$8500 Off and NOT SELLING! Dealerships STRUGGLE to sell the New Toyota Tundra!

  • Not a day goes by where I don't receive a message on Instagram showing the huge discounts being offered on new 2024 Toyota Tundras. Toyota dealerships across the nation have a huge influx on Tundra inventory, they cannot sell them if their life depended on it. Which completely blows my mind. Even the new 2024 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro (as shown in this video) is falling to sell. I posted one that was listed at $7K off the other day (also Terra in color to be fair) and they couldn't move it. Between the terrible interest rates for car loans and the huge MSRP price hikes, people just aren't interested anymore. People are not buying Toyota Tundra. True Toyota enthusiasts love Toyotas for 3 primary reasons: 1) Unmatched Reliability, 2) Excellent Resale, and 3) Simplicity. You could argue exceptional off-road capability too but that can be looped into unmatched reliability, haha.
This new 2022+ Toyota Tundra has deviated too far from those core principles. Simplicity generally translated to "affordable"... but now these tech-riddled Tundras are overkill. Hiking the MSRP over $20K on the TRD Pro trim is disgusting. Too much change and too expensive for your modern Toyota enthusiast, in my opinion. Do you agree? What do you think of the new Toyota Tundra? Are dealers in your local area stacking up in inventory too?
Thank you for watching as always, please consider Liking and Subscribing if you found ANY value in my video here, your support means a lot. Thanks!

In 2015 I leased a new Tacoma TRDOR with the Premium pkg and an MSRP of $32K. In 2018 I leased a new 2018, same features, having an MSRP of $36K. My current 2021 Taco, with the same package, jumped to an MSRP of $45K and in 2024 the same featured vehicle now carries an MSRP of over $53K. My old 95 chevy dually will be roaming the roads like the last t-Rex 🦖 while those plastic princess trucks sit in a junkyard. My 21 limited isn’t the truck my 14 sr5 was. The 3g Tundra is a huge let down. 1g tundra was consistently popular and loved, 2g Tundra hit the market swinging big D with a nearly 3/4 ton class frame, massive brakes, massive transmission and massive capabilities which made everyone run back to the drawing board. Then the 3g hype train came along and had peoples expectations very high with the leaked "world beater" bs. What do we get? A Tacoma XL with ridiculous "bumpers" and strange design choices. You can tell all the truck budget went to the Tacoma and the Tundra got the crumbs.
Toyota can salvage this gen by giving it a major face lift and I emphasis on the lift part. Pick up it's dumb underbite, give it steel bumper options front and rear, tone down the massive bs grill, and give the 4x4 Tundra and the Sequoia a suspension lift. Bring back the bench seat option, especially for the double cab. That center console isn't doing any favors for rear seat legroom. Bring back the V8.

GX550 Overtrail looks more interesting than a Tundra TrdPro at same price. If one really NEEDED a truck, one wouldn't be needing a TrdPro in the first place. So many 4x4s to choose from.

Correct, i've never seen a single TRDPro or Raptor owner use their vehicle as an actual truck. The one's I know offroad them 1-3 times then goes around boasting about how they offroad their vehicles but then keeps it as a pavement princess all the way till they sell it.

    New to your channel.
The MSRP on all vehicles right now is insane. As you pointed out in a previous video, people need to look at the true cost of owning the vehicle as you pointed out. That means initial purchase price, insurance, maintenance cost and fueling the vehicle over time. Once you sit down and factor all those things in reality sets in. If it means paying your mortgage and feeding your family, a responsible person will not make such a decision. All vehicle manufacturers need to go back to listening to their customer base.

definitely not the case here in BC Canada on the west coast. Only one or two 2024 Tundra TRD PRO's are available at a dealerships. They think the trucks are worth gold...... they cost $89,800.00 plus dealer fees and then taxes... it's insane. I called about one that I found last week. The salesman told me there was a line up of people wanting the truck and there was no discounts .... haha I laughed and asked him why is there Three different salesman's trying to sell the truck on FB marketplace at his dealership and its still there... oh and at 7.8% interest on a lease....out to lunch......

I wasn’t a fan of Terra initially but after seeing it out in the direct sun, it’s really a great color that looks so different between sun and clouds. But I also think the smaller 4Runner wears it better than the larger vehicles.

I have been looking at Ram 2500s and dealers do not want to budge, they keep saying that trucks are in high demand and they are selling fast. Even with the rebates they don’t want to move inventory.

Ask the dealer why do you have a 286 day supply of these, look it up they have plenty of rams 1500-3500 for quite some time One of them even has a year supply

Im 2000 when I bought my Tacoma Prerunner SR5 4x4, it was $23k out the door! In 2019, I bought a Tacoma SR5 4X4 for $42k. I've put sbout 76k miles on my newer truck and my older truck has about 287k miles yet when comparing both of them. The engine smoothness and the trucks direct response to the pedal...the truck just has a direct feel whereas I have to consttpush fiether down to get more from the newer truck because of the whole setup with Tacoma being forced to save fuel mileage and emissions. Thats another oddity because for 18 gallons on the old truck, I was able to get about 330-390 miles depending on how i drive. On my newer Tacoma, the gas capacity is 21 gallon and has between 330-400 miles depending on how I drive. I don't see any great improvement on fuel economy...they might as well worked on engine response and just kept the damn same old engine. Yes I even had a head gasket failure at 54k....the newer Tacoma are literally designed to fail. Tundra? I shouldn't be surprised if the same thing was done but the cost has literally gone through the roof! Im thinking of an SUV and im going with Lexus. Yes, although Lexus is made by Toyota...for that kind of pricing, Im expecting Lexus level of innovation, quality and refinement....not some scrap up model with parts from Prius here, Camry there and Tacoma here for the price of what i would usually expect Lexus or other more luxury brand.

Vehicle prices are too high and interest rates are too high, keeping many from buying a new vehicle right now. Manufacturers and dealers are trying to keep the inflated pandemic/chip shortage prices in place and people arent having it. The industry as a whole needs to come back down to reality. Im about to turn in a lease and rather than buy or lease a new vehicle, Im choosing to turn my lease in and just drive my paid for 2007 GMC Sierra for a while until things normalize a bit. Oh yeah, I should add that many like myself are tired of seeing all these trucks, and other vehicles, move away from V8's and V6's too these turbo 4 cylinders. So, many may be looking for used vehicles that arent under powered. I love my V8 Sierra. I certainly hope this changes. Turbo 4's arent a good replacement.

My buddy's dad just traded in his 23 Tundra for a 24 Titan because he needs a NA V8 for towing.
The man said it didn't tow as much as the specs stated and it struggled allot to pull 7K LBS up a steep hill, we live in Nevada.
It's just crazy that Toyota killed the V8 in the Tundra/Sequoia and the V6 in the Tacoma.
