None of my high school teachers ever used Wikipedia so when I was too stressed out/tired/pissed off to actually bother writing a half decent essay, I would just copy and paste a bunch of shit, erase and edit here and there, and just submitted that. Worked EVERY time.
That emoji-editing website reminded me of Symbol Arts in Phantasy Star Online (an MMO on the PC/Dreamcast/Gamecube/Xbox from 2000), you could choose a colored shape for the base and add various images (mostly facial parts, hands, lines, or signs specific to the game) as well as move them around - you could even attach a sound effect to it
Now in Phantasy Star Online 2 (a 2012 MMO), Symbol Arts have evolved into a whole miniature art program; people recreating memes, anime, etc. I believe someone even made a tool to convert images into Symbol Arts for PSO2
