  • It has been around 18 months since the conclusion of the first season finale of House of the Dragon, yet the duration of the wait may have been interminable for fans. (Please note: The time interval between seasons 1 and 2 is approximately one month in terms of dragon years.) With our glasses now half full, I am delighted to report that the second season of the HBO fantasy series will debut on June 16th this summer. In order to further excite the viewers for the highly anticipated comeback, House of the Dragon unveiled two contrasting teasers depicting the impending civil war.
The two previews for the upcoming "Dance of the Dragons" ask fans to pick a side between Queen Alicent Hightower and Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen. The teasers also function as a reminder for individuals (like me) who have only a faint recollection of the identities of these individuals. If anyone requires a brief review, you are welcome to join me as I delve into our weekly episode summaries.

I don't think so. The directors wouldn't spend their money for a dragons that were not a part of the dance, dad didn't have a big rule. They aren't dumb enough to create and show more dragons than show more and pretty scenes with other dragons

Lol,vhagar also fucks up caraxes by tearing one of his wings and clawing out his guts underbelly, so the main reason vhagar died was hitting the surface of the ocean as obv her being 2-3 times the size of caraxes she it the ocean surface with greated force which had a larger impact crushing her bones, caraxes on the other hand survived the fall because obv he was waay smaller so the fall didnt have much impact on him and he crawled out of the river so the main reason caraxes died was coz of vhagar

There is no mention in canon that Sunfyre hatched with Aegon and his egg was in baby bed, so he can be a claimed dragon older than Aegon. Also, age doesn't always matter - Vermithor was larger than Dreamfyre while significally younger.

@@EmeraldDreams7 I think Sunfyre might be from Dreamfyre since they kinda have the same name and if he (I’m making Sunfyre a male dragon) is and Syrax is they’re siblings like Rhaenyra and Aegon. I also wonder if Vaghar ever laid eggs what those would look like ? She’s really old so she definitely has laid them but did they ever hatch? Also who’s laid Caraxes and Meleys? So many rabbit holes we HOTD nerds can go down and get lost in.

@@justcallmed5297 I would love a dragon family tree. We don't even know if dragons have genders, or if they can lay eggs by themselves. Certain dragons seem to lay more eggs than others but nobody has ever seen them do the deed. My theory is that Syrax and Sunfyre might be related to Vhagar because of their similar skull shape. Seasmoke, Drogon, and Dreamfyre look related. Caraxes and Meleys also seem related imo. It's a mystery though.

I have a personal theory, that Cannibal was meant to be the dragon of Maegor but since he rejected other dragons and only wanted Balerion, Cannibal remained wild and unclaim. There's a lot of parallel with Maegor on the fact that Maegor killed his own family, and the Cannibal eats it's own.

@@jonx_Doe The color gold is a shade of yellow. And the series canon and the book canon are different, Daenerys' dragons looked drastically different in the books than in the series, so they could have changed Syrax's color from yellow to gold in the same way. Even in the books, Sunfyre is not the ONLY golden dragon, although you say so. Viserion was also cream and gold. And the fact that Syrax is golden in the series, because that's what she's called, doesn't change anything about the fact that Sunfyre is also golden.
