want to mark up the price over MSRP. Insurance companies are hiking insurance rates massively. Car repair shops lie to you and do half assed jobs. Why would I spend my good money on that sh*t show?
I won’t. I’ll run my 7 year old car into the ground and spend my money having fun, not on cars. I’m done. I’m out. F*** the industry.

I realize the crowd here isn't a Tesla fan, but the *only* pickup I would consider is the Cybertruck. Once production is up at full rate, a mere 60k per quarter or 20k per month, it will have an impact. If nothing else, it is an excellent substitute for an SUV with the ability to haul stuff. What is it, 80% of full size pickups are for suburbanites that don't *need* a work truck? There just isn't anything else that is a large car for the middle class.

I see brand new F-250 Platinums, Escalades and Chevy HD trucks driving everywhere. Oh I forgot about all the Denali SUVs and trucks and the new Dodge Rams. I guess they sell better here.

I have a 1996 Chevy Silverado,2500, 170K miles, runs great. 5.7 liter, 250HP, 355 lbs torque. I can tow 9,000 lbs. I get about 14-18 mpg on the road. I have maintained It , and it looks great, my favorite body style.
Why would I buy a beast like that white Shelby for almost $200K Canadian dollars? Go figure.

Gee say it ain’t so. Trucks costing $80,000 to over 100,000 ! P T Barnum said there is a sucker born every minute!
This situation has gone on way too long! Not everybody needs a truck! Think about what your needs are not what you ego
says. When you pay the money of a home deposit which depreciates to almost zero , it says ego or stupidity. I guess it could be both!

I got the money but NO ONE will EVER RAPE ME! I am licking my chops waiting to get my awesome deal! In the mean time my ULTRA RELIABLE 2009 Hyundai Sonata NEVER lets me down! It will be 15 years on June 1st and it has NEVER broke down and only an AC compressor (actually the clutch filed coil) two years ago. I would prefer a new Hyundai or Kia but will take anything reliable with a good deal. I would really like a truck. Normally I would take the Santa Cruz buy I want a REAL pickup. I might even be more well suited with a mini van, the Carnival of course!

It's really just to much money. Most people go to work. Come home. Run to the grocery store. Maybe a appointment here and there. Bring kids somewhere. Back to work. Back home ..
In the meantime the car gets rock chips, hits some potholes. Maybe sits in traffic when it's congested. Might get a flat tire. Gets rained on our driven through salt and snow. Gets some dings and scratches from the parking in parking lots. Maybe the occasional run away grocery cart.
If you look at how cars are used. It's basically transportation that will get hurt in the process. There's no investment here. That's too much money. Even if you have the money. That's too much money for most of these cars. And how they get used. Few years might have scratches, dings, rock chips, maybe some surface rust underneath. Maybe need tires and alignment or struts from those potholes. It won't stay "new" long. Plus you pay taxes on it. Insurance. Registration fees.
. How much is a car budget that's appropriate? How much is it worth to drive to work to make more money to pay for the car you drive in going to work and then spend what you have left at the big box store. This shouldn't be something that's costing you thousands and thousands and thousands a year. That basically defeats the purpose of driving it to work to make money.

new vehicles are a bad investment. Even if you pay cash, the start losing value the second you drive it off the lot and you are underwater or upside down the same day
