  • In this video I try to go over the basics of a street tune in Nistune. The 3 resources I used were:
    !!!!****DO NOT USE THE "AUTO ADJUST LOAD SCALES" FEATURE****!!!!
    I have not been able to get the load scales anywhere close by checking the box that says auto adjust load scales. its best to just look at them and do it manually.
    Nistune Software Installation and Users Manual

    Nissan ECU Tuning Basics

    Nistune Mapping Guide
    nistune.com/docs/Nistune_Mappi...
    After using the resize injectors feature the 1st step is tuning the k value. This is done while driving around 2000-3000 rpms while trying to stay at about a 1/4 load on the fuel map. You can either monitor short and long fuel trims (fts and ftl) if the narrowband o2 or simulator connected to factory harness, or by just monitoring the wideband gauge looking for 14.7 or close to it.
    The 2nd main step is to adjust the load scalers. Look at TP (Load index) to find the min value at idle and max value at full load/boost and adjust the tables accordingly.
    I took a few degrees of time out of the top end/high load area of the map as recommended in the Nistune literature.
    It’s also required to “flatten” the fuel map due to bigger injectors. Do this slowly to make sure AFRs don’t go lean while in boost.
    Using the trace map/graph is good for this because you can see what the AFRs are in the map after a run/pull.
    This is just a quick guide to introduce some basic features of Nistune.

    Been struggling with getting the z running for a while. I had no idea what was happening as my fuel map was in the wrong location in terms of trace. Your video has been the only source that has told me NOT to do the load scale adjustment. It seems when I clicked the "Adjust Load Scales" on my injector resize and on my MAF change that Nistune would absolutely destroy my Load values. Which in turn placed me in the wrong columns, giving me the issue I had. I thank you for the help!

      Glad it was a little help. I’ve been trying to find the sweet spot on load scalers. You can always use the compare feature but it doesn’t show you the difference in value on the map just a visual on the 3D graph so I’ve been trying to open up nistune twice to compare load scales and fine the best values.

    This content is super helpful. Been trying to understand Nistune for my Z31T. I haven’t been able to get my aem uego to work with my Nistune .

    • @samwashere1392

      Doesn’t the AEM come with its own connector (usb/serial) and it’s own software to read it in the laptop?
      For Nistune you have to set up a com port on your laptop first I believe.
      Then configure the wideband in nistune.
      My prosport wideband didn’t come with a connector so I had to get the dlp a/d converter to wire the bare signal wire from the wideband controller (it’s in an older video). But the dlp converter have like 6 other ports so I could wire in boost level and other things to data log in the future.

    Hey mate awesome video. Quick question. With the rpm limiter how does that work? I've tried to set mine but no good. Set it at 2k but doesn't limit. Is the limiter only under load and whilst driving as I can't drive my car on street yet?

    OK, stupid question perhaps but if I have large injectors for future improvements can I get the car to run properly nd have good ARF values using Nistune? Right now at idle the AFR is WAY rich at 2.6. ANY input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks🙂

    Hello! why do you change KConst when changing injectors? The manual says to adjust the TIM. The manual also says that you should try to leave Load Scales at their factory values.

    • @samwashere1392

      TIM is only available in Feature Pack nistune which I do not have

  • @TobeyNord

    Is there any difference between Nistune vs MS gold stand alone in terms of how old the car is? or is it limited to just stock components? Or can you run ignition timing LS coil packs .

    • @samwashere1392
      @samwashere1392  Před 2 lety

      Not exactly sure what the question is..nistune is a daughterboard that gets soldered on the stock ecu and essentially works like a piggyback but uses all stock sensors that the stock ecu would. Any stand alone ecu will have to be wired in to use some existing components and some new lots more possibilities with a stand alone.

    • @TobeyNord
      @TobeyNord Před 2 lety

      Sorry I was meaning would it support aftermarket coil packs or does it have any limits.

    • @samwashere1392
      @samwashere1392  Před 2 lety

      @@zhongxina2793 no, I think aem and innovate have their own USB output from the their wideband controller. I think they come with software and in nistune you can just read the usb signal or something. The prosport wideband I have only have a 5v signal wire output from the controller so that’s where the dlp a/d converter comes in, converts that 0-5v signal to usb then you calibrate it in a nistune table

    i got an rb20det i did a 2nd gear pull but my tp index is around 129 at 4800rpm also hitting a safety load limit only hitting about 10 psi on boost if i increase it up to around 130 on the fuel scales would it do any damage?

    • @samwashere1392
      @samwashere1392  Před 2 lety

      It sounds like you need to adjust load scales..need to be careful cuz if the timing load scales are off it could cause damage. Try increasing the top end of both load scales by 20-30 and interpolate referencing base map scaling. If not enough do the same thing again until your max load is in the 2nd to last column

    Can you explain what K constant is?

    • @samwashere1392
      @samwashere1392  Před 8 měsíci

      k constant is the injection multiplier, basically adjusts for bigger injectors. its only needs to be adjusted in the non feature pack nistune. nistune with feature pack has a feature called TIM (total injection multiplier) which is an easier way to make injector resizing adjustments.
      Theoretical pulsewidth is basically the load measured by the MAF. The actual calculation is:
      TP = MAF lookup / RPM x K constant
      check out the support tab on the nistune website, lots of good info in the users manual and tuning guide:
